Program
You will be immersed in a local surf and Costa Rican cultures by your effervescent host, Jeffrey Baltodano. Group lessons have a maximum of three people per instructor, making sure you are training with other surfers on the same level with personal instruction. We also offer Semi Private lessons which have 2 guests with 1 instructor. And finally, for those looking to really take their skills to the next level we offer private 1 on 1 surf instruction with our ISA certified surf coaches!
There will be one surf lesson daily for six days in the mornings when conditions are best. If you want to add more lessons we can accommodate that on site. After that, you can center yourself with a peaceful yoga lesson and find your inner balance. Or, you can release and rejuvenate with two intoxicating full body messages (one hour each). Your package also comes with one activity of your choice.

Wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys stretching their vocal cords off in the distance. Time for a fresh cup of coffee or whatever moves you. Off to the Safari facility for a pre-surf snack of fresh fruits and banana bread and then meet up with your surf instructor.

Upon your arrival at Safari Surf School facility, your instructors will have you paired up with fellow surfers based on your surfing level and abilities. Boards waxed and rash guards on, it’s time to hit the beach through Safari Surf School private path to the sands of Playa Guiones. Some stretch to smooth out the kinks and into the H2o for a surfing lesson with their top notch ISA and lifeguard certified instructors.

Body and mind craving nourishment after an awesome surfing session, you get back to Olas Verdes, rinse off the boards and jump in the pool to refresh while your gourmet breakfast you just ordered off of the menu is being prepared. Share the morning surfing experiences among new found friends as you feast on a fresh healthy meal.

Time to explore! This is your time to explore the many offerings that Nosara has to offer. Choose from a world renowned zip line to horseback tour to an amazing waterfalls hike. There are more activities to keep you busy than time for you to do everything. Or perhaps you prefer to read a book by the pool or the beach, take a yoga class or get a rejuvenating massage.

Back to the beach for Safari Surf School afternoon surfing session on your own if you like. Working on fine tuning your new found surf skills or dusting off the rust from years past, surfing during the late afternoon hours before sunset just seem to clean the soul.

Having rinsed off the day with a clean crisp shower, it's time to get your dinner groove on. Whether you are headed out into town to one of the top restaurants or setting up tables at Olas Verdes restaurant, you will be immersed in some of the best culinary tastes the area has to offer. With a full menu access everywhere, you will feel free to let your taste buds roam.

For those who enjoy the nightlife, there are outlets to express your inner self. From the Tropicana for some dancing to Shaman for reggae night, or you may find yourself at a house party form a tip you heard on the beach. Wherever you find yourself, the night is yours to explore.

This surf camp is located in the gorgeous town of Playa Guiones, Nosara. Playa Guiones is nestled in the quiet, quaint town of Nosara in the Guanacaste Province on the Pacific side of the country of Costa Rica. Unlike the crowded beaches of places like Tamarindo, Jaco, or Dominical, in Nosara you won’t be trampled by hordes of tourists! There are little to no street lights or paved roads and there are still monkeys howling in the trees above. All the amenities needed for an amazing surf vacation experience are there in Nosara for you to divulge in. It’s a yoga & surfer’s paradise!
The town of Nosara embodies all of what makes Costa Rica the most desirable place to visit on vacation. It’s like a journey back in time where people wave at you as you pass by and greet you with a smile, always willing to help, where old cultural ways integrate seamlessly with the new wave of today’s younger generation. Nosara has few paved roads, and fewer street lights, monkeys still cruising in the trees, but Nosara does have the creature comforts you all have come to enjoy like Wi-Fi connection, ATM access, A/C, cable TV, shopping, etc.
What makes Nosara so attractive to people is that everything in Nosara revolves around the art and passion that is wave riding! The surf school location in Nosara is an extremely special place as it blends the cool vibe of a sleepy surf town with the wellness and focus of a world class yoga destination. Once you arrive in Liberia (LIR) you'll go through immigration and pick up any checked bags and then go through customs. Once past customs you'll exit the building and outside you will see all the shuttle drivers. Our driver will be there with a Safai Surf sign and off you go!
The drive is about 2-2.5 hours and the shuttle is private so if you wanted to or needed to stop for anything just ask the driver.
If you arrive into San Jose (SJO) we will be waiting for you outside of the terminal with a Safari Surf sign and off you go. The drive is 5+ hours.
