Leave your board at home and make use of what this Sunova SUP surf camp has provided for you to surf some of Fiji’s best waves! There will be a lot of waves that will challenge you during this trip. This area of Fiji has some of the best hidden and uncrowded waves the island nation has on offer. This great value trip with quality boards, daily boat trips, surf guides, coach, twin share accommodation, and meals is the most economical decent surf trip you could hope for.
You will be staying at standard garden hut which is part of Beachouse Fiji resort. The room will be a shared twin or double room. This hut is facilitated with ensuite private garden bathroom, a queen-sized bed and a single-sized bed, ceiling fans, insect screen, safety deposit box, and wheelchair access.
The resort itself is facilitated with beach house bar, swimming pool, free Wi-Fi hotspot for laptop, iPad, and smartphone users, games center (pool table and table tennis table), common room / television lounge (SKY TV), tour/ travel desk, book exchange and library, onsite safety deposit box for valuables, and massage bure.
In addition, this accommodation also provides you with laundry facilities, 24-hour hot showers, 24-hour security, sea kayaks, snorkeling gear, paddle boards, surfboards, surfing / paddleboard lessons, fishing facilities, on-site babysitting, basketball court, beach volleyball court, and car park.
There's no exact day-to-day itinerary. The waves on the day will be planned by the experienced local surf guides based on the wind, tides, swell, and what size waves you want to paddle into. With a great SUP waving off the beach, you also have five boats available for daily surf trips depending on conditions.
There will be group transfers on day one from Nadi International Airport (NAN) at 09:00. Then, you will meet the crew for a late breakfast or lunch. Relax, unwind, unpack, and have a nap if you need to. Feeling energized? Let's go surfing! If you need an afternoon of rest and relaxation, you can pull up a sun lounge by the pool or go finding a nice bit of shade under a coconut tree on the beach. Watch out for falling coconuts!
On this surf camp, you will be riding the best boards on the market supplied by Sunova SUP Surfboards and the boys at the Beachouse Fiji. Daily boat trips with additional local surf guide will have you on the best waves of the day. With a dozen of waves to choose from, there will always be something to surf no matter the conditions.
You need to be at an intermediate level for this trip but you, definitely, do not need to be a wave bro or pro. Partners, children, and even grandparents are welcome in this surf camp. Tom is a passionate waterman, surfer, and paddler who even dabbles in a bit of windsurfing and kite surfing. Tom holds certifications in fitness and surf instruction, as well as a double degree in Physical Education and Health Science. One of Tom’s most noble pursuits is the work he does with the Disabled Surfers Association, helping lift the lives and creating smiles on the faces of those who deserve to enjoy the water and waves as much as anyone else. Tom has been hosting and coaching with Moon Tours since 2017. He’s a very entertaining character and a real professional.
Located on the Coral Coast of Viti Levu, the main island of Fiji and about two hours from Nadi International Airport (NAN), this place is perfect for the whole family with a nice sandy beach, great pool, and plenty of on and off the water activities for everyone. This part of the Coral Coast in the south-east of Nadi is easy to get to and offers a lot. From SUP surfing to SUP downwinders, this area of Fiji has some of the best-uncrowded waves the island nation has on offer.
Frigates, Fiji Pipe, Jay’s, Shifties, Sigatoka beach break, the beach house wave, and much more are a short paddle in front of your resort. It’s winter swell time and even though the trades are kicking in a lot, the waves are offshore in the south-east trades, which means you will always get a wave. This also makes for good wave kiting potential. The waves and location here are recommended by Moon Tours' friend, professional SUP surfer, and four-time World Kite Surfing Champion, Keahi De Aboitiz.
Early birds (a rare breed) can arrive at 7:30 a.m. and stragglers can wander in until 10 a.m. for the buffet-style hot breakfast with fresh seasonal fruits, daily baked homemade wholegrain bread, spreads, freshly-squeezed lemon juice, and brewed tea or coffee.
The meals package includes a large lunch from the Coconut Cafe lunch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The menu offers meals including steak, sandwiches, homemade burgers, toasted sandwiches, traditional Indian curries, fish and chips, and fresh seasonal salads.
Dinner is generally a two course a’ la carte menu. This menu offers two entree options and three main meal options. There will always be a vegetarian, a fish, and a meat option. A few times a week, the dinner will be buffet-style. The buffet will either be a traditional Fijian feast, an Indian curry night, or Italian wood-fired pizzas.
