This yoga holiday will also give you the opportunity to visit the blessed land of Costa Rica and to spend a few unforgettable days in the midst of Santa Teresa jungle, a little heaven on Earth.
Funky Monkey Lodge is hidden deep in the rainforests in a tranquil setting of Santa Teresa. Enjoy a refreshing dip in their swimming pool, read a book from their library, or take a three-minute stroll to access the beautiful Playa Santa Teresa. Funky Monkey Lodge is a friendly place with table tennis, lounge area, free Wi-Fi, and amazing food. All meals will be served at Funky Monkey's restaurant.
The schedule during this retreat is flexible. One can decide to do yoga in the morning and surfing in the afternoon, or vice versa. It is also possible to do yoga and surfing head to head in the morning, and have the afternoon off. You will normally surf at 7 a.m., 9:30 a.m., or 3:45 p.m, surf lessons are scheduled after ocean conditions.
The yoga schedules vary depending on the yoga studio. Throughout the retreat, you will enjoy five surf lessons and six yoga classes. The yoga classes are held at different yoga studios in Santa Teresa to provide you many different yoga styles and various hours to practice it.
The retreat can be customized. For example, you can add an extra day of surfing or yoga, a rest day, etc. Please contact Pura Vida Surfers with your request!

This retreat and surf camp will take place in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Santa Teresa is a beautiful beach town that many people return to. This is a perfect place to connect with nature and also with yourself. Despite being a small town, it is still adored by all those who discover its beauty. Whether you want to visit it for surfing, yoga, a holiday with your partner, family, or friends, Santa Teresa is the destination of your dreams. It is a friendly place with a mix of Ticos/Ticas and internationals.
Santa Teresa is located in the southern part of the Nicoya Peninsula. With its many wonderful beaches, it is an ideal place for those who love surfing or want to learn to surf. Santa Teresa also has many different yoga studios, as well as activities, in its biodiverse and beautiful nature. Some of the activities that one can do include horseback riding, ziplining, ATV tours, visit national parks, go fishing, just to name a few.
A daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served during this retreat. Food will be served at Funky Monkey Lodge restaurant, or a number of other selected restaurants in the area. Choose what you want to eat from their menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu is updated daily with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Fruits and water are provided after each surf lesson.
Transfer not provided
When you book your flight, you will first land at Tambor Airport (TMU) and then take a shuttle to Santa Teresa (the shuttle takes about 45 minutes). The land transportation fee is included in the airfare, given that you select Santa Teresa/Mal País (SNT) as your destination. Nature Air operates flights from San José to Tambor/Santa Teresa. To book your flight, simply go to their website and choose San José in the "from"-dropdown list, and Santa Teresa/Mal País in the "to"-dropdown list.
There is a direct bus from San José to Santa Teresa leaving daily from "Terminal 7-10" at 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. The ferry ticket is included in the price and you do not have to change buses when you get on or get off the ferry. However, you might have to change buses in Cóbano, which is an hour drive after the ferry. Normally, the bus driver tells you to change bus, but if you are unsure, just ask the driver.
Shuttles leaves daily from San José to Santa Teresa. If you stay overnight in San José, the hotel is normally able to help you arrange the transportation. You can also contact your hosts ahead of time and they will help you.
