Are you ready to improve your surf skills? La Buena Vida Surf School has qualified instructors with more than 20 years of teaching experience. The instructors are true professionals, bilingual, friendly, dedicated, and passionate about teaching others how to surf. The lessons are private with never more than three guests per instructor. La Buena Vida prefers not to do large group lessons in order to pay plenty of attention and allow you to improve quickly. Your satisfaction and safety are the main concern.
La Buena Vida is a family-owned boutique hotel and surf school in the beautiful town of Ayampe, Ecuador. The hotel's sunny lounge room has a pool table, board games, and darts. The hotel also has a small book exchange, paints, brushes, and driftwood if you want to leave some of your art behind. The hotel also uses all-natural soap, shampoo, and lotion products by Amazon Aroma, recycles the hotel’s plastic and glass waste, composts raw food waste from the restaurant and salad bar to make organic fertilizer for the gardens, and organizes periodic beach cleanups to keep the beaches clean and free of waste.
This package is recommended for the advanced beginner or intermediate surfer looking to improve their skills through surf coaching. Video analysis will help you understand what you are doing right or wrong. In the water, intermediate surfers will try out different types of surfboards. You will learn to size down from a longboard to a shortboard or vice versa. You will also learn to duck-dive or turtle-roll and improve how you read waves, wave selection, and your take-off timing as well as various trick tips if the instructor feels you are ready. At the end of the week, La Buena Vida hopes all of your hard work will take you to a new level and your surf stoke will continue.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Keith started surfing at age nine and rapidly gained the interest of local surf sponsors as the years passed. Keith spent most of his time in the water, practicing for competitions as well as many years of competing locally. Finally, landing a few local sponsorships like Volcom, he continued his quest to advance further in the surf industry. After only a few short years of competition, he knew the best thing for himself would be to build his own surf camp. His undeniable love and knowledge about the sport make it impossible for you not to enjoy yourself.
