LUHU SURF CO is a surf camp near the city of Porto located on the coast, in an authentic old fisherman’s village called Apúlia. The surf camp is managed by two local friends, Luis and Hugo, who are available to you 24 hours a day.

The surf camp is located a few steps from the ocean is an amazing place, between the sand dunes and pinewoods, giving you the perfect place to relax, surf uncrowded waves, and enjoy some of the best cuisines in Portugal.

When visiting our surf camp in the North of Portugal, you will have the chance to learn and improve your surfing skills with the most dedicated and professional surf instructors. Program

Luhu Surf Camp has a program of seven nights with five surf lessons followed by a full day of free surf. This will improve your skills and give you the confidence that will allow you to surf all over the world. Luhu Surf Camp knows all of the waves in the area and they understand how they work, so you couldn’t find yourself in better hands. The team is relaxed, fun, and passionate about what they do. Luhu Surf Camp's main goal is to ensure you spend the most time in the water and improve your surfing skills.

Location

Luhu Surf Camp is located right in front of the beach in the south of Apúlia Village and is only 30 minutes' drive from Porto Airport (OPO) and 40 minutes from the center of Porto. The camp is on the North Coast Natural Park that stretches over 16 kilometers of beautiful coasts with plenty of surf spots with exceptional waves. It is one of the 13 natural parks of Portugal and it encompasses the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the municipality of Esposende, Portugal, which is only half an hour by car, north of the city of Porto.

The park, with a 16 kilometers coastline, was created to preserve the dunes and the wildlife between the mouth of the river Neiva and the village of Apúlia. This piece of coastline is formed by extensive sandy beaches, dunes, and pinewoods. With many surf spots, most of them are beach breaks and some point breaks as well as reef-breaks.

Food

You will be served daily breakfast and a welcome barbecue dinner during the surf camp. Lunch and dinner are not included, but you may self-cater in a fully equipped kitchen that you can use. However, Luhu Surf Camp can provide you a packed lunch at an additional cost of 3 EUR and dinners at an additional cost of 10 EUR. Apúlia area is known for great food. Most of the restaurants here continue to offer the best of the traditional Portuguese cuisine with several customary dishes of the region made of fresh fish, meat, and delicious pastries with a very friendly price.

Luhu Surf Camp can pick you up at Porto Airport (OPO) with an additional cost of 40 EUR per person (including return trip).

Arrival by bus

You can take a metro from Porto Airport (OPO) or from the city of Porto in the direction of Póvoa de Varzim, then take the bus to the city of Viana do Castelo. Please get off the bus in the village of Fão in front of the hospital and Luhu Surf Camp will pick up you there. You can tell the driver where you want to get off during the journey.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
