Fuerteventura has perfect waves all year round: from beginner foamies to expert barrels and everything in between. Protest Surf Center's passionate and experienced surf coaches have been surfing here on the island for many years and know exactly where to go with you according to your level.
During the beginners surf course, you will learn the basics of surfing in a fun and effective way; taking foam waves without help, getting up on your feet, and surfing the wave until the beach. Once you master the basics, you will continue with learning how to take green waves, paddle correctly, get up to your feet before the wave breaks, and go sideways in both directions.
Protest Surf Center daily choose the beach with the nicest waves for your level, always with a sandy bottom to make sure you learn in a safe environment. The goal of the beginners surf course and skills needed to advance to the next level is to be able to:
In this surf course, you go deeper into the knowledge of surfing and will learn more technical and theoretical details to boost your level. Often times, you surf on rock bottom beaches with larger and more powerful waves with more paddling. For that, you work hard on paddle technique, body position while surfing, and board control on any given time.
You will learn how to start turning towards the power zone of the wave and pumping on the wall to generate speed and to try basic tricks like bottom turn and cutback. Protest Surf Center's teaching method goes step by step and ensures a fast, but solid progression. The goals of the intermediate surf course and skills needed to advance to the next level are:

"I almost cried when I had to get my flight back home. I had such a good time in Fuerte! My friend and I stayed in a separate house of the hostel, we had a private room and bathroom everything was nice and clean. The hostel had chill common places and we were mostly hanging out there."

"The first time I went with my daughters (nine and 12) and saw how competent the teachers were and how they looked after them. My daughters then took a further two lessons in a class that I did not attend. I knew that they would be well looked after and they had the best time. The teachers were fun and they learnt so much, no one was really clock watching either. The prices of the classes were very reasonable and the guys in the shop were incredibly friendly and helpful. They also have a photographer who took amazing shots of the kids. Would definitely recommend it."
"Had a great time surfing in Fuerteventura thanks to the people of Protest Surf School. They are very professional and you can see that they really love their job. Always kind, happy, and helpful. It was my first time surfing and I really fell in love with it. I will certainly come back in the future. Muchas gracias por todo."
"Our girls had a excellent surf experience thanks to you guys. Thanks a lot for the excellent classes to all instructors and a big thank you for the great help of Maria after a little accident. Saffie, you and your team, you are awesome."
"Excellent surf a school very friendly and great for beginners, lots of instructors who were excellent. My twin boys (13) thought it was great and will probably go back and have another go this week"
"Myself and a friend had previously booked with another surf school in Corralejo. After a day's break, we booked our final lesson with Protest (Saturday sixth December). Our only regret was that the other two days hadn't been with these guys. Our instructor (from Belgium, typically we can't remember his name) was hilarious, full of banter, however, more importantly a great teacher. We covered the basics in detail even down to the technicalities of paddling which was a huge help."
