For this surf camp, you will be staying for six nights in a shared apartment in Corralejo, a town on the northeast coast of Fuerteventura.
Fuerteventura island is still mostly un-inhabited. Here, you can search for your own private spot across hundreds of kilometers of un-ridden waves.
This program for beginners aims to know how to swim and experience a sporadic surf experience. If you have never tried to surf before, this will be your first wave.
This course is formulated to bring you step by step to the theory and practice of surfing. Objectives are to learn the security measures; recognize the tides, currents, and different types of waves; choose the proper spot for your skills; and position yourself safely in and out of the water. Introduction to the boards and wetsuits, position and balance, paddling technique, take-off technique, and safety in the water are just some of the concepts that you will discuss during the course. %One day a week, there will be a theoretical lesson with video-photos analysis: tides, wind, and wave forecasts. You will learn about the Fuerteventura waves map, deepening of the spots where you will be taught, types of boards, error correction, and much more. During the course, you will use premium materials such as soft boards for absolute safety in water, different models and measures (softboard, shortboard, minimalibu, longboard), and O'neil wetsuits.
There will be 45 minutes of practice each day, and there will be a chance to learn theory bases like the sea storms formation, the different kinds of waves, the sea streams behavior, the tides, the different kinds of surf boards, and its history.
An intermediate course requires basic theoretical knowledge and properly standing up on a foaming wave. The aim is to surf your first green wave and learn to turn in a wave
Initially, your level of surfing will be evaluated, and you will review the basic concepts as necessary, depending on your level to achieve the goal prefix. The main target of the course is to learn to stand properly on green waves and to lead the board along the wall. This level follows the course for beginners and is designed to strengthen basic skills as well as adding new ones. Instructors during the course will follow you and give you tips to improve your surfing from the water. One day a week, there will be a photo-video analysis theoretical lesson. You will also learn about tides, wind and wave forecasts, map of Fuerteventura waves, deepening of the spots where you will be taught, types of boards, and much more.
There will be 45 minutes of practice in water while trainers will film your riding to analyze your skills and your errors. You'll quickly be able to realize your progress, and you will learn new tips and tricks for your level of improvement.
The expert surfers will find a personal training and the perfect waves of Fuerteventura for this course. With an academic concept and a specific training method, you will learn the most advanced riding techniques. In this level, you can improve your style and correct some errors found during a practice not targeted. During the course of surfing, you will focus on the intensification of advanced concepts and individual coaching. Advanced techniques such as the bottom turn, cut back, floaters and proper timing, are just some of the notions that will be discussed. You will learn how to handle the different types of board and you can try different sizes and models, according to the conditions of the waves. The professional surf instructors are perfectly familiar with the local surf spots, and also with the weather and how their effect on the waves. This will guarantee the best conditions during practice for the training, security, progress, and it will be lots of fun.
You will also learn how to handle the short-board and all its possible tricks like the bottom turn, the cut back, the floater, and so on. If you prefer, you can also learn the long-board techniques with all its tricks, like the cross-step, and the noseride.
The professional surf teachers play this sport from twelve years in the local surf spots, and they have confidence with weather prevision and their influences on the waves. This will guarantee you the best surf condition for training, security, and progress.
Paolo Stragliotto is a surfing teacher at Orange House. After being a rider in the action sports world in Italy for years, he decided to be more involved in surfing. He obtained the certificate as coach and instructor for surfing and bodyboard, recognized from Spanish and Canarian Surfing Federation.

Sara Mattana is a yoga teacher. After years of experience in the world of board sports and traveling the world, she is now a surfcamp's manager. She does her best to make your stay more pleasant in Orange House. She began her career with yoga during a trip to Australia in 2006 where she fell in love with this discipline and the easy going life style of relaxing and being in contact with nature and the ocean. Since then, she follows through and got the title of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, recognized by Yoga Alliance International at It's yoga Gran Canaria.
This surf camp will take place in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain. Located just 100 kilometers off the coast of North Africa, it is the second biggest of the islands, after Tenerife, and has the longest beaches in the archipelago.
