During your stay, you will have the unique chance to go SUP in a natural paradise at the Caribbean, considered one of the most important ecological reserves in South America. The guides and coaches will take you by car or on foot to the best spots in the surroundings. This standup paddling surf camp is ideal for all levels.
You will be accommodated for four nights in a farm hotel just three kilometers from the main entrances of the Tayrona Park. You can choose between shared rooms or private bungalows both beachfront. The accommodation is chosen carefully to reflect local feel close to the key destinations and SUP spots.
You will arrive at Santa Marta on this day. Newtours Colombia will welcome you at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SMR), and you will be transferred to the Tayrona Sector. Later, you will check in at the hotel. Before sunset, you will meet to discuss the upcoming holiday and get to know your guides and fellow travelers. Depending on your arrival time, you will enjoy your first SUP session in the afternoon.
In the morning, you will meet with your paddle boards and get to know paddling techniques. You will get transferred to the river, depending on your surf level. Framed by lush and virgin forests, its protected terrains have long been recognized as some of the world’s most beautiful and exotic landscapes.
Formed by the glaciers and snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada, its rivers, which ultimately drain into the Caribbean Sea, nurture lush environments inhabited by a variety of birds, monkeys, and herds of Indian settlements.
The park’s diverse climates offer a unique backdrop to a wide range of attractions from white sand beaches bounded by huge rocks inside the sea, mangroves, and coral reefs in the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea to dry forests to the highest coastal mountains the world.
This natural paradise, with an area of 15,000 hectares, is considered one of the most important ecological reserves in South America. There are many amazing spots full of nature to go surfingThere is good surfing all year around but do not expect to come here and score big powerful waves.
It is more an easy-going surfing for intermediates and beginners. Most swells are three to five feet range, but it can get double than this during the hurricane season between August and November.
