Anyone can reach this dream sport, you just need to be confident in the water. At the end of the program, you will receive a certification card and validation of your level. You will be accommodated in a room for two persons at Portillo Kite Hut.
This surf camp includes 12-hour kitesurf course with equipment. A 12-hour class is the average duration to become a good kitesurfer. With a 12-hour class, you should be able to kitesurf on your own because you will learn the basics, the theory, and some practice.
In the first lesson, there will be a kitesurf introduction with an instructor. You will learn how to handle the sail and body drag on a small sail.
It includes handling of the sail into the water and power control (first together, then alone).
You will body drag along with a large sail then kitesurf with the board. It is the beginning with the board, water start, and first round trip.
The improvement session includes first jump and first freestyle.
Regarding the material, Las Terrenas KiteSurf works with the Starkite brand for begginers and classes. Las Terrenas KiteSurf also has a partnership with the French company F-ONE specializing in the production and distribution of kitesurfing, stand up paddling, and foil equipment. Las Terrenas KiteSurf renews its equipment each year to provide quality courses. The equipment used is appropriate to the level of the students and allows a safe progression. They use Starkites sails 2016 and 2017 models.
IKO Kitesurf graduated since 2007, Las Terrenas KiteSurf trained their own team of young Dominicans. Las Terrenas KiteSurf is affiliated IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) and deliver the courses according to their courses.

The school is located in the Samana Peninsula, in the northeast of the Dominican Republic. The location of the beaches and the weather conditions allow you to practice kitesurfing from December to September with regular and well-oriented winds, thanks to the permanent trade winds. These spots are perfect to begin or improve your level. Courses are given on the Portillo beach, located at 3 kilometers from the club. Moreover, the spot is a semiclosed lagoon which is ideal to start or improve your level.
