The Lemon Tree Beach House is really a home away from home. The house is very clean, cosy and has a great atmosphere. You can relax in the garden or one of the many couches, cook the best meals in the kitchen, ... . It is only a 2 min walk from the beach and the surf schools. And there are many restaurants, a bakery, local market and supermarket nearby. The owners, Cristina and Nuno, are amazing. They really care for their guests! I had the perfect holiday and will be back for sure!

This place is amazing! It has its spirit, very friendly owners - Christina and Nuno, very comfortable rooms and facilities, near to the beach and at the same time - very quiet when you need a rest. The hostel is like a home, so you feel familiar since the moment you enter the door.

I highly recommend that place for everyone - you will not regret any minute!

I stayed at the Lemon Tree Beach Hostel for 12 nights with my girlfriend in a double room. The room was big with a nice balcony and a view at the beautiful garden. Its bed was good and the room was perfectly clean. Bathroom was good with a hot or cold shower, it's your choice, and it's perfectly clean as well. The kitchen was also good and well-equipped with everything you need to prepare a nice dinner. To top it, all off the hostel is run by the 2 most warm and welcoming people we have ever met. Every day, Nuno and Christina showed the greatest interest in the day to day life of their guests and they will do everything within their power to make your stay a memorable one! We will definitely come back!

This was the first time that my wife and I had been to Portugal and we were instantly blown away by how friendly everyone was. The owners of the Lemon Tree Beach Hostel (Nuno and Christina) were there to meet us, after we had been picked up from the airport by Fernando from Ripar surf school. They then showed us around our 'home away from home' and it was instantly obvious how much love and thought had gone into creating this amazing place. We had booked into a one week surfing and yoga experience (our first for both) and met everyone who was going to be involved with our holiday at a delicious evening meal laid on in the Lemon Tree. The moment we sat down, we felt that we'd known these brilliant people for ages - we ate, laughed, drank and talked for hours about everything. If you are looking for the ultimate in relaxation, we cannot recommend these guys highly enough. Their warmth, friendliness, openness and love of life are infectious and have created one of the best holiday experiences that we have ever had. We're already looking to go back again next year as it really was that good!

We stayed here for 3 nights, as part of a road trip around Portugal, and couldn't have been happier. We rented their studio flat which slept up to six people, and had bunk beds around the edge of the room. Although we didn't have a double bed, it was kind of fun to sleep in a bunk bed as an adult, and our daughter loved it being up high. There was a sofa, armchair, coffee table and dining table. The small kitchen area had a hob, microwave and kettle as well as a fridge so we could cook meals. There was a shaded sofa outside and a wonderful garden full of fruit trees and shady seating. All this added up to a wonderful chilled out atmosphere, and as it was set back from the road, a nice safe environment for our daughter to play in. Its location was perfect, being only a hundred meters or so from the main road, and about ten minutes walk to Ariea Brancas fantastic beach. Areia Branca itself is a small and fairly quiet place with lots of surf schools, but overall a good mix of people down on the beach which never seemed crowded. Its also only a 15 minute drive to Peniche beach or the medieval town of Obidos. We loved staying here, and are already planning to return next year.
