Yoga twice a day (7 am and pm, except on Sunday): great classes and they mixed up the teachers providing a varied experience.
Mountain biking/SUP/Surfing: All three were great: I'm a novice to mountain biking and surfing and I had a blast!
Unbelievable. I know it was a solo trip but didn't feel like it. The manager Nancy, the volunteers and the invited yoga instructor were amazing. They went out of their way to provide a welcoming fun atmosphere (inviting me to the beach/activities with them, just friendly all around). Honestly, I don't even know if they were going out of their way as they are just amazingly friendly people, just seems like they were being themselves.
My time at Peace Retreat will be one that I will never forget. Mlyna was a wonderful host and made my stay very enjoyable and entertaining. Her yoga classes (as well as the other two instructors) were amazing and I always left feeling rejuvenated and stronger than the day before. My yoga poses have improved significantly and my instructors at home are surprised with how much I grew in a week. Restorative yoga on the beach was my favorite! I will definitely be back!

This place is wonderful! So calming and peaceful and the people here are just so diverse, it brings so much more to your experience!
The zen that overcomes is incredible, I felt like I was in Bali (I have never been). When we left, I was just one another level of peace (and a little sore!). Don't let me fool you, the class was amazing and taught me many new moves which helped me discover some new muscles! I loved looking around the class and seeing different levels/styles achieve these poses!
Such a great place you have to come and try! Hopefully the monkeys say hi...after class:) Pura Vida!

We had a lovely week at Peace Retreat. It is a perfect destination for yoga, R&R, self-care, and self-discovery. You can enjoy a laid back experience by the pool and beautiful beaches or choose to participate in one or more of the many excursions available. Peace Retreat is the perfect blend of "off the beaten path" with a few great options of restaurants nearby to enjoy. If you are looking for a place to unwind and get off the grid for a moment, this is it! The staff is warm and welcoming and on several occasions the owner as well as the manager went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was even better than we expected, with fresh made and healthy food options that fit the needs of all of our various diets. The Yoga room is beautiful and the overall decor and layout of Peace Retreat is unique and thoughtful. You get the experience of living among nature with the amenities of staying at a nice villa. We brought a group of 20 and I can honestly say everyone had an extraordinary experience. We will be returning to enjoy Peace Retreat again next year.

I planned my trip not knowing that Peace Retreat existed and what a wonderful surprise it was when I came across it, it changed my entire trip in a fabulous way. I stayed in a little cabina in town and was a ten minute walk to the retreat. There instructors, class's, programs and environment where top notch and gave me a very heartwarming experience that I will bring everywhere I go in life.Even though I was not a retreater and staying in one of their cabins I was welcomed with open arms to every class. I attended every 7 am donation class during my month long visit to Costa Rica and every one was a new mind opening experience. The people that work there are super friendly and welcoming, the crew of volunteers where energetic and caring. I created most of my friendships during my stay with the people visiting/working at this retreat and I will cherish them for the rest of my life.
Nestled within the secluded jungle in a small surf town called Playa Negra, Peace Retreat is a true oasis. I am staying here for a month escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city. From morning yoga classes, fresh local fruits, and vegetables, and wonderful nightly sunsets on the nearby beach of Play Negra the time to rest and relax is never far from manifesting. A wonderful and safe community surrounds the property with friendly locals and a few tourists here in search of the perfect wave you always have days filled with friendliness and smiles. I would recommend this retreat to anyone looking for some time alone to think, thinking of upgrading or beginning a yoga practice or even those interested in renting out the entire place for a company getaway in paradise. The onsite staff and volunteers are passionate, friendly and committed. Love it here - can't wait to come back.
I volunteered at Peace Retreat for two weeks this summer and I am still struggling to find the words to properly describe how amazing the whole experience was. It is impossible not to be inspired in a place as beautiful as this. Highly recommended to anyone looking to deepen their yoga or meditation practice. It's so easy to fall into the daily routine at this resort and I felt completely welcomed from beginning to end. I didn't want to leave!
I picked Peace Retreat for my first solo adventure and I couldn’t have asked for anything better! I spent four days at peace retreat and every second seemed magical. I wish I had stayed longer! The setting in the middle of the woods away from all the hustle and bustle was exactly what I needed to unwind and re-connect with myself. The yoga classes were great and made you sweat but didn’t challenge you too much, so it still felt like a vacation. The breakfast was always fresh, which made me feel connected with nature. Kevin was really helpful and helped me plan my short trip. I did zip lining on day one, followed by surfing classes on day two and then a final trip to Tamarindo right before I left for the airport. Overall, it was a vacation of a lifetime and I will definitely go back!

