Itinerary
Day 1: South Coast - Mountains
Your trip starts with a choice of one of the following:
- Surfing lesson on Kuta Beach
- SUP (stand up paddle board) lesson in Jimbaran Bay
- Sea kayak and catamaran in Sanur
- Wakeboarding / water skiing at Bali Cable Ski Park
- Urban cycle (Kuta - Seminyak)
After you've finished your chosen activity you will head towards your accommodation at Alamdhari Resort and Spa in Sideman (approximately 1.5 hour drive). Alamdhari Resort and Spa is a small boutique resort with a fabulous location, nestled perfectly between the sweeping rice terraces of the Sidemen Valley.
Sidemen is a quiet, traditional Balinese village surrounded by valleys, rice paddies and rice terraces with Mount Agung dominating the landscape to the north.
On the way you will stop at Masa Masa for some delicious Indonesian cuisine and a wonderful ambience amongst the old colonial style architecture. There is also some some great batik and local handicrafts shopping to be had in the Masa Masa retail outlets.
Upon arrival at Alamdhari you'll have plenty of time to settle in and then have the option of doing a short hike in the nearby hills to Gembleng Falls, also known as Heavens Gate. With great views over the Sidemen valley they highly recommend it.

Day 2: Mountains - North Coast, Amed
Choose between rafting the Telaga Waja River or a mountain bike ride to Amed:
- Raft the thrilling rapids through the lush green gorges of the Telaga Waja river. Rafters depart at 9:15 and finish rafting by 12:30 (lunch included). Depart for Coral View Villas in Amed by 13:30, arriving at about 15:00.
- Cycle from nearby Sidemen through the rice terraces and traditional villages of central and north Bali towards Amed. The ride can be adjusted according to your requirements and fitness level. Mountain bike riders can leave a little later than the rafters if preferred. Mountain bikers will finish their ride at the Coral View Villa in Amed and can arrange their own lunch there or nearby.
Coral View Villa is the perfect Amed getaway with immaculate gardens, large swimming pool, beachside restaurant, and direct beach access to a good snorkelling area featuring lots of colorful fish and coral.
Rest of the day:
- Snorkelling available straight out front of hotel or try the Japanese Ship Wreck or another location nearby (your guide knows the best snorkelling places in the area)
- Hiking: they have a delightful 6 km hike down a mountain valley road. The hike is approximately 1.5 hours, all downhill, passing through local villages and rice terrace farming areas with views of nearby hills and ocean. Note: If you don’t want to do the full 6 km, just tell the driver how many km you want and he’ll wait for you at the specified place
- Dinner: Gusto Resto or Trattoria - Both restaurants have an extensive Italian menu and sunset gorgeous views of the Bali ocean (included)
Day 3: North Coast - South Coast
Morning: You may like to have a short snorkel in front of the hotel before another activity or, since Amed is a diving mecca you might choose to spend the morning just snorkeling and exploring different dive sites around Amed.
If you choose a short snorkel plus another activity, your options are:
- Hiking: Choose between the 6 km mountain valley road hike described above (approximately 1.5 hours) or the more challenging hill hike just 10 minutes to the east of your hotel – hike time is about 2.5 hours – your guide will collect you at the finishing point near the top of the hill
- Cycling (approximately 3 hours): Bijang from East Bali cycling will take you to a local village about 25 km from Amed – you will ride on small roads through rice fields and villages enjoying the ride and learning a little about the local area – the ride is not too difficult so only moderate fitness required. You will have lunch at the end of the ride
- Try scuba: Experience the thrill of breathing underwater. Learn some scuba skills - try your first dive in a pool then do one open water dive in the ocean (30 USD supplementary cost)
- Scuba (for certified divers): includes 2 local dives in Amed area (40 USD supplementary cost)
- 13:00 Lunch in Amed – Warung Agung (included)
Depart Amed by 14:00. Drive home via scenic coastal road with stop for a brief visit to Jasri Chocolate Factory. Allow 3 hours to Kuta plus rest stop.
