Inside every moment and every action is an opportunity to connect with life. By practising mindfulness through yoga and meditation it can enhance your every experience which is why it is such a perfect compliment to surfing. Surfing mindfully makes you acutely conscious of the water's energy and flow, much like a yogic breath, and can provide an experience which connects you to nature in a deeply profound way.
The physical benefits of practicing yoga as a surfer are, for example, improved balance, flexibility, lung capacity, and core strength, and it also decreases the risk of injury. This is why practitioners of both yoga and surfing benefit from the physical and mental enhancements of the combined exercises.

It’s all about having meals together, sharing together and meeting people with different backgrounds and interests that you might not meet otherwise. There is nothing better than coming back after day of surf and adventures to eat a delicious home cooked dinner. Prana Casa will do everything to make sure you feel like it’s your home away from home.
You will be staying in a double room or shared dormitory. The dormitory accommodates 2 to 4 people. The peaceful property is located on a spacious piece of land in the middle of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, on the west coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The entrance to the Rota Vicentina trail, the old fisherman's trail that follows the coast line, is in only 5-minute walking distance of the accommodation.
The retreat place features three bedrooms, of which two are twins with a shared bathroom (can be made into double), and one large dorm room with an attached bathroom (four sleepers). The house itself has a large garden boasting shady olive trees and an extended herb and vegetable garden. A salt water swimming pool allows guests to sunbathe and relax when not hiking or surfing. On most days, yoga classes will take place on the wooden yoga deck in the garden unless it rains in which case we all go inside.
Every morning will start with an energizing yoga class from one of Prada Casa's highly experienced yoga teachers, ranging from Hatha, Yin to Vinyaasa yoga, followed by a wholesome and varied breakfast. Surfers are then picked up by local surf instructors to spend the day catching waves on one of the beautiful local beaches. The day is then topped off with evening class which will be a restorative yoga class, a special Yoga Nidra session or a sunset nature walk to make sure you will get to see some part of the famous Rota Vicentina trail and witness the sun setting in the ocean. In the end of the day the group sits down to enjoy a freshly home cooked dinner and share stories of the day.
When taking a day off from surfing, you can choose to spend the day either relaxing by the pool, working on your own practice, or enjoying one of the many activities available through Prana Casa. These include mountain biking, hiking, surfing,horse riding and more and can be arranged before or upon arrival.

Eve has done a teacher training course with the emphasis on anatomy and physiology and traditional Indian Hatha. She feels blessed to be in close contact with two of her teachers Venky and Paresh who remain her loyal advisors. Her ambition is not only teaching but also inspiring people and to help people with any imbalances in mind/body.
The retreat will take place in Portugal's least developed region, the western Algarve, in the middle of the stunning Costa Vicentina Natural Park. The area boasts nationally protected nature reserves, pristine beaches, wild coastlines, and dramatic jagged cliffs. The peaceful village of the Casa is only a 5 minute drive to the nearest beaches famous for their excellent surf, and a 5 minute walk to the Fisherman's coastal trail for hiking.
Guests will enjoy home cooked, wholesome and balanced, vegetarian breakfasts and evening meals during their stay. On the chef's night off, guests can explore the incredible local cuisine the area has to offer. On a walking distance you will find a small supermarket and also some cheap restaurants to get your lunch/snacks.

There are various airports to fly into, the closest one being Faro Airport. From here, a 1 hour and 15 minute trip by car takes you to the west coast. You may also take a train or bus to Lagos, and then a taxi to the location. Prana Casa can happily arrange either a taxi and rental car for you.
There are also cheap flights flying to Lisbon (3 hours drive) and Seville (Spain), and there is good public transportation from there to Lagos which takes around 4 hours.