I can absolutely recommend this place if you're looking for a peaceful and serene environment, super friendly and attentive staff who will treat you like a friend from day-1 and much more! The village of Playa Negra is small and sweet, you're about the 10-minute walk to the beach and there are a few very good restaurants within walking distance. The yoga classes are the bomb at the Peace Retreat, other than that there are plenty of inexpensive activities you could book with the help of people who work there. I did surfing lessons, the trip to Rincon Volcano and two massages.
I spent three weeks in this paradise and couldn't get enough! Hope to be back soon!!

I took a last minute (much needed) escape from New York City and couldn't have been happier with my choice to stay here! My only regret is that I didn't stay longer!
I came solo for 5 days and it was amazing! Not only is the retreat in a beautiful setting but everyone is so friendly and welcoming! I loved how personable everyone was! I immediately felt like part of a family upon arrival! A bunch of us went out on adventures together and enjoyed relaxing by the pool during our down time! Kevin was always available to help book excursions and cabs for us!
The yoga classes were great.I felt challenged but also not pressured into exceeding my limits! Daily breakfast was always fresh and delicious! The entire retreat was constantly clean (huge bonus for being in nature)! Such a great experience all around!
I set out on a solo adventure, I didn't know what to expect. What I got was a home feel, with amazing people, connected with themselves, and the earth, acceptance, presence, and a lot of yoga. I carry the experience in my mind as an amazing experience I would relive yearly!

I spent four weeks at Peace Retreat and it wasn't long enough! I can't say enough good things about Peace Retreat. From the moment you walk onto the property you get a sense that it is a special place. Just as the name states, you get a sense of peace. If you are looking for a place to connect with yourself, and also connect with others, this is the place. If you enjoy yoga, then this is the place. With two classes a day and a rotation of teachers, it is the perfect place to advance your practice and ground yourself. The volunteer staff is wonderful and are always ready and eager to help you in anyway they can. The beach is a short 15-20 minute stroll away with a few different restaurant options along the way. The room options vary from stand alone cabinas with shared bath (which by the way is great- open air sinks with private stalls for toilets and showers... don't be afraid of the "shared bath"... it is set up very well) to suites with private baths all the way to the top floor with its own kitchen and private roof top patio to enjoy the sunset. There is also a community kitchen to store and prepare food if you are in the cabinas or suite without the kitchen- it is very well organized with everything you need. It is a nice way to connect with the rest of the guests. Be open to the experience and you won't be disappointed with Peace Retreat, I promise you that.
Peace Retreat is a very special sanctuary for those who need time to relax, escape and connect with nature and themselves. This is my first time traveling anywhere by myself, and I am so grateful I found my way here. I've met wonderful new friends, who inspire me to break out of my comfort zone and travel farther. As a yoga teacher, it's been a wonderful experience to practice up to twice a day (every morning at 7am and most evenings) and learn from fellow teachers. If you come as a volunteer, you can also teach a yoga class that counts toward your hours for the day.Peace Retreat offers comfortable and clean cabinas for volunteers, rooms for guests and a community pool and kitchen. All of which are kept up with and cleaned regularly by volunteers or staff. It's an easy 15-minute walk to the beach from Peace Retreat. Be sure to go check out a beautiful Playa Negra sunset on the beach! There are a few small markets close by to purchase food to make in the communal kitchen. Everyone cooks and eats together, and it's a lot of fun. Great way to get into cooking. The wildlife here is pretty awesome and diverse. Lots of iguanas, geckos, wild horses and howler monkeys. The monkeys are the perfect alarm clock to get you up in the mornings for the 7am yoga class.I've never experienced anything like Peace Retreat, and it's been one of the greatest times of my life. We all need time for ourselves, and this is the perfect place to treat yourself to some peace and relaxation.

