The yoga teachers were great, the place was a really authentic yoga place. The accommodation / my room was great. Suvi, who was responsible for welcoming newcomers was very nice and friendly. The staff in Samadi To was very friendly and were providing good service. The overall ambiance was easy-going and very appropriate for a yoga center. I would like to return here, it was too short.
The swimming pool in Samadi was really dirty. The wifi in the room wasn't working properly. Also, this time I was in a mood of individualized retreat but some other time would be nice to attend a group retreat in Samadi.
I had the 8 day yoga retreat and stayed at Samadi Too, which is just across the road from Samadi Bali (one can do hot yoga there, in addition to the more traditional yoga classes offered at Samadi Bali).
I was travelling alone, but there were plenty of opportunities to meet other people - other guests doing a similar retreat, but also travelers or even locals who live close by and come to Samadi Bali for the yoga classes or other various events taking place there every week.
The room and surroundings were beautiful and comfortable, the yoga lessons were very good and inspiring, the food was amazing, and the staff was so friendly and nice!
Unfortunately I got sick at the end of my retreat, but even then it felt like I couldn't have made a better choice for my retreat - the staff, especially Ayu, took so good care of me that it felt like having a family far away from home. Especially since I was travelling alone, I find it hard to express how much I appreciated this - thank you so much Ayu!!
To summarize, I highly recommend Samadi Bali!

Samadi Bali and it's stylish little sister Samadi Too - What a little paradise! Food for your body and soul, Sunshine to your mind and skin, Inspiration to laughs and kindness, open tab to happiness, relaxation and discovery of self and others. My sister and myself had long looked for a retreat to spend some time recovering from our busy lives at home, get into our yoga practice and reconnect with ourselves and each other! This place gave us everything we could have hoped for and much more! We felt truly spoil and the warm welcome from the amazing staff made us feel very special! Smiles and kindness everywhere. Exceptional yoga teachers, all getting the best out of our practice and making us shine and laugh even in the most sweaty upside down and 3 times twisted positions. Lovely refreshing pool, amazing coffee and healthy food with funky juices, smoothies and daily specials. Thank you all for your generosity, your hospitality and your smiles, truly the best way to start a new year!!

The room is small, just like a square box but somehow little details make it feels luxurious. The choice of blanket, the painting in the bath room, and the swimming pool just steps away from your door. The restaurant is a bliss, I have never tasted vegetarian food that taste that good. And of course the yoga studio with lots of program will be a bonus if you are into yoga. It was a nice laid back place if you're not into big hotels, but more of a homey place to stay.

I stayed at Samadi for 10 days in one of their pool rooms. The setting is stunning, beautifully designed and laid out with a pool by my doorstep. Quiet and serene. I arrived late and Suvi was waiting for me and her gentle and welcoming approach was the perfect welcome to Samadi, she was always there for me and the other guests throughout my visit as well. Thanks Suvi! I went to Samadi to learn Mysore. I had been doing led Ashtanga classes and really wanted to experience Mysore. I was incredibly nervous to go to my first class - with all the usual jitters and worries that come along with doing something new. I needn't have been worried! From the moment I stepped into the Shala - Damien was there to support and guide me. He is an incredible man with so much insight and intuition. He has so much compassion and an understanding of what each person needs in his classes. He is incredible to watch as he makes subtle changes or sits down with someone to chat about what they are doing on and off he mat. He is funny and strong and appreciates each person being there to practice with him. I felt so empowered and inspired the whole time I was there and am so glad our lives crossed paths. I would highly recommend a one-on-one session with him - I didn't do one but will next time I come back! Damien and his partner have created and incredible space! Beyond the yoga mat - the restaurant, the Sunday market, the shop, the workers they have (all so nice!!!) I can't say anything wrong with this place. What a treat and a blessing to have been there for 10 days. Next time I will stay longer. Thank you to everyone at Samadi, esp. Also Damien's apprentices who guided me through my Mysore practice. The cleaning ladies, the restaurant workers! The incredible Yin classes I did too! I am rambling but it really is a special place. Thanks again everyone!
I was meant to stay only three days at Samadi Bali but ended up coming back after staying in some other places for some nights because I was spoilt the moment I entered this place.
A friend of mine recommended this place to me, because she had joined the Yoga classes during her stay in Canggu, but I booked a room for the first three nights of my stay in Bali, so I got the room experience as well. I arrived late at night and even though there was nobody around I felt at home straight away, I found a welcoming letter in my room, explaining everything I needed to know for the first night, and they had even provided a mobile phone in case I would have to talk to the person in charge or order some food.
On the one hand the rooms have a very modern and stylish furniture, but still it seems as so greatest care have been given that everything is as environmentally friendly as possible. The rooms are big enough and so are the bath rooms. You will find fresh filtered water in glass bottles every day.
There is a fridge, a kitchen sink and a cooker in the outside area as well as a table and some chairs. So if you like you can even prepare your own food. And there´s a very nice pool if you need to cool down or have a swim. The whole area is very well kept.
All the food and the drinks I had at the little cafe, which is open from 8 am to 3 pm, was just wonderful. The fruit salads and the pancakes made of rice flour were my favorites, but anything else I had was just as good. The reason why I came to Samadi Bali in the first place, was to be close to the Yoga shala, as I wanted to practice as much as I could during my stay. I attended many different Yoga classes and they were all very good: I attended Ashtanga Mysore practice, Asthanga led class, Vinyasa classes and Yin Yoga classes. You can feel that the teachers love what they do and they are all very dedicated and know what they do. All the staff was very friendly and always very much commited to help me with anything I would need. I would definitively come back to this wonderful and extremely relaxing place, should I ever come back to Canggu.

