3 days to discover Cabarete, its best spots, downwinders, and lifestyle. Kite in a wide variety of conditions, and discover the Caribbean lifestyle with unlimited kitesurfing with a coach. If you want to push your kite skills to the next level, enjoy some beautiful downwinders, or simply discover what this world class kite spot has to offer, this camp is for you.
Villa Taina is located in front of the beach in the center of Cabarete, right next to the main kitespot. The hotel offers a top notch experience, with premium rooms, high internet speed (starlink), a swimming pool, and a beach restaurant for your included breakfasts and a bar.
The basic prices are for shared rooms and beds (only for groups of 3 or 4). If you do not wish to share a bed and a room, you can book multiple rooms instead, and they will adjust the price accordingly.
In order to maximize your progress, each coach will be in team with maximum two kiters. A coach will be equipped with a camera to speed up your progress. You will go to the best kitespots around Cabarete: From flat water in a river to beautiful waves on the reef, perhaps see some turtles and go on memorable downwinders.
The first day will take place in the main bay of Cabarete. The afternoon will start by making sure you are ready for the downwinders, or help you get there with some beach maneuvers and self rescue. Once that is out of the way, let's go on the water all afternoon to work on your next tricks or skills. The day will end with a drink on the beach to check the videos of your session and help you improve.
For the second afternoon, you will take the car and discover the remote spot of Las Canas, from which you will do a first small downwind to the Yassica river, the only true flatwater spot around Cabarete. You will stay there for a coaching session in the river, then take a break to check the videos of your flat water session. You will then finish the afternoon by going downwind again until you reach the hotel.
On the third day, start in the main bay, but this time going straight downwind, following the reef break until you reach kite beach. There you can enjoy the nice kickers and flatter water, or if it is too crowded go slightly more downwind for a coaching session. after that, you will continue going downwind to the famous surf spot of "El Encuentro" to finish the session and enjoy a drink in a beautiful location, so we can do a final debrief on the day's video and your general progress.
The program is flexible, and can be adapted to your preferences (more wave-riding, or focusing on flat water for example).
You should be able to ride upwind and be independent even in choppy waters or waves to go on a downwinder. If this is not the case, you are of course still welcome, but the priority will be to make you independant before potentially going on a downwinder.

The hotel is ideally located. You will be right next to everything Cabarete has to offer. The main kitesurfing spot is right in front, and all the hotels, shops, and restaurants can be accessed by the beach or the main street.
Cabarete is famous for its wind, but also for its chill atmosphere and nightlife, with tens of bars and restaurants to chose from on the beach. This is why they chose a top quality hotel right in the center of Cabarete, so you can walk to any of these restaurants in minutes.
They will always bring some snacks and water during your kite sessions, or sometimes take a break in a nice beach or a restaurant to check the videos of your progress. You will have access to the hotel restaurant's buffet breakfast every morning, serving fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, sausages, etc.
The lunch and dinner are not included, so you could have them in this same restaurant, or walk along the beach to your right and find all the restaurants lined up on the beach, with a large selection of styles and prices.
There are so many restaurants it is hard to mention everyone, but the best restaurant around is probably Papi's. If you want something more chill, the Mojito bar is always a good choice, with affordable prices, a diverse menu and 2x1 happy hours from 5 to 7. Front loop, right next to the hotel, also has a very nice atmosphere and is a great place to stop for a drink or lunch. Finally, if you want to party at night, you can go to Ojo's or voy voy.
A spa is available in the hotel, however the spa treatment is not included in the price.
Tommy's horseback ride through the Dominican countryside, available from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at 70 USD per person.
They strongly recommend doing it if you can! A beautiful experience through the rural Dominican hills seeing a slice of traditional life. Rural homes, haciendas, and a memorable walk along the river. Their guides will pace the experience to your needs. Be prepared to get wet so wear sturdy shoes and trousers if you can.
Get away from the comfort of hotel familiarity and into the place you have opted to explore!
This small cruise along the Yassica river will let you discover a completely different scenery. Enjoy the green fields by the river, with quiet nature around. You will go upstream to a beautiful location to have a coffee and enjoy the view. Then back to the kitespot of "la boca."
This is available from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm for 45 USD. Enjoy a wonderful Dominican experience during a 2-hour hike in the Cabarete National Park and swim in its beautiful natural caves. Includes coffee, fruits, and a guided tour to discover the Dominican lifestyle.
This covers 3 hours for 50 USD rental or 80 USD lesson, including taxi). It would be a shame to come to Cabarete without visiting “El Encuentro”, a famous surf spot just minutes away from Cabarete. You can rent boards from local schools there for 10 USD/hour, or take lessons for 20 USD/hour.

A private transport from the airport can be prepared for an additional cost. The prices indicated are for a group of up to 4 persons. Also please let Maxime Roche know in advance how much luggage you will have so they can be sure to have the right size of car to come get you.
