Join Paddle Moab for an exciting SUP camp on the Fisher Tower’s section of the Colorado River, Utah! This is the ultimate paddleboarding trip for any outdoor enthusiast. Camping with family and friends on this all-inclusive trip makes memories that last a lifetime. You must have previous stand up paddleboarding experience and basic paddleboarding skills to join this camp.
During this camp, you will be accommodated at Onion Creek Rapid with sleeping kits provided.
The length of this program is 21 miles. You will depart at 09:30 on day one and returns around 14:00 on day two. Previous paddle experience is not necessary but recommended. Paddling can be physically demanding so anyone going on the trip must be physically active. Four people are needed for the trip to go. If you are a group smaller than four, give Paddle Moab a call and they will see what they can put together. Please note that younger participants must be at least 16 and up. All of your overnight gear will be taken down the river by a support craft and will be ready for you at the camp.
Trip begins at the historic Dewey Bridge. This is a flatwater section called postcard alley. Rightfully named, the scenery is one of the most beautiful and photographed areas of the Southwest Desert. During the course of the day, your guide will be preparing you for whitewater stand up paddleboarding. Each of the guides is certified paddleboard instructors. The camp is at Onion Creek Rapid, the first rapid of the Fisher Towers Daily. The scenery at this spot is unlike any other. Once at the camp, you can relax on the beach or play in Onion Creek Rapid. Dinner is freshly prepared for you.
The day is started with a healthy breakfast. Once the camp is all packed up, it is time to put your stand up paddleboarding skills to the test. The Fisher Towers' section of the Colorado River is an excellent section to learn how to safely navigate whitewater. This section is a class II / III section. Class III will be during the spring runoff (April-May,) while class II is during the rest of the year.
