Visited this area for about a week and was a great spot! Good winds and great kiteboarding. You can even see whales in the distance while you kite!!! What an awesome experience this was! Also, the food at their restaurant was SPECTACULAR!!! definitely worth a trip to visit!

My friends and I went to get the PADI Open Water Diving Certification with Santiago and I am more than happy to recommend him and Ocean Freaks.

He has the experience and had everything under control. He took care of everything, even when we contacted him with little time notice, had the equipment ready for all of us at all times, the pool, the boat, the tanks, the computers, our suits, absolutely everything and managed to deliver the course for us very well.

He introduced us to get our accounts and the app so we have everything available online. We went through all of the theory and he was there to answer all our questions, no matter how late it was he even made us space in his home and we could use his wifi.

While practicing in the pool and the sea he showed to be very experienced and in control of the situation at all times. He put our safety first always and prepared us for every situation. He knows the sea in Manta, and he knew when and where was appropriate to take us diving for our lessons. I will go back for more dives with Santi.

Bonus: His wife Monica makes an awesome tortilla española :)

Santiago is an awesome instructor! Very thorough, patient and always thinking about his students' safety first. He spent three whole days with us (group of 3) and made sure we had full understanding of both the theory and practice parts of scuba diving. He made it fun and interactive.

We started by learning the basics and practicing in the pool for 2 days to make sure we had a good grasp of things. We went for our first dive in the morning of the third day as the water was calmer and clearer at that time of day. We completed our four dives and were certified shortly after he felt confident we had learned all the skills necessary to dive safely on our own.

Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to for their Open Water PADI certification.