Set in the beautiful lush jungle of Costa Rica lies a secret hidden gem which is certain to restore and revitalise your body, mind and soul. The Peace Retreat is a unique destination which allows you to reconnect with yourself. It attracts like minded people to yourself whom you are bound to grow close to quickly.
The daily yoga classes offer a variety of different styles and teaching techniques, and the studio itself is huge, light and airy with a beautiful wall of trees along one side. As a teacher myself, not only have I been able to share my practise, but also have learnt so much from the incredibly strong teachers that teach her.Perfectly located close to the beautifully quiet beach of playa negra, and far from any main road, you are completely emersed in jungle life. Falling asleep to the sounds of the rain on the roof of your cabins, to waking up to the sound of the howla monkeys - you're constantly reminded of the amazing environment that you're residing in. The only regret that guests have during their stay at Peace Retreat is that they haven't come for longer. Thank you for the most incredibly perfect, educational and special stay peace retreat!
Keep doing what you're doing
After the sudden and unexpected passing of both my best friend and my first love, I approached my yin teacher with an advice based question. I had a month free from school but was considering volunteering overseas. She immediately suggested Kevin's Peace Retreat. Peace Retreat is nestled in the jungle along Playa Negra. Black silk sand, inquisitive insects and laid back surfers are typical encounters on the trails.I enjoyed the individual special projects and the closeness of the group. The women I connected with were strong, independent and created a great retreat community from my chaotic Canadian lifestyle. Thank you to Kevin and those women as well as the community of Playa Negra - especially Willy, Lula, Mo and the hosts at Jalapeno for teaching me how to heal and embrace la pura vida. Namaste!

It has been seven months since my weeklong visit at the Peace Retreat and I have been meaning to write an extensive review, but life and work have been busy. But no matter how busy I get or maybe because I am busy, I miss the days at this simple retreat.
The Peace Retreat was the perfect spot for relaxation and to unplug. There is no hustle and bustle here. My friend and I stayed in the Samadhi Suite on the third (top) floor of the main building. The suite had its own bathroom and kitchen. This retreat was the perfect place to unwind. We could start the day with a cup of coffee on the suite's rooftop balcony or the balcony outside our room. Then we spent the morning in yoga (my friend) or morning / early afternoon lounging by the pretty pool (me). It was so quiet there. No televisions in the rooms. And there was Wi-Fi available if you wanted to go online.
The small town and beach are a 15-20 minute walk away, so pack your walking sandals if you plan to venture out, these are not smooth paved roads.
We did not partake in any packages, but we met others who had and they seemed to be enjoying their experience. I would definitely recommnd this retreat to others looking for a quiet and pretty place to unplug from a busy life.

I travelled solo to Peace Retreat in beautiful Playa Negra for 10 days in August. Being a first time solo traveller, and having limited time and budget, I had done a fair bit of research into where I should stay during my time in Costa Rica. From the moment I stepped onto the property I knew I had made the right decision. Peace Retreat, is set on a beautiful property complete with resident iguanas and howler monkey's! The rooms are clean, cozy, and comfortable but don't kid yourself, you're not going to want to spend any time in them! You will find yourself drawn to the cool, refreshing pool, taking a walk around the grounds, spending time in the yoga studio, taking the easy walk down to the town and beach or connecting with fellow travellers in the communal kitchen.I immediately felt connected with the other visitors and never felt like I was 'alone'. The morning yoga classes set the tone for the day and there really is nothing like laying in savasana with the morning breeze washing over you. Aside from the great yoga and amenities, one of my favorites parts about Peace Retreat was the ability to connect with locals. Many of the residents speak English and are readily willing to use their personal vehicles as a means of transportation for you. Due to this, getting around the area whether for groceries or sight seeing is safe and easy. The town of Playa Negra is a bit off the beaten path for many tourists and as such you really feel like you're getting the whole town to yourself! However, if you're looking for that touristy vibe, Tamarindo is an easy drive, 30 minutes north. Kevin, the owner, is very hand on and is readily available to answer any questions you might have before arrival and will do anything to help you out while you're there. Don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it!
Peace Retreat offers a really beautiful simplistic space that fosters an opportunity to truly connect to yourself. Being surrounded by palm trees and mango-eating monkeys really encourages you to slow down, disconnect from your daily roles, and connect to the aspects of life that matter most. Although I came alone, there were other individuals that came either as couples, friend groups, or yoga retreats and the space really held its integrity in all of the different realms. The place has a magical way of bringing together individuals on varying journeys with similar intentions, and really creating a sense of community
As the name suggests, Peace Retreat offers a peaceful atmosphere that feels very much like a hidden gem. It's located in Playa Negra which feels more rooted in local culture than the more populated, touristy spots such as Tamarindo. This is not a place you go to if you're looking to bar hop, shop, or surround yourself by various amusements. If anything, it's the complete opposite: you're deposited into a quiet location with very few distractions. There's a pool, a kitchen, a bathroom, a yoga studio, and you.I think what's nice about this place is that, in some sense, you're provided a blank slate on which to draw. There's an optional morning and evening yoga class each day but otherwise there's no structure imposed upon your experience. You can sleep, read, layout by the pool, cook, walk, visit the beach, the possibilities are endless. I felt inspired to fill that blank space with creative projects of my own but I was just as happy doing nothing. The uniqueness of this retreat is not just the physical oasis that's been created but the people who flow in and out of this space. Traveling allows me to meet a host of interesting people and characters but this spot, in particular, draws unique individuals. They are interested in slowing down, in reflecting, in practicing mindfulness and creating a unique experience for themselves that goes beyond sun, surf and sand. Highly recommend!

