"We have been coming to Santa Teresa a couple of years now and thought it's time we should learn some Spanish. We connected with the school and Gustavo came to our place for private lessons. Gustavo is an excellent teacher giving us the basics to get by and continued with more grammar and vocabulary. We feel so fortunate to have met Gustavo as he is such a great combination of talent for teaching and an interesting and kind person to spend time with. Very patient too...as we were a challenge not having any previous Spanish lessons. Would highly recommend this School, it was fun."

"We were lucky to spend one week of surfing and Spanish course in this little paradise. The Perfect Sunset School is surrounded by tropical forest and lies within 5 minutes from the most gorgeous beach I've ever been to - Playa Hermosa. What we really enjoyed about the surfing classes, were the in-depth instructions matched to our ability as well as the profound and personal feedback. Thanks to very small class size (we were 2 people), Spanish lessons really got me talking a lot of Spanish. The teacher created a very warm atmosphere that made learning Spanish seem easy. Also it was very rewarding not only to learn about the language but also about the culture of Latin America. The day trip on ATVs to the waterfalls and Montezuma was clearly a very memorable experience! Accommodation is basic, though it is clean and provides anything one needs. Last but not least as the name of the school already tells, the sunsets at the Playa Hermosa are really just perfect!"

"The week we spent in the PSS was perfect! The surf lessons with Gustavo were great as he gave very helpful, individual technical feedback and pushed us to a higher level. His passion for surfing is contagious. The Yoga lessons are in a very nice spot (Pranamar Retreat) a few minutes away from the camp and with a great teacher. If you're looking for a small, personal camp with basic but clean accommodation, just 5 minutes' walk from the most wonderful beach ever, this is the place to be! We highly recommend this camp."

"The sun, the beach, the people and everything had been great. We spent our vacation with my companion about 10 days in a private room and it was super silent, except for the sounds of the jungle, for those who live in big cities. All services had been excellent. The beach, the waves, and the teachers were perfect. I enjoyed the yoga classes and the excursions to the waterfall and jungle treks. The guys who organize everything were very friendly and cheerful, and always ready to help. It was a 100% happy experience. I will definitely be coming back!"

"I took two weeks of classes at Perfect Sunset School and was very satisfied. I love the small groups, great teaching methods, good location of the school, and the great support from the staff. Moreover, we went to waterfalls, amazing secret spots like an infinity pool into the mountain, and cool restaurants. The place had a lot of local spirit. It was the best beach break for beginners and intermediate surfers because of the empty line up and clean waves. I will come back for sure! Thanks to Augusto and Gustavo for everything."

"Our family, with 13, 10, and 7-year-old kids spent over 2 weeks with Gustavo and the crew for surf and Spanish lessons. Gustavo was very accommodating and flexible. He worked great with the kids and parents, and even helped me change a flat tire on my car! He obviously loves to surf. The Spanish lessons are great for everyone as well."

"I came to the perfect sunset school looking to improve my surfing and get a jumpstart on learning Spanish. What I didn't realize was how amazing it would be to meet and hang out with locals and other travelers from all over the world. Gustavo, professor extraordinaire, is a very warm and welcoming host. He makes sure you are comfortable and have everything you need while staying at the perfect sunset in playa hermosa. He is a fantastic instructor -- he helped me with my surfing a lot. He knows every surf break from Costa Rica to Mexico and can answer any questions you may have about the waves, surfboards, or anything else. He also is a very effective Spanish teacher. After the first day, Gustavo was introducing me to local people and having me practice the Spanish we had learned that day. The perfect sunset is a quick walk to the beach so surfing in the morning and afternoon is very easy. The beaches are extremely beautiful and uncrowded. There is also a grocery store right below so it is easy to get water, food, and anything else you may want. I would highly recommend staying at the perfect sunset if you're looking for a great experience in Costa Rica!"
