Daily itinerary

Day 1

After picking you up between Santa Marta, Taganga, and Palomino, you will head to Camarones, where you will spend the afternoon with your first kite lesson, which focuses on the equipment and safety. The night is spent in cabins inside the flamingo sanctuary right on the beach.

Day 2

On this day, an early canoe ride across the lagoon will hopefully get you to observe flamingos from up close. You will take a short drive from Riohacha to the hostel. After lunch, it will be the time for the second kite lesson in Riohacha or Mayapo, depending on the wind, which will focus mainly on kite flying skills on the beach and in the water.

Day 3

On the third day, after a visit to the salt plains in Manaure, the road will take you through Uribia to Cabo de la Vela, Colombia’s number one kite spot. You will stay in a cabin in a Rancheria, a typical village in Wayuu culture.

Day 4

On this day, an excursion to the Pilon de Azucar will give you a great view over the arid landscape. The rest of the day will be reserved for pure kitesurfing fun.

Day 5

On this day, early in the morning, you can take a hike to the Devil's Cave to do some snorkeling and see the sunrise, followed by one more entire day of kitesurfing in the flat water of Cabo de la Vela. The evening program is a barbecue on the beach and a traditional dance performed by the indigenous Wayuu.

Day 6

Today is the sad day of departure from Cabo de la Vela, a unique place you will not forget. Praia Kitesurf will take you back to the hostel you were picked up from. The whole kite expedition can be customized for an interested group. It may be longer or can include different spots.

In Cabo de la Vela, you can take a hike to the hill Pilon de Azucar with a spectacular view and the go to Devil’s Cave for great snorkeling.