I write this review as I sit by the pristine pool at Peace Retreat, listening to relaxing sounds of the gentle waterfalls, and soaking up some warm Costa Rican sun. Today is the last of my two week stay here, and I am leaving feeling revitalized. Kevin, the owner of Peace Retreat, creates a unique community experience. One I really found myself settling into. The yoga classes are taught by Kevin, as well as volunteers at the retreat (including myself during my stay) and local practitioners. As you may imagine, this allows great variety and an abundance of insight into the yogic world. The studio is open air (with screens) and extremely spacious. The art: painted murals, intentions, and mantras scattered throughout the retreat add a beautiful sense of creativity, playfulness, and inspiration to the space. Playa Negra, a beautiful beach and pretty epic surf break, are about a 15-minute walk through the jungle path, which can be accessed from the retreat grounds.I would also recommend checking out Playa Blanca (a secluded white sand beach with gorgeous shells and some snorkelling) and Playa Avelliana, if you like to surf. Either of these beaches can be reached by taxi. Board rentals are available in town or in Playa Negra and Avellianas at the beach side. Peace Retreat offers access to a community kitchen, so most nights were spent whipping up something fresh or sharing a community dinner. Grocery stores are limited in Playa Negra but local tiendas have most of the supplies you will need. If you are in search of fresh fish, meat or a wider selection of veggies and fruit, I would stock up in Tamarindo before making the trek into Negra. There are a few delicious restaurant options in town for healthy lunches & wood fired pizza dinners. Overall, I would sum up the experience here as uplifting, relaxing, and balancing. I am leaving this place grateful of the beautiful people I have met and space we shared, but also motivated to continue my journey with grace and determination. A great place to find your bliss in Costa Rica :)
Stayed at Peace Retreat for a total of three weeks. Went into the experience with no expectations on myself or the retreat. My mind was honestly blown since the moment I arrived, plan trees surround the retreat, monkeys were frolicking in the trees and howling, such an amazing first impression. I was so impressed with the pool it is so deep (10 feet) so it is so fun to swim in and refresh yourself. Beautiful hand painted pictures and murals all around the retreat as well. The walk to the beach through the "jungle trail" takes only 15 minutes and 20 if you slow down to fully enjoy the forest. Kevin the owner welcomed me with open arms ( literally) and I instantly felt at home. My experience has surprised me so much in just how much I got to know about myself and work through experiences I didn't think possible.
My stay at the Peace Retreat was amazing! There are different types of rooms available, I stayed in a cabina and loved it! I woke to jungle sounds and refreshing breezes in the mornings. The cabinas are open air, with screens on 3 sides, so I never felt disconnected from where I was. Free Wi-Fi is available in the common areas and some rooms. The beach, some shops, and restaurants were within walking distance.
Traveling on my own to Costa Rica was a little out of my comfort zone, I thought at the beginning of my trip. I had planned a stay at the Peace Retreat with a friend of mine only to have her back out at the last minute. I decided to brave Costa Rica on my own and take the trip solo! Having never traveled alone before I was a little nervous. This all changed as soon as I was welcomed warmly by the girls who were volunteers at the retreat! They were all so lovely and all so different, some from Canada, the U.S., Europe, and all over the world! I felt immediately at ease!
Peace Retreat not only has friendly staff and volunteers who keep the grounds impeccably groomed and wonderfully maintained but they also have Kevin, the owner and founder of Peace Retreat. After taking just one of Kevin's morning yoga classes I was sold by his teaching style! A challenging and unique class led by Kevin on my first day left me feeling reenergized after travelling and inspired to learn more about his yoga style. He places a strong emphasis on presence and consciousness throughout the practice and believes strongly in "keeping it real"!
This place is such a calming and centering place! I am so happy I came to Peace Retreat and am excited for the rest of my stay! This place is truly a peace of heaven!

