India has a massive coastline and some of the best locations to learn windsurfing in the world! The eastern coast of India receives stable and strong trade winds almost nine months per year, offering you a really long surfing season. Windsurfing is an extreme sport, but anyone who is fond of it can become a good windsurfer. The ocean in all of its shades of blues makes it perfect to plonk, swim around or indulge in a good book. Come experience a little something in this surfing heaven!
Quest Asia accommodation is located on an island. Tamil Nadu is scenic, the waters are blue, the horses are wild, the peacocks are plenty, and the people are curious. Surrounded by sand, the beach and the ocean are just a few feet away.
In an attempt to blend in with the surroundings, Quest Asia has a couple of simple beach huts and tented accommodation in Kathadi South. There are common washrooms with solar-powered showers. The two beach huts, perfectly designed for tropical conditions, are furnished with twin beds and the capacity to add an extra bed, if required.
All rooms are equipped with fresh linen, fans, and charging points. There are also four tent pods, designed for budget travelers, that can comfortably accommodate two people. There are two other tent pods, designed for larger groups who would like to stay together, that can comfortably accommodate four to six people.
Quest Asia will introduce you to various aspects of windsurfing, and teach you how to hone various skills on land before performing on water, all the while learning the safety rules. You will learn how to keep safe by learning how to assess the wind and physical location, use the safety systems, manage proper equipment, set-up, and control the windsurf equipment.
Quest Asia windsurf school is located in the state of Tamil Nadu, on the south east coast of India. The channel between India and Sri Lanka is dotted with islands and surf spots. Wind blows at an average of 18 to 25 knots all day every day during the summer season, which is April to September. In the winter season, which is December to March, you get afternoon winds of 15 to 20 knots.
Prices are inclusive of complimentary breakfast and tea or coffee. Lunch and dinner can be pre-ordered as a whole meal, or one can choose from the fixed small eats menu. The meals consist of fresh sea food, organic veggies coupled with lentils and rice or Indian bread. Quest Asia caters to a variety of flavors and welcomes your participation in adding your own touch to the menu. Since the location is remote, you should inform about your meal preferences in advance. Barbecues can also be organised on request.

Stand up paddling is an easier way to surf waves or just paddle the waters. The sport is fun when your balance is challenged by ripples or small waves in the water when you get started. In time, it is all part of the fun. Some skill learning followed by some practice, and you are good to explore, maybe even paddle around the islands. On a good sunny day, the hues of blue are enough to get you smiling and feeling satisfied, if you’re lucky you might even spot some marine life as a bonus to the exploration.
