Join the Lanzasurf family for a week of surf and yoga in a spectacular natural environment by the beach in the natural reserve of the Lanzarote Archipelago. The nights will be spent at their Surf House in Famara directly facing the beach. On this Surf and Yoga Retreat, you will participate in a 5-day surf and yoga course. The course includes 4 hours of surf plus 1 yoga session per day. Surf, do yoga, relax, and reconnect with Nature!
You will stay in Lanzasurf´s Surf House in Famara, facing the beach, with beautiful sea and mountain views, and a minute walk from Famara village. The Surf Houses are fully-equipped and self-catered. It is a fantastic place to socialize with other people on the surf and yoga camp and to make the most of what Famara has to offer.
The surf instructors will be in the water with you pointing the best waves, helping you catch them, and giving feedback to help you improve your surfing technique. After your surf lesson, Kailua will bring you back to your hotel, apartment, or surf camp.
The surf course is taught at Playa de Famara, a 6 kilometer long white sandy beach which receives quality waves year-round. There will be 5 days of courses. The course takes place from 10.30 to 15.00. The description below shows how a day with Lanzasurf will look like:
At 9.50 you will be asked to be at Lanzasurf School. We want to make the most of our surfing lessons so at 10.30 we want to start in the water!
We guarantee that 4 hours 30 min per day of theoretical and practical teaching with qualified instructors in turquoise waters will take your surfing to the next level.
The surf lessons are mostly practical but you will also have theoretical exercises where you will get to understand better the waves, the environment and the ocean.
After the lessons you might want to enjoy the sunny weather at the beach, visit some touristic place or just have some beers.
During your surfing holiday in Famara you will be living the chilled surfing lifestyle. The village is full of people from everywhere that are looking for a relaxing place and the best waves.
You will get to know the local people and enjoy the nice tapas and the best fish that the island can offer you.
So you can't forget to bring your flip flops and bikini!

Evandro Muñoz de Medeiros
Evandro, Lanzasurf's operation manager and chief surf instructor, started surfing at the age of 6 and has participated in regional, national, and international surf contests since he was 11 in Brazil. Evandro has 15 years of teaching experience and is a qualified surf instructor and surf judge. In 2004, Evandro decided to move to the Canary Islands, Europe´s Hawaii. He loves teaching surfing and before starting his own surf school, he worked for several surf schools.
Gabby is Lanzasurf administrative & marketing manager. Her life has always been closely tied to the sea. She started sailing at the age of 5 in Cádiz- Spain, were she grew up. At the age of 8 her passion was awakened when she discovered windsurfing. She has competed during many years in the Olympic Windsurfing RSX class. She divided her time between training, travelling, surfing & studying arts. She has traveled to several countries & surf many seas. Her passion for action watersports & the surf lifestyle had led her to study the surfing & action sports industry and work in it.
The Irish member of our team is & expert on the forecast. His theoretical lessons are masterclasses. He's been surfing & sailing for 20 years now. He has been very humbled by what mother nature has provided us in the form of waves & wind & an understanding of it. All has allowed him to pass on clients through surfing. He has taught & coached in many outdoor sports. He has worked with many large companies in dealing with planning communication & over all team work amongst teams that are prepping for future projects. He has found in the resent years an amazing love for coaching surfing.
This surfer girls grew up in Pamplona, 100 km away from the coastline. When she turned 18 she moved to San Sebastian, where surfing turned into her passion. While she was studying she surfed as much as she could and even started participating in Surf Contest. She travelled to France, Portugal & Canary Islands where she felt in love. After several years competing she moved to Canary Islands searching for new waves & to enjoy Europe´s best weather. She loves to share her passion & knowledge for surfing with the world and all the students that come to Lanzasurf!
The surf and yoga camp is held in Famara, on the north shore of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Lanzarote is located 150 kilometers east of the African coast, a 2-to-4-hour flight from the main European cities. No visa is required for members of the European Union as it is part of the Spanish territory. The currency is the Euro.
Lanzarote is the most volcanic of the Canary Islands. Here you will discover a truly unique landscape made of deserts, volcanoes, blue skies, crystal-clear waters and unspoilt coast lines. You will feel the magnetic attraction of the island as soon as you step out of the plane.
