At Maceda surfcamp, we believe in sustainability and environmental responsibility, which is why we have made every effort to construct our rooms using materials of recuperation, including reclaimed wood, recycled metal, and salvaged bricks, even board and wetsuits for the isolation.
These materials not only reduce the need for new resources but also give our rooms a unique and rustic look that blends seamlessly with the natural beauty of our surroundings.
You can choose between a premium shared bedroom (4 beds), single suites, or romantic double rooms, with wooden elements providing harmony and coziness.
Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property and if you drive a car they also have free private parking available.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has at your disposal all the facilities, so you may find everything you need to prepare your meals. You can also find several local restaurants nearby, typical Portuguese dishes.
Your future home has a special connection with the ocean, nature and real Portuguese lifestyle. Porto historical center is 30 minutes away by taxi, or 40 minutes by train. The train station it's just 5 minutes walk from the surfcamp, so you will be easily connected with Porto airport, and enjoy the urban lifestyle if you wish.
In addition to the kitchen and common room, there are a few lovely outdoor places to dine and hang out. They have a small outdoor rustic breakfast table under a giant fig tree.
The garden has a barbeque, outdoor shower, hammocks, slackline, and lots of space for ball games or even to enjoy the quiet while reading a book!
Reception Desk
The reception is open from 15:00 to 20:00 for seamless check-ins. If your arrival is scheduled before 15h or after 20h, kindly notify us in advance. This ensures we make necessary arrangements to welcome you outside regular hours and make your arrival as smooth as possible.
Services at the camp
At the camp, Maceda Surf Camp proposes some extra activities such as yoga / meditation classes, surf lessons, Thai massages, special events and excursions. Depending on the package you have chosen, some are already included for you.
At the camp, complimentary bikes and surf skateboards are available, along with laundry services for your convenience.
Program
These vacations will be focused on you... on your well being, on practicing your surf skills and improving your performance on the water... but also to connet with others and discover the Portuguese way of life.
Every day, the surf teacher will pick you up to go and find the best surf spot to enjoy this experience. The surf lesson consists of a great warmup and an explanation about all surf techniques: paddling, wave positioning, catching waves, standing on the board, and riding waves properly. You can expect a clear instruction of every step you will need to take in order to get the most of it. Before getting into the water, you will also be provided with instructions about safety procedures and surf etiquette.
During your experience, you will probably be able to stand on the board or feel some improvement, but above all, you will enjoy an amazing great energy provided from the ocean.
Afterwards, you may want to have some rest or go to the family Supermarket in the neighborhood, buy some local vegetables and try to chat with the dean of the family, discover the surroundings by bike, or participate in one of our social activities.
The surf lessons will be during the low time. Therefore the course hours are able to change every day.
Your final program of the week will be given to you on your arrival.

The arrival & departure time can affect the surf lesson time, therefore customer should coordinate with Maceda Surf Camp about this before arrival.
Security on surf classes always depends on sea and weather conditions.
For this reason, the surf coach team is free to change any schedule.
Surf Package information
For esteemed guests with a surf package, please be advised that surf lesson schedules are intricately tied to the tide cycles. To optimize your surfing experience, these schedules vary daily based on low tides, ensuring the best possible conditions.
In light of this, Maceda Surf Camp kindly requests guests with surf packages, especially those on the 3-night package, to share their arrival times with them. Your proactive communication will greatly assist us in organizing surf lessons and coordinating with your surf instructors. They appreciate your cooperation in creating an unforgettable surf adventure!

Location
Maceda has become a popular surf destination for North Portuguese surfers, but is still relatively uncrowded by tourists.
Maceda Surf Camp is located in a small village, in the middle of a protected coastal Pine Forest Reserve. It is the only accommodation with such good access to surf and nature. The forest road has a bike path that's great for cycling or skating and offers access to remote beaches.

Daily breakfasts are included in the cost of the surf camp. The house has a kitchen fully equipped where it is possible for visitors to prepare the meals and a fridge to store food.

When you arrive at the station, call Maceda Surf Camp to pick you up or you can walk there. The Porto Surf Camp is only five minutes away. Start walking in the opposite direction of the supermarket and turn left from the first intersection that says Praia de Maceda, turn on the next left, and the surf house is on the right side.
