"The staff is very responsive over email. We booked a surf lesson ahead of time, only to have bad weather forecasted for the next day. Surfing on a cloudy, rainy, windy day did not sound very appealing. However when I called to cancel, the staff member was very optimistic about the next day, saying we'd have nice thick wetsuits and be in a secluded bay. They also chose the location on a short notice basis so they can make sure the conditions are right. While the weather was windy and rainy, the person was right - great spot, wetsuits kept me absolutely warm, and our instructor Ben was very positive and friendly. We all caught waves. We also lucked out that the rain stopped for our lesson and the sun came out, only to rain again when the lesson was over, but I can't credit anything other than the weather for that!"

"Ive tried surfing back home and it seemed impossible. In my holidays to New Zealand I decided to try again since the waves were everywhere, and I'm glad I chose the O'neill surf academy since it was really worth. I started with an adult lesson with 3 more people and in the 2nd wave I was standing up. The instructors were really professional, explaining everything step by step making it really understandable and even giving water safety tips. After that I joined for a surf tour and it was great, 3 days full of fun with nice people where I could improve my surfing skills and enjoy different stunning locations. 100% recommended, and considering repeating!"
