The Dhinasha is a 100-foot safari yacht operated by Maldivian pirates and specialized in surfing trips in the Maldives. The boat has seven air-conditioned rooms with attached toilets, a spacious common living space, and a sundeck and can accommodate up to 14 guests.

The rooms are cleaned daily by our crew and our meals are prepared fresh based on a healthy vegetarian and pescatarian diet. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included. There are also many great restaurants in the local islands which you can enjoy between surf sessions.

Considered one of the best liveaboard yachts in the Maldives, Dhinasha is perfect for groups (family or friends) looking for a private vacation in the Maldives, or single travelers looking to enjoy some of the most diversified surf in the world and exquisite meals prepared by our chef. Our crew has over 15 years of experience and is there to help you make your stay a memorable one.

Day 1: Arrival

You will be met at the airport by Maldives Pirate’s staff. Please walk to Burger King to meet with staff. After exiting the terminal, make a left then a right and you will see Burger King at the end of the walkway next to the water.

When everyone has arrived, you will be transported by Dhoni (local Maldivian transfer vessel) to the charter boat which is located in the Hulhule harbor about 20 minutes from the airport. If the group has different transfer timings, airport pickup may differ depending on the number of passengers. If you are a small group, we may arrange your transfer with a speedboat at the guest’s expense (approximately 40 USD).

On the arrival day, guests will be taken to surf or free-dive at the nearest surf break. The night before check out, you will be cruising back to male' as the boat has to anchor in the harbor before sunset.

Below please find options in case you arrive in the Maldives early and have a few hours to spare.

Stay at the airport terminal (no wifi and no internet facilities available)

  • burger king, Thai Express, and Coffee Club (all with air conditioning)
  • ATM providing local currency only
  • Pharmacy
  • Information desk
  • Two phone company offices for local sim card purchases

  • One surf break: towns (local surfers not always welcoming to visitors)

Day 2 to 6

This is your opportunity to ask staff questions and express your interests and what you want to do for the trip. Staff will inform you how the waves have been and what is expected over the course of your stay. We will determine where the best surf will be to start off with but most of the time you head to the North Male Atolls to begin the charter. In this area, you can expect to surf waves such as tombstones, jailbreaks, sultans, honkey’s, cokes, ninjas, and chickens.

Midway through your charter, you have the opportunity to head south or stay on the North Male Atolls if the waves are good. The waves you can expect to surf in the south male' atoll are the following world-class waves: foxys, riptides, natives, kates, tucky joe’s & quarters. During the week, you will be entitled to enjoy at least one sandbank.

Day 7: Departure

On the last day, you might be able to surf for the day, unless you booked a flight that leaves Male earlier. The boats in the Maldives are not allowed to sail at night so they need to be back in port by about 6 pm before it gets too dark.

Included excursions

  • Sandbar
  • Local islands
  • Free Diving / Snorkeling Spots

The North Male's Atolls are around 4 degrees north, so the winds are flowing toward the equator and the Maldives are in the way: that means offshore winds all day long - kind of like Waikiki. Wave challenge and quality fit any skill level, from beginners to advanced. The typical Maldivian wave has reef break speed and power but breaks like a point = satisfying and fun hot dog surf, with workable corners, fun pockets, and long rides.

Not too soft. Not too hard. Just right. Express yourself.

The cuisine of the Maldives is a rich assemblage of traditional flavors with strong influences from its neighboring countries, such as India and Sri Lanka. In the past, Maldivians depended on essential ingredients such as fish, coconuts, breadfruit, millet, and tubers, and over time, with the influence of foreigners from ancient trade and travel, Maldivian cuisine developed a distinctive blend with its own unique flavors, symbolizing a unique culinary identity.
