This holiday is designed for all those who wish to approach kitesurfing for the first time and want to learn this brand new art. Join your hosts at Fuerteventura and enjoy kitesurfing lessons with practical and theoretical methodologies, learn how to assemble and inflate the kite, how to make a correct water start, a group session with an instructor, be independent in the water, improve the position of your body at sea, and above all, learn how to ride upwind to navigate freely in any sea in the world.
During this holiday, you will stay at an apartment at the Point Break Watersport Center Residence. The residence is located in the center of the beautiful Corralejo and consists of different apartments all overlooking the communal pool.
All apartments feature a lounge with a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom, and everything necessary for living and cooking. The place is ideal for those who want to surf, kitesurf, and windsurf in the ideal position that is bringing you directly to the spot on foot. Minimum of 2 persons are required to book to stay at Point Break Watersport Center Residence.
If you are alone, you will stay at Buenaventura Surf house sharing a room. The Surf House is well located in the city center, easily reachable by public transport.
The course is divided into two days of training and includes theoretical training, practice, and practice on the beach in water. The duration of the session of the first day is three hours.
Once you arrive at the school, you will choose together the correct measurement of the equipment from the trapeze, the life jacket, wetsuit, to the helmet. The quality of the equipment is crucial. Safety, a friendly environment, and a relaxed yet very professional tuition are the cornerstones of the school. The security situation and the high technical level of the qualified instructors will make your experience on the island unforgettable.
In the basic course you will learn how to assemble and inflate the kite, connect the lines, and understand all the important safety systems to enjoy this wonderful sport without unnecessary risks.
You’ll also learn how to use the kite, maneuvering the sail on dreamy beaches, and beginning to enjoy the wind in your hands. The objective of the first day is to be independent with your kite on the beach and to know how to handle a kite correctly knowing the exact operation.
The second day consists of three hours of instruction in a group session with an instructor for every three students to guarantee that you have the maximum attention. The lesson will take place in the wonderful ocean of Fuerteventura, where you will get to with their boat and they will carry out the lesson directly in water.
You will start with the bodydrag exercise, where you learn how to control the kite and your body in the water. You will later figure out how to correctly retrieve your board every time without losing control of the kite.
Finally, you will learn how to make a correct water start in order to navigate to a few tens of meters. The second objective of the day is to be independent in the water, knowing how to raise the kite, how to recover the board, check kiting and board together to ensure a secure water start.
Seeing as kitesurfing is a sport where you are attached to the equipment, it is important to be guided into the world of varied kite equipment. The knowledgeable staff will satisfy your needs with a wide range of accessories of first choice. The materials used for courses, entirely provided by your hosts, are of the brand Wainman, a manufacturing company of leading kitesurfing in Hawaii.
At the end of the second day, you will know perfectly the technique for controlling a kite on the beach but especially in water. At this point, you can decide whether to continue to practice with your hosts, of course, the goals will change and you will learn how to hold an edge for hundreds of meters, correct the position of the body at sea, learn to sail with only the edge of the board, and above all, learn how to ride upwind to navigate freely in any sea in the world.
Stefano's first encounter with kitesurfing was back in 2001 in Brazil when he was thunderstruck. From that moment on, all the decisions that he has made in his life have had everything to do with this wonderful sport. Today, after years of teaching, he manages the school along with this great team of instructors to give the best possible service to the customers.
Mario has been kitesurfing since 2003 and he thought about becoming an instructor since 2008. One reason is to follow a dream and the second is to see the world. So he did it from Italy to Mexico, from Venezuela to Australia, and New Zealand. He tries to convey passion and responsibility with all the irony and professionalism you need.
Daniele started windsurfing in Sardinia when he was 15, in 2008. He learned to kitesurf and later he received the title of instructor. In 2010, he came to live in Fuerteventura and started practicing surfing and stand up paddle boarding. The waves are his passion. In fact, he finds that he is most dedicated when he rides the wave.
Andrea started kitesurfing in 2003 and started to teach in 2005, becoming an IKO instructor. Since then, she started traveling and always tried to transmit this passion to others. After 2012, she has been living in Fuerteventura and now to her, this island feels like home.
Pol is 22 years old and has been surfing since he was 16. He's been teaching for more than one year. He has to say that his biggest gratitude is giving lessons to children.
