Surf lessons

You will enjoy surf sessions which will include all types of surf equipment. You will achieve a solid, basic surfing foundation with the surf lesson program. Learning proper techniques from experts together with correct safety instruction builds the essential foundation you need to give you the confidence to continue surfing on your own after you leave this Bali surf camp.

Each surf lesson begins with a short gathering on the beach to discuss the day’s surf condition before you head into the water. Each lesson ends with a photo analysis and feedback session to help improve your skills and get you ready for the next lesson.

Yoga classes

Yoga and meditation is a perfect complement to your surf retreat program as it teaches you balance, flexibility gives you strength, and brings clarity to your mind to help you focus, all of which are crucial components of surfing. Mind Body Soul-Surf Bali yoga and meditation classes have been tailored to the retreat program.

Practicing yoga will restore sore and tired muscles and bring balance to your body after a day surfing or for the early morning classes they will prepare your body for the day’s activities. Ending each yoga session with a short meditation session so that your mind will be quieted, release tension, and you will find a deep state of relaxation.

The word yoga means union in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. You can think of the union occurring between the mind, body, and spirit through exercise, breathing, and meditation. Practicing regularly improves your overall wellness, mindfulness, and connection with self.

There will be four group yoga classes, all equipment would be provided. Your yoga and meditation classes will be held in nearby yoga studios and are suitable for beginners through to advanced practitioners.

Day 1

You will undergo an introductory course which will cover all the necessary theory about the basics of surfing, safety essentials, surf awareness, board characteristics, paddling, and standing up. Mind Body Soul-Surf Bali will take you into the water to practice these new skills and catch your first small waves.

Days 2 to 8

Mind Body Soul-Surf Bali will take you a step forward and help you become more confident on the board and develop techniques for board control and turning while maintaining a pace that is comfortable to you. In this course, you will learn about how to read the surf such as observing the sets, timing the paddle out, and techniques on how to get through the surf and into the line-up (subject to surf conditions). In this final course, the goal is to paddle through the surf into the line-up (subject to surf conditions), select the right wave, time your take off, and confidently ride some amazing waves.

Mind Body Soul-Surf Bali have teamed up with some of the best professional Balinese surf instructors, all have years of professional teaching experience in Bali. The founder of Mind-Body Soul-Surf Bali, Gede Aryadi “Deduk” is in charge of the surf program and head surf coach, together with Desu De Bali Surf and Bali Surf School, they lead the surf team to guarantee surf success. Everyone is certified for first aid in Bali from Balawista Bandung and are accredited to international standards.

Gede Aryadi
Gede is a passionate surfer, professional surf coach, artist, surfboard shaper, and healer from Seminyak, Bali. He is a man with a heart of gold that radiates an aura of peace and happiness. His smile lights up the room and is infectious as it is genuine. At a young age, he already knew he was destined for a life of surfing and helping people, he just didn’t quite know how it all would come together. Gede Aryadi is in charge of the surf program and head surf coach. He has years of professional teaching experience in Bali and is certified for first aid.
Desu
Desu will be your surf instructor for this camp.

Location

The MBS Surf House is located in Berawa, Canggu, a small, charming, yet trending beach town that has a friendly and relaxed vibe, making it the perfect surf and yoga holiday destination. The villa is located on a quiet street close to rice paddies, only a 20-minute stroll from the beach, and a 5-minute walk to amazing cafés, artsy restaurants, and hip boutique shopping.

The charming villa consists of four beautifully appointed bedrooms each with air-conditioning, hot water, and private bathrooms. The pool is set amidst a small garden with sun chairs, hammock, and bean bags to relax in, read a good book, and catch some rays. The shared common spaces consist of open plan living room, kitchen, dining area, and a small yoga space.

Daily housekeeping, a villa manager, and the hosts will meet and greet you upon arrival to discuss your personal itinerary. The villa is exclusive with a maximum of six to eight people at one time. The villa is one hour drive from the International airport in Denpasar. The transfers will be arranged at your convenience.

Canggu

Canggu is a quiet, yet vibrant coastal village situated on the southwest coast of Bali, located just 15 minutes north of lively Seminyak. Their food philosophy is seasonal, organic, unprocessed, and local.

All breakfast meals include fresh fruit juice, lemon water, coffee, tea, gluten-free bread, butter, jam, honey, and fruit plate in addition to daily changing mains: fruit smoothie bowl with homemade granola, vegetable, egg, potato stack with chia pudding side, a la carte eggs or mashed avocado on fresh toasted bread, roasted herbed tomatoes, black rice pudding with coconut milk and fruit, banana, honey Balinese crepe, homemade granola, coconut yogurt, mixed fruit salad with a side of scrambled eggs.

You will be provided with fresh, healthy and delicious whole food, and gourmet cuisine for your meals. All the fruits and vegetables are locally grown, always choosing organic produce when available. They use only the freshest local fish, seafood, and free range meats. The dishes have been carefully crafted to complement your surf and yoga program keeping energy levels up with a focus on Balinese and Indonesian cuisine.

All meals are prepared in the villa by the Balinese staff and no meal is the same. Special dietary restrictions can be catered for, please inform Mind Body Soul-Surf Bali of your wishes upon booking.
