Canteras Studio
The Canteras Studio is ideal for surfer couples and families because it is comfortable, central, modern, and located in one of the best areas of Las Canteras beach, next to “La Cícer” (surfing area), “Las Arenas” shopping center, the auditorium, Alfredo Kraus congress palace, and the shopping area of Mesa y López. It is equipped with a living room, single beds, a kitchen, a shower cabin, a washing machine, towels, bed linen, Wi-Fi, and a television.
Agüita Hostel Gran Canaria
The Agüita Hostel Gran Canaria is one of the best surf hostels in Europe due to its stunning location, right over Las Canteras beach, the numerous nearby surf spots, the personal all-around service, and a very special infrastructure tailored for surfing requirements. They are offering shared rooms for four to six people. Their best room with a private bathroom and amazing sea view is El Frontón. The cheapest way to stay is in their six-bed dorms with a shared bathroom called Trinidad, which is included in your package.
You will probably like it best in their open-air chill-out area. also known as the “surfer’s throne over Canteras Beach”. Hammocks, deck chairs and rocking chairs, sofas, a barbecue corner, and an al-fresco shower that will make you want to stay forever, and their rooftop bar Coco Loco where you can enjoy an ice-cold cerveza tropical, the local beer. Not to forget the fantastic views of the sea, from here, you can check out the waves at sunrise while you are still brushing your teeth. Fully equipped is no empty promise.
The kitchen boasts a coffee machine, dishwasher, big fridge, stove, and microwave. As Oceanside Gran Canaria Surf lives in the surf house themselves, you will always have a multilingual contact in the house. They organize weekly outings to explore their multifaceted island. You can also feel free to organize barbecues with other surfers on the rooftop terrace. VA hostel Gran Canaria also provides a beach volleyball net, snorkeling equipment, high-speed Wi-Fi, a printer, Gran Canaria maps, and towels for free.
Trinidad is a downstairs dorm room with six comfortable single beds with solid wooden bunk beds and stylish curtains. Many long-term guests and backpackers enjoy the low rates while having access to all the comfort of the house. Around the well-structured concept of the room, there is enough space for your personal belongings in the wardrobe and the additional security lockers in the hallway.
This room shares the bathroom in the hallway but is only a few steps away from the door of your room. The rooms were renovated in 2016. La Barra is a four-person shared dorm. It is large, bright, and has a good concept of light and ventilation. In addition, the rooms were fully renovated and equipped with new beds and mattresses in the summer of 2015. If you are traveling with a lot of luggage and need your privacy, this is the perfect room for you.
Program
You will stay at a charming accommodation at the Playa de Las Canteras, relax, and explore the surroundings after surfing and challenging yourself in waves. Enjoy your time in Spain and release yourself in one of your memorable experiences. During the camp, you will practice two hours a day with qualified instructors. You will be divided into small groups of up to six pupils per instructor. Surfing equipment such as soft board and wetsuit will be provided. This is a good option for beginners who would like to try the sport in a two-hour surf course.
The lessons are structured this way. Firstly, you will check in at the surf school 10 minutes before the lessons start. You will then dress up in the school’s locker room, watch the video theory in the school, theory on the beach, warm up, practice in the sand, practice in the water, stretch, and back to the school. This camp also offers a monitor with the national surf instructor title, material such as board, wetsuit, and school lycra, use of dressing room, toilets, showers, and lockers, and civil liability and accident insurance.

The official Oceanside Gran Canaria surf school
Also known as the official Quiksilver surf school, it is located on one of the most beautiful urban beaches in the world, Playa de Las Canteras in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. A beach of blond and black sand in which, thanks to its average 24 degrees Celcius and the variety and quality of its waves, instructors can teach you surf, bodyboard, or paddle surf (SUP) 365 days a year. In this surf school, you can also rent all kinds of surfboards for beginners (soft boards), intermediate level (evolutive), and advanced surfers (PKS and PUKAS shortboards), Quiksilver and Roxy wetsuits, and all kinds of surf accessories.
Timetable
From Monday to Friday, you will practice surfing from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (winter time) or from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (summer time). On Saturday, you will have your lessons from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, you will enjoy surfing on waves from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You will have the option to sign up for a paddle surf course with a 15 percent discount, discounts in the surf shop, and can keep the surf equipment after the lesson until closing time for 5 EUR per day.

Arrival by plane
Please book your flight to arrive at Gran Canaria Airport (LPA). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request at 30 EUR per way. The van capacity is seven people maximum.
Arrival by bus
If you arrive before 7:00 p.m., Oceanside Gran Canaria Surf will meet you at their office. You can take the bus to Las Palmas city (San Telmo bus station) and from there take the local yellow bus Nº 17 and stop at two bus stops before arriving at the Auditorium or the shopping center Las Arenas. If you arrive after 7:30 p.m., you can go directly to Ocean Side Surf Hostel (if this is where you will be staying). You need to take the bus to Santa Catalina bus station and from there can walk to the Surfhostel: Paseo De Las Canteras Nº 53.
