A comfortable lodge with a spacious common room and areas to host easy-going travelers. This is a safe place with a parking lot, family ambiance, no parties, no drugs, and you can all cook and eat healthy. It is a four of six in a two-story building the room is on the second floor, has access to a living room, a kitchen, bathroom, and shower that is shared with other guests and Charlie. Monkeys, toucans, scarlet macaws and agoutis come very often. It is all very calm in here, and the spirit of surf is in the whole house.
All the sessions are conducted with good Tico energy, and with the safety of a qualified lifeguard. La Oficina de Charlie offers a selection of surf lessons, from beginner to advanced.
With seven years experience as a teacher in Manuel Antonio, Charlie will teach you how to catch your waves and learn about the different techniques to approach them.
Starting with a full explanation in the shade of the palm trees, La Oficina de Charlie will explain the different techniques; how to lay on the board, how to paddle and how to stand up, the do’s and the don’ts to keep you safe, and the rules and safety procedures of being in the water. Then you will hit the waves for two or three hours (depending on how much you can handle!), where Charlie will patiently remind and instruct you to make sure you have a successful and enjoyable session. La Oficina de Charlie guarantees that after the session you will have a strong base for your future surf trips.
All equipment included: boards for different levels (from soft boards to fiberglass), video footage on a GoPro and sunscreen. There is no age limit and La Oficina de Charlie accepts absolute beginners, so everyone is welcome!
Note: If surf conditions are not good enough, surfing will be replaced with hiking.
Charlie grew up in Manuel Antonio. He knows everyone and places you would never find unless you were a local. He is an adventure tour guide, a surfing and SUP instructor, a lifeguard, and a proud Airbnb host. This surf camp will take place in Manuel Antonio Quepos, Punta Arenas, Costa Rica. The lodge is located three kilometers from the Manuel Antonio park, beach break, and surf spots.
Conducted in quiet, safe waters in a local bay, far away from the tourist crowds and boats, and with stunning jungle surroundings. You will use soft beginner stand up paddle boards. It starts with a full explanation on the beach before you hit the water. La Oficina de Charlie will cover safety, how to enter the water, how to stand and balance, and how to use the paddle. Lessons are led by a patient, lifeguard trained instructor, and last up to two hours depending on what you can handle! The cost is 65 USD.
With 24 years living in Manuel Antonio, using Charlie's local knowledge, he can show you some unique hiking routes, the best reefs for snorkeling, and the quietest bays for kayaking and SUP. This is the most thrilling way to safely experience Costa Rica off the beaten track.
Three-hour coastal hike between Quepos town and Manuel Antonio exploring the uncrowded local beaches. Learn about trees, plants, wildlife and the Costa Rican approach to nature. Snacks and refreshments are included! The cost is 30 USD.