I recently discovered Samadi and I can’t recommend it enough. It has a large pavilion set up for yoga, surrounded by lush gardens that are private and quiet.
I’ve found the Vinyasa classes with Ailise excellent. She corrects positions where necessary which has really improved my results and posture. Ailise also gives insight into the yoga theories present in each pose which I have not experienced with other teachers before and I think it brings an extra dimension to the classes. Every class is different from the last which keeps it fresh and interesting.
Samadi also has a great café for healthy delicious food. The Sunday organic markets are also terrific. Great fresh produce from local suppliers, herbs and spices, homemade breads, yoghurts and traditional jamu for sale. It’s something I’m now scheduling in for my weekly shopping!
Beautiful and quiet place, perfect to chill out all day long, great breakfast, healthy menu with some indian style's dishes also. Great yoga with damien and Andrea senior's ashtanga teachers. Community with nice regular events and every sunday market. Smart idea ! Love this place.

Once you were in the place, you wont get out. You're on your sanctuary area, the feeling when you are inside, and the surrounding. Either you join a yoga class, having a meal or two, or just spend nights on their room. A must visit place when you are in Canggu area.

Amazing yoga, facilities were good. Food for breakfast and lunch was great for vegetarians. Location was good for peace and quiet, but difficult to get dinner easily. You need to be able to drive a scooter, or be willing to wait for up to an hour for a taxi to go anywhere.

The class I attended here was really fantastic. The teacher pushed us all but also let us go at our own pace. Afterwards I stayed for lunch and the papaya and mango salad was delicious. They also have a pool out the back which is great for a swim after a 1.5 hour class! I would recommend this place to all yogis - beginner or experienced.
I came to Samadi a few times for breakfast and joined in the Mysore yoga class. Yoga here is excellent with great teachers and the sound of trickling water underneath your feet. Follow up your yoga class with a healthy, wholesome vegetarian breakfast and feel good for the rest of the day! :)

The restaurant at Samadi Bali plays an important role in the centre. After practising yoga, enjoying light, nutritious and good food is important. At Samadi Bali it is even more important as they are not many organic, tasty restaurants in the neighbourhood. And the food at Samadi Bali is local, some even from their own garden. A fine experience to recommend to all visiting the Canggu area.Visited July 2015

I didn't try the food there but the yoga was amazing. I only had time left to do two classes by the time I found them and am gutted that I was so late to them. I had tried a few other studios and shalas but none of them had quite the same feel as here. They were real teachers rather than instructors and helped to find what was working and not working or me. All of the staff there were great from the front desk to the shala. I took my sister there who had struggled to find somewhere that suited her well around Seminyak and Canngu and she was also delighted to find it. I couldn't have asked for anything except more time to spend with them.Visited June 2015