I went to Costa Rica to disconnect from my stressing routine, and since I arrived in Peace Retreat I started to feel better. This is a great place to relax and have some personal time. The pool is just perfect to refresh after the amazing yoga courses and there is a nice beach close by. The cabinas are comfortable and I loved being surrounded by nature and to wake up with the light of the sunrise.

I came to the peace retreat to take a break from my busy life and it was exactly what I needed! The days were structured but I could still do whatever I wanted around the schedule. The food was very delicious and very healthy, and Kevin and the other volunteers were simply amazing. They were not only there to help with keeping things clean, but were also great to hang out with and there would always be someone with a listening ear. The yoga and meditation brought me a lot of happiness and inner peace. I learned how to let go of my suffering and became a better human being for it. To be in a place that was so open and warm and beautiful gave me enough energy to go back to my life with enthusiasm and zest for life. I've definitely learned a lot through this experience and I would love to thank Kevin and the volunteers for it. The place itself is very beautiful and the swimming pool is lovely, especially to jump in after a sweaty yoga practice. I would love to come back next year for another breather.

An extraordinary experience! I attended a week long retreat with my Pilates instructor and several of her other students, none that I knew very well. We had a loosely structured week enabling us to take advantage of all that the Peace Retreat had to offer: awesome variety of yoga instructors, great food, lovely company with the delightful volunteers and Kevin! The setting is simple and comfortable, enough to feel off the grid without being disconnected. The setting is naturally beautiful, relaxing, and perfectly set up for a getaway that is active, restful, and rejuvenating. Kevin effortlessly coordinated additional activities and services for us like SUP yoga, surfing lessons, a day at a nature preserve for horseback riding and hot springs, some did zip lining and rafting, and massage. The people we met through all these activities were friendly and helpful. While there were plenty of activities to partake in, there was lots of time for walks on the beautiful beach, sunning by the pool, and napping in a hammock. The daily walk along the jungle path to the beach and waking to the call of howler monkeys are simple pleasures I still miss. I'm looking forward to returning to the Peace Retreat!
Spent some treasured early mornings doing the 7 a.m. yoga classes at the Peace Retreat, sessions that are open to the community. Truly delicious. The space is beautiful, the facilities are fine, and the hospitality is genuine. Thank you Kevin. Thank you Ana. And all the other teachers whose paths crossed mine. A highlight of my time in Costa Rica.

I stayed a Peace Retreat for a month as part of the volunteer program and could not recommend it highly enough for both volunteers and guests alike. Kevin, the owner, has created a space where everyone feels welcome, part of a community, and relaxed. Before coming to Peace Retreat, I had a love-hate relationship with yoga. However, the yoga classes here, taught in many styles and good for many levels, made me fall in love with yoga. In addition to doing yoga, this is the perfect spot to relax on the beach, meet wonderful people, and take some time for self-reflection.Peace Retreat has beautiful and clean accommodations and an incredible yoga studio. It's so nice to wake up in the jungle every morning to the call of howler monkeys! If you're not quite sure yet, take the leap and go experience what Peace Retreat has to offer. You will certainly be surprised, but with an open mind, you will definitely not be disappointed. Thank you Kevin for a wonderful experience!

I cannot rate high enough the wonderful experience I found at Peace Retreat. I traveled solo to Costa Rica, which was a wonderful experience, and I recommend solo travel! This is a special place to be when on your own and for couples or groups as well. The only thing more amazing than the incredible guests and locals I met in Playa Negra was the gentleness of the owner, Kevin. Kevin attended to the sweet details of a true peace retreat for every guest. His yoga classes are amazing as well. I did my first handstand in class and it's a memory I'll cherish, feeling so strong and free. Being a beginner at yoga, I felt right at home in the care of such experienced yoga masters and would recommend the yoga for all levels. There is something to offer all. I stayed in a cabina which was very enjoyable for me. I was a bit nervous at first to book the cabina but glad that I did. It was very safe and very cool during my naps with an overhead fan. The retreat is a short walk to town and the beach, with sunsets that melt your troubles away. Everything is so serene and joyful - accommodations, yoga, food, guests, locals, ocean, breezes, and even some monkeys in the trees. My hope is to visit as much as possible this little heaven on earth. Thank you for making my stay so precious to me. Namaste.