Fresh fruit and vegetables are collected daily from the local Sigatoka Market or the resort's own abundant gardens to imbue each menu selection with the flavors of Fiji.
The Coral Coast is renowned as Fiji’s adventure capital. From the shores of the resort, you can enjoy swimming, waterfall walk, local village tour, snorkeling, diving, kayaking, bird watching, massage, paddle boarding and surfing / learning to surf, or going further afield to explore an array of world-class adventure experiences including Rivers Fiji, the famous Beqa Shark Dive, Sigatoka River, and Zip Line Fiji.
Eddie, from Navola Village, will be happy to take you for a horse ride along the beautiful bay. This activity costs 25 FJD per hour and all proceeds go directly to Navola Village.
The Beachouse Fiji holds a very competitive / fun volleyball competition every afternoon. This is the perfect workout after enjoying the complimentary afternoon tea / coffee and baked goods.
This trek is a very popular. It is a four-hour adventure hike organized by Juta from Navola Village. This experience costs 10 FJD and all proceeds go directly to Navola Village.
Spend some time with Mali to get the creative making of coconut shell bracelets and necklaces! This is a complementary activity.
The Beachouse Fiji specializes in recreational sports fishing (not game fishing) and typically you can troll, pop, and jig the local reef. All fish is prepared as meals and nothing goes to waste. This place is also the home of the ‘South Korolevu Game Fishing Club’ which was founded by a couple of Beachouse Fiji regulars. If you get a good catch, you may find your photo up on the plaque near the bar.
A day trip to both Vatulele Island and Yanuca Island is offered. They are both a 20-kilometer trip, and there is a minimum requirement for five guests. You can enjoy snorkeling, fishing, caves, hiking, and general adventure. Staff will prepare a beach barbecue lunch.
SPAD Divers offer an array of excellent dive experiences. Full courses are offered for the uninitiated. Shark dives are also available for the brave.
Single and double ocean kayaks are available for complimentary use within the blue lagoon. If you prefer to venture further abroad, you are offered an amazing kayaking safari downstream the Navua River.
Snorkelling trips are operated by the resident comedian, Keni. The cost of snorkeling trips ranges from 25 FJD to 65 FJD depending on the chosen destination. If you prefer to explore the abundant reef on your own, snorkeling gear can be hired at the reception for 15 FJD per day.
This surf school is Fiji’s best value for money. It costs 100 FJD for a 1.5-hour lesson taught by the experienced and accredited surfing instructors. The surfboards and equipment are provided, including board hire, booties, leg ropes, sunscreen, beach instruction, and boat transfers to the break. The lessons take place at the Beachouse Fiji reef, which offers both beginner and intermediate waves.
Grab your favorite beverages from the bar and head out on the ‘Beachouse Express’! You turn off the motor and drift to drink and chat without the interference of engine noise or the internet.
Nadi International Airport
Please book your flight to arrive at Nadi International Airport (NAN). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Moon Tours will pick you up from the airport.
If you cannot meet the group transfer, you can catch a bus to reach Beachhouse Fiji. From Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Suva is a 100-kilometer trip that costs 12 FJD. Please make sure to catch a bus going towards Suva. From Suva is an 80-kilometer trip that costs 10 FJD. Please make sure to catch a bus going towards Lautoka.
There are two kinds of local buses: Express and Stage buses. Try to get the Express buses as they do not stop at every village, which will generally save you about 30 minutes traveling time. The first bus leaves Nadi International Airport (NAN) at 7 a.m. daily and the last bus leaves at 6 p.m. daily.
Please note that some taxi drivers at the airport may try to convince you that there are no more buses that day as they are trying to get you to hire a taxi. It is best to stand or sit outside Esquires Cafe (near the international departures lounge) and watch for the bus coming around the airport circuit. The bus that you need to wave and stop is a big bus that has ‘Suva’ written above the front windscreen.
All buses stop at Beachouse Fiji, which is about 40 minutes after the Sigatoka Town stop when coming from Nadi Town. Beachouse Fiji stop is just 200 meters after the bus has climbed up the first steep hill after Sigatoka Town. The bus drops you right at the entrance to Beachouse Fiji.
