First of all, between Sergio and Pastor there was plenty of English speaking to answer all of my questions. I was somewhat nervous about not speaking any Spanish, but they made it easy.

The camp is just gorgeous. There are so many places to chill and relax while watching the ocean waves, surfers, and locals doing their business. The bar is nice, and everyone congregates at night to drink, share stories, and have fun. I made a new group of friends, which was unexpected; a surprise to be sure but a welcome one.

The surfing was great for me. I'm a brand new, rank beginner, so the waves were perfect. Actually we had to try a few locations out to find one where the waves were small enough. If you're a beginner it'll be ok, and I think more experienced surfers have plenty to occupy them as well.

    Really, no problems.

Mirama or Puerto Sandino is unspoiled and not overdeveloped region, unlike the more famous southern surf region of Nicaragua (Rancho Santana,Popoyo, etc.). There are plenty of accessible quality surf breaks located within a short walk or quick boat ride. The Miramar Surfcamp staff is quite knowledgeable and is going to make the effort to put you in the best surf. Miramar Surfcamp is ideal for beginners. There is also an option of package that includes an instructor.

Miramar Surfcamp is a beautiful surf camp completed with all the hammocks you could ever want! Perfect blend of intense activity, surfing, and absolute relaxation. The meals and drinks are very good and I believe all of them are organic. I signed up for the beginner's package, which had a lesson and surfboard rental each day, all three meals, unlimited water and coffee, and airport transfers for 100 USD per night. It is a really great deal! My friend and I stayed in a beach front room that was very nice. Landscaping, upstairs decks, and furniture make you feel like you really are secluded from the world in a beautiful paradise. A couple of different surfing locations, including both side of the camp. There is a boat that runs surfers out to other beaches that costs 10 USD per roundtrip. The people are all super nice. Everyone loves what they do and where they work and it shows! Tip: try to set up any other outings in the first day if you can. It can be hard to get it to work out since the camp is basically in the middle of nowhere. Free Wi-Fi is also available.

This is my second time at Miramar Surfcamp, and I'll go back there as soon as possible. It's a nice place to stay in peace, with good rooms, good food, and many nice places to take a rest between surf sections. And the surf spot is so close and easy to go.