Coming to Peace Retreat was a decision made in an effort to get away from life for a while. Try new things, experience new places, etc. While staying at Peace Retreat, I have had the pleasure of meeting lots of new friends, experienced deep care, and met more of who I am along the way. Not to mention the amazing yoga classes I have gotten to be a part of and learn so much from. Kevin and Hali have created an environment of safety, relaxation, and community. The rooms are open and airy, making you feel free and calm. The community space is clean and comfortable, creating an atmosphere of warmth and openness. I highly recommend visiting the space, but more than that, I would encourage experiencing this community for yourself, feeling the love and support while you are here.
Staying at Peace Retreat was such an amazing experience. Upon arriving, I felt welcomed and comfortable. Rooms were clean and cozy. The pool area, common area, and communal kitchen felt like home! There is an open-air yoga studio and yoga classes every morning. Waking up to a morning yoga class every day was a wonderful experience for me. Being a part of the volunteer program helped me to feel a part of the Peace Retreat family. I learned so much about myself throughout my stay. My experience was incredibly relaxing, enjoyable, healing, and fun, and I met so many wonderful people! Peace Retreat is a short walk from an amazing beach with some of the most incredible surfing I have ever seen. The water is warm and the sand is soft. Peace Retreat offered all it was that I wanted and more for my journey in Costa Rica. I will never forget my stay there!

It is easy to fall into place here! I've met many guests here for yoga teacher training, in-house retreats, and solo beach vacations. The owners, Kevin and Hali, have created a jungle oasis and great community that once you have entered, you will never want to leave. Be sure to check out Vanessa's down the road for custom bathing suits. Yoga in the morning, surf lessons in the afternoon, and plenty of fresh food in Playa Negra. Can't say enough good things about this place, from the environment at the retreat to the surrounding town.
Peace Retreat is amazing! Kevin and Hali, the owners, are wonderful! They treat you like absolute gold. The rooms were clean and comfortable, as were all the communal areas. It was a nice short walk to Playa Negra Beach, where you can learn to surf. Peace Retreat also offers daily yoga. My over all experience was so warm and special, I will definitely be back!

I cannot tell you what a wonderful and insightful time I had in Costa Rica with everyone. It was a trip filled with many ascensions for me - I was reading a book about angels (Conversation with Angels) in my cabina - I got to zip line which felt like flying - and I felt uplifted on a vibrational level by everyone I met on the trip, the food we ate, and of course the amazingly varied and challenging yoga classes and meditations. I don't believe that my signing up for this yoga retreat was a coincidence - I'm really grateful that I stumbled upon the retreat and everyone else who attended and facilitated the event. The experience has helped me begin 2013 in such a positive, peaceful, and hopeful way.

If you want hard, punishing, hurtful yoga, this is not that. After one full week at Peace Retreat, I am returning home nurtured, enlivened, and at peace. This is a natural beautiful, healing place of profound simplicity. The yoga strengthened my body, and my joints are open. I feel surging vitality and flexibility I have not known for years. I feel and look younger. From the moment I arrived I was embraced, accepted, and included. I simply took a deep breath and began to relax. I had no idea how much stress I was living with until I let go. If you want to strengthen, heal, relax, and rejuvenate, this is the place. Come soon; you will love it.

I am a 67-year-old woman and have been doing yoga for about 11 years. I have tried all kinds of yoga over the years and never become attached to any particular flow. My seven days at Peace Retreat were amazingly fun, transformative, and the best experience I have ever had doing yoga! The Real Evolution flow is the most organic yoga I have ever done; my body loved it! This flow felt natural, rigorous but without stress. I was more relaxed each day. I learned so much from Kevin, Hali, and my fellow yogis: the kind of learning that was and is sustainable physically, mentally, and spiritually. The week was well beyond my expectations. Kevin is by far the best teacher I have ever had. His clarity, energy, and ability to teach in a way that melts resistance makes the fine points of improving your practice so doable. Though Hali only taught one of our classes, she has many of the same gifts: her knowledge of the structure and anatomy of the human body is extraordinary. Peace Retreat itself is a wonderful and beautiful environment, a perfect atmosphere and climate for letting go, relaxing, and enjoying the Costa Rica that most of us never experience. Hali and Kevin are extraordinary, warm, and generous hosts. I will go back every year. I recommend everyone I know, those just learning or long time practitioners, to go and experience Peace Retreat!
