Kite coaching with Youssef involves setting an objective each day, with briefings every morning, focussed tips and insights throughout the lesson, and analysis every afternoon so that you can understand your progress, and where to make improvements, all the while having tons of fun. Pro Kite Morocco has a proven track record getting people up and kiting for the first time, as well as taking their tricks and jumps to the next level. All levels of riders, from beginners to advanced, are welcomed.
You will be accommodated in Résidence Sahel apartments, located in Dakhla town.
There will be three excursions during this holiday. You will go to the White Dune, oyster farm, and Source Asna hot spring.
Every kitesurfer should experience the unique white dune, one of Dakhla’s unforgettable highlights. Advanced kitesurfers can travel there by downwinder, guided by Pro Kite Morocco, or you will be taken there by 4 x 4 from town or from the main lagoon, off-roading for around 40 minutes through the desert.
When there isn’t enough wind at the lagoon, which doesn’t happen too often, you will generally get three to five knots more at the white dune, so it’s a safe bet for Dakhla’s ‘lighter wind’ days.
The downwinder takes around an hour and a half from the main lagoon, and we sometimes encounter flamingos and even dolphins on the way. When you reach the white dune the 4 x 4 will be waiting for you with water and snacks - and a picnic lunch if arranged in advance - and then you can spend as much time as you like relaxing or kiting around this most perfect of spots, or until the tide goes out.
The ‘oyster farm,’ or ‘oyster park’ in French, is essentially Dakhla’s best restaurant. Think fresh seafood, fish, and vegetables grilled to perfection, or served up in a tagine, or some of the world’s finest oysters, caught minutes beforehand right in front of you. The oyster farm is not to be missed on any trip to Dakhla, and you can get there by land or by kite!
It’s set on a beach half way between the lagoon and the town, so we can pick you up from either, or organize a downwinder from the lagoon, for intermediate and advanced riders. You’ll kite for about 45 minutes through some completely empty flat-water spots, and pass closely by dragon island - which side of the island you’ll get up-close views of depends on the tide. You'll land your kites on the beach in front of the restaurant, and refresh with some hot mint tea and a seafood feast.
Wash the sand off with a power shower from the Source Asna, a natural hot spring just behind the main lagoon, before finishing up with a seafood spread fit for a king at the famous 'oyster farm' restaurant.
You will have breakfasts and picnic lunch at surf spot during this holiday.
