Joining a surf camp with Lanzasurf is a great way to learn to surf or improve your level in a more intensive way, while also keeping free time for other activities in the afternoons. The surf center is open every day, all year round! Lanzasurf has developed a teaching system that is adaptable to all student types and levels. If you learn fast, they will speed things up; if you don't want to rush, they will take it slow. Either way, Lanzasurf will always teach with passion and use all their experience to ensure your time with them is productive, fun and unforgettable.
A great place to socialize with other surfers and to make the most of what Famara has to offer! The surf house is like a small hostel, self-catered and right in front of the beach across the dunes. It has direct sea and mountain views. Sunbathe and throw a barbecue in the dunes!
All Lanzasurf classes include a theoretical and a practical part, and will cover the following topics depending on your level:
Evandro, Lanzasurf's operation manager and chief surf instructor, started surfing at the age of six and has participated in regional, national, and international surfing contests since he was eleven in Brazil. Evandro has 15 years of teaching experience and is a qualified surf instructor and surf judge. In 2004, Evandro decided to move to Canary Islands, Europe´s Hawaii. He loves teaching surfing and before starting his own surf school, he worked for several surf schools.
The Irish member of the team is an expert on the forecast. His theoretical lessons are masterclasses. He's been surfing and sailing for 20 years now. He has been very humbled by what mother nature has provided in the form of waves and wind, and the understanding of it. All have allowed him to pass on clients through surfing. He has taught and coached in many outdoor sports. He has worked with many large companies in dealing with planning communication and overall teamwork amongst teams that are prepping for future projects. He has found in the recent years an amazing love for surf coaching.
I was born in Slovenia; a country with no waves!! I started surfing late in my life, in 2006. I started in Famara and Evandro (owner of Lanzasurf) was my instructor. I became addicted to surfing and became a qualified Surf instructor in 2015. I love sharing my surf knowledge to first time surfers. In the past I was competing in swimming and white water kayaking. I love my life in board shorts and flip flops in Famara!
Lanzarote, or Lanza as locals call it, is the most easterly island of the Canary archipelago, which belongs to Spain. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 100 kilometers west of the African coast and approximately 1,000 kilometers south of mainland Spain. Lanzarote is the most volcanic of the Canary Islands. Its magnetic, almost lunar landscape boasting over 200 kilometers of coastline and countless beaches, together with the charm of its architecture exclusively low-rise houses, all painted white with either blue or green woodwork make it truly different from any other island of the archipelago. Aside from being a Mecca for all surf, kite surf, windsurf, stand-up-paddle, diving, snorkeling, fishing and sailing enthusiasts, Lanzarote is a great playground for earth sports such as cycling, mountain biking, trekking, quad, horse riding, golfing or simply enjoying a relaxing time in one of the islands many spa centers.
The package includes lunch at the beach.
