The purpose of this surf camp is that you learn the basics of surfing, accompanied by yoga and diving in Coiba Island National Park which is a lifetime experience. This is a soft surf camp, projected for those who do not have so much time to spare. Hostal Aguas Verdes is the last property on the road to the beach of Estero. Hostal Aguas Verdes is located by the entrance of the Estero beach. The rooms are in front of the beach. The accommodations are simple, comfortable, and new. Each studio room fits six people and the green rooms fit four people.


Rooms are in front of the beach, with private toilet, kitchen area, living room, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and refrigerator. The rooms are neither big nor small and located in a fresh and green area with a river mouth small estuary. The rooms fit more than three people.



The surfing classes are made in several languages by experienced surfers and trainers that can teach you surfing in the best fashion. The daily surfing lessons are complemented with yoga. They have foam boards and fiber boards depending on your level of surfing. The lessons are two hours daily in the morning. Panalive Tours always picks the best place on the beach. Santa Catalina is perfect to learn surfing because it has many options around that can suit all levels of surfing, from beginners to advanced. After the classes, you can practice by yourself in the afternoon because the hotel includes the use of surfboards.


Coiba National Park is a protected part of Panama because it is an UNESCO world heritage site. You will catch a fast boat from Santa Catalina with professional guidance of one of the best Diving operators in Panama. You will have two tanks to make two dives in different spots of the park, there are 38 islands and reefs to explore. Coiba is one of the best diving in the world because of its variety of species, some are endemic and some are seasonal like the whales, hammer sharks, giant manta rays seahorses and many more. Dolphins (bottlenose and pilot) and reef sharks are guaranteed to watch. This archipelago is part of a chain of archipelagos that starts in Costa Rica in Islas Coco , followed by Coiba ,Islas Pajarita (Colombia) and Galapagos islands. Lots of sea life follow this island's up and down. Panalive tours is sure you will enjoy this high quality dives.


The yoga teachings are for beginners and they are based on 100 Hatha yoga poses. They are made at the beach in front of the cabanas. Advanced yin yoga classes are done by Ian (one of the best teachers in Panama) at his yoga studio in town. To be a good surfer, you must have your body trained, strong and flexible, your muscles prepared for hard paddling and balancing, and your mind clear and free from any stress. The island tour with picnic or barbecue is made on the little island in front of Santa Catalina village. You will go by boat to explore and spend the afternoon at a deserted island white sand beach. The hiking tour, which takes about one hour, is made on a hill beside the village that has an incredible view of the sunset and surroundings.

Driving directions from Panama City

  • Go to Santiago de Veraguas which takes four hours.
  • Then, go south to Sona which takes one hour.
  • One kilometer before Sona, turn left onto Santa Catalina.
  • After driving for 35 kilometers, turn left in El Tigre.
  • After 15 kilometers, you are in Santa Catalina.
  • Once there, follow the signs to the beach of Estero.
