The surf and yoga camp is held in Famara, on the north shore of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Lanzarote is located 150 kilometers east of the African coast, a two-to-four-hour flight from the main European cities.
Lanzarote, or Lanza as locals call it, is the most easterly island of the Canary archipelago, which belongs to Spain. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 100 kilometers west of the African coast and approximately 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Spain. Lanzarote is the most volcanic of the Canary Islands. Here you will discover a truly unique landscape made of deserts, volcanoes, blue skies, crystal-clear waters and unspoiled coastlines.
Its magnetic, almost lunar landscape boasting over 200 kilometers of coastline and countless beaches, together with the charm of its architecture. Exclusively low-rise houses, all painted white with either blue or green woodwork, make it truly different from any other island of the archipelago.
Famara beach is a remote three-kilometer-long stretch of sand and dunes. It borders with Caleta de Famara on one side, and with the Risco mountain on the other, making for a beautiful and unique landscape. It is a perfect playground for joggers, bathers, surfers, windsurfers, and kitesurfers, and provides enough space for all to enjoy the beach peacefully, all year-round. The beach’s numerous peaks can accommodate surfers of all levels.
Please book your flight to arrive at Lanzarote Airport (ACE). You can get a taxi (approximately 40 EUR one way) from the airport. It is also possible to get from the airport to Famara on public transport, although the bus line frequency is fairly low.
From Monday to Friday, there is line number 22 from the airport to Arrecife’s main bus station, then line number 20 from Arrecife’s main bus station to Caleta de Famara. In the weekends, line number 23 from the airport to Arrecife’s main bus station is available, and then line number 3 from Arrecife’s main bus station to Costa Teguise and number 31 from Costa Teguise to Caleta de Famara. Just so you know, here the bus is called guagua, and pronounced wawa!
