"Fabulous empty breaks for all levels. Laid back camp. Go!"
The facilities and overall vibe of the surf retreat were outstanding. Its only 3 years old and looks it. The surf is amazing. The breaks are still uncrowded and worth the effort to travel a bit farther afield. In a few years I am sure it will be more developed because the surf is that good. Mostly we had the break to ourselves. There was never a line up as there was plenty of surf for everyone. The break right in front of the camp was amazing for advanced surfers (its rocky). Romain and Nick had an epic sunset session while I watched while doing yoga.
I got a bit unlucky with the weather in that the swell size took some of the better surfing outside of my comfort zone, but Nick did his best to get me out there and make it productive. The week before and the week after looked perfect for me at Napahua and Aposentillo. They were stellar for those just more advanced than I was. Those guys were having a killer time.
The whole vibe is very laid back.I was traveling solo but had a great time with those in camp (totally new to surfing and they loved it). Between surf sessions we hung at the pool, did yoga (which was great), played petonque (bocce), soaked on the tide pool. There were boxing classes, massages and different day trip options.
The food was good ranging from well done basics for breakfast and dinner with fresh juices to dinners featuring fish caught that day by the fisherman next door to a full on spiny lobster dinner the night before I left. 100% recommended.

"Would go again in a heartbeat"
Beautiful location, lovely people, Los Clavos is a real gem. Very easy transfer from the airport all pre-arranged and lots of communication from Claire and Romain in the run-up so everything ran smoothly. Surf in the morning and chill and yoga in the afternoon. Very highly recommended.
