Nefeli Wind Club invites you to join a 7-day windsurfing surf camp in Vassiliki Beach, Greece. Vassiliki is known worldwide for its wind effect. The conditions make it perfect for you to take windsurfing lessons and try the techniques. Nefeli Wind Club is a place where beginners are welcome, where intermediates are catered for, and where experts are in heaven. So, come to Nefeli Wind Club and enjoy what nature offers there!
Nefeli Wind Club is situated at Lefkada on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Vassiliki Island. This family hotel, with a very friendly environment and helpful staff, is a modern hotel and very well-equipped for families and individuals too. All the rooms are really nice and they offer studios or apartments on the ground floor with 3 bedrooms or on the first floor with 2 bedrooms.
Nefeli Wind Club also has a pool with a special shallow area for babies and young children and a peaceful garden located at the center of the hotel. Around the hotel, there are mountains which give you a wonderful set where you can enjoy the view of Vassiliki bay.
The wind in the morning is ideal for beginners. The breeze is very light and blows on-shore with flat calm water. So, you can practice sailing back and forth across the wind, upwind, as well as downwind, and the conditions make it easy for you to get back to the beach. There is plenty of time before lunch and before “Eric” starts to blow, to take lessons and practice your light-wind techniques.
Around early lunch time, the wind veers to cross-shore and builds to give some of the best windsurfing conditions you could possibly want. To windward and level with Nefeli, the water remains flat - ideal for blasting and pulling off your advanced flat water maneuvers. Further downwind, the water gets more challenging, providing plenty of opportunity for big air and tricks.
Vassiliki is a small village at the leeward end of the bay. There is a warming charm which originates from this ancient Greek fishing harbor. Fishing boats sit in the blue water, moored up against the main cobbled street where there are tavernas, shops, and wine bars. Walking through the village streets, you will encounter a vibrant mix of shops, bars, and restaurants. There are grocery shops full of fresh local products, fashionable clothing boutiques, and traditional Greek restaurants. The village has all you want for your stay - from general supplies to gift shops to bike and car hire.
Vassiliki is known worldwide for its wind effect. For the conditions in Vassiliki to be perfect cross-shore, the prevailing wind onto the island generally only needs to be light. By the time it flows into the bay, it has built to give a strong warm wind, ideal for blasting. The conditions make it perfect for you to take windsurfing lessons and try some techniques.
There are some great bars in the village. There is always somewhere to quench your thirst! There is a plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and when you have done all your healthy shopping in Vassiliki, you can stop and treat yourself to one of Vassiliki’s world renowned ice creams! Among the bars, there are numerous gift shops where you can buy watersports gear (also in Nefeli Wind Club's hotel) and other conveniences such as a chemist, tourism office, post office, bank, and medical center.
Just outside Vassiliki along the rugged coast to the south is where you will find a well-known picturesque beach - Agiofili - which is accessible from land and water. Car parking is restricted, so the best way to get there is either by bike or by water taxi which runs frequently from Vassiliki. The rest of the island has plenty to offer, from mountain villages in the center of the island to perfectly unspoiled sandy beaches on the west coast.
Porto Katsiki, Egremni, and Kathisma are beaches on the western side of the island, with the most amazing azure colors. Agios Nikitas is a beautiful village on the northwest coast - the only village on the west coast at sea level. The north side of the island has Agios Ioannis beach and running down the east side. There are Nydri, Ligia, Nikiana, and close to Vassiliki is Syvota - a stunning natural fishing harbor lined with yachts and fishing boats.
