If you are looking for more space and privacy, you may choose to stay in Villa Casa Verde, consisting of two rooms and a suite with private balcony, a large terrace and a private dining space. The villa accommodates 2 to 6 people and may be the ideal option for a family, but also for a couple seeking more privacy. The proximity to the hotel allows you to enjoy all the hotel services.

The Pousada Picinguaba is located half-way between São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and close to Paraty, in Brazil.

Twenty-five minutes by car is Paraty, part of the Brazilian national heritage. It can also be reached by boat or, for the adventure lovers, even by foot, taking the old footpath across the tropical forest. Paraty used to be the main port for exporting gold to Europe and is a unique example of a fully preserved 18th-century harbor town. This is mainly the only access was from the sea, for nearly two centuries.

Today, the beautifully restored town has unspoiled charms and traditions as well as a variety of gastronomic and cultural attractions: art festivals, capoeira, and festivals, both religious and popular. Local craftsmanship is also of a very good standard.

Paraty, unique in the history of Brazil and its colonial past, is a town rich in baroque art and architecture and steeped in adventure. It was the arrival point of the gold route which linked the inland towns of the region of Minas Gerais to the sea. One heir to the crown, Dom João de Orleans e Bragança, has his permanent residence in a magnificent palace overlooking the sea. He is a well-known figure amongst the local people.

Listed by UNESCO as World Heritage, Paraty is exceptional not only for its architecture but also for its strong local traditions, highlights of which are the popular events linked to the Espirito Santo (10 days in June), the Holy Week and the São Pedro celebrations in July, during which all the boats are decorated and meet in the islands of the bay. And of course, Carnival and New Year are also great moments.

Paraty is also an important cultural and artistic center, where old traditional families of craftsmen and modern artists meet. It hosts a film festival and a book fair, the FLIP (Festival de Literatura International de Paraty), that started a few years ago with investors from the UK and is now very successful. The region's extraordinary quality of life has long attracted artists from all over the world, musicians, painters, and sculptors.

Charming coastal town and capital of surfing in Brazil; Ubatuba means “the place of many boats” in Tupi-Guarani language. It was a big Indian village in the 16th century, where Hans Staten, the famous German explorer is famed to have lived. In the heart of the Natural Park of Serra do Mar, at the foot of the mountain range which contains the plateau forming most of the central and eastern part of Brazil. The hey-days of this town were in the early 19th century when it was a leading port for the coffee trade, the foundation of the affluence of the State of São Paulo and the region of Parnaiba.

After decades of oblivion, a road was opened from Taubaté to the Rio-São Paulo expressway in 1969. Then the Rio-Santos road was built in 1974, which gave birth to a small trend of touristic development. Sadly, the colonial houses that existed, similar to those of Paraty, were pulled down, in a wave of sweeping modernism, in the seventies. However, the town retains a certain charm: thanks to its remoteness, it has many traditions and its own lifestyle.

There are various bird-watching sites near Ubatuba, to which we can organize excursions. There are rare species such as the macuco (Tinamus solitarius) and the anambé-de-crista (Iodopleura pipra).
