They do not charge for our boat trips, as it is part of your surf tour package when traveling with AST in Central Nicaragua.

"I will definitely be coming back here. As a full time yoga instructor and masseuse...and avid traveler, I was looking for a unique experience in a remote place. I left with new friends, great memories, new clients, and the desire to get back to Nicaragua as soon as possible. The staff is on-point with any needs, great hospitality, and friendly vibes. Being a nutritionist and vegetarian, I tend to find a lot of menu restrictions while traveling. This was NOT the case at La Barra. The meals were varied and delicious, with food options available at all hours. With a large upper deck to roll out some yoga mats and breathe while watching the waves crash, every session was better than the last. It was also the ultimate place to give/receive a post-surf/activity massage. Cleanliness is key, and at La Barra I always had a mopped floor, fresh sheets, and clean mats to work with. Its truly the perfect place for a retreat and I will ABSOLUTELY bring my clients, friends, and family back in the very near future. Thank you again to the owners and staff!"

"Went surfing at this camp in December 2014. This facility is more like a boutique hotel except that all meals are provided in a group setting. It was a great place to learn to surf for a beginner surfer, based on the time of year. The place was quite empty when we went which allowed us great access to the knowledgeable staff that really took time to teach me how to surf."
"We dad a blast here at La Barra Surf Camp! I stayed with one friend here over Thanksgiving week and it was such a great trip. Delicious food, comfortable stay directly on the beach. This isn't some fancy resort - and remember that Nicaragua is still a struggling country new to this tourism thing. It's nice to see clean beaches and breaks not overrun by travelers, i hope it stays that way. There's nothing better than falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the ocean. The surf was awesome and the guys took us to a few different spots - we drove a few times in the van, took a boat ride to a break one day and then some afternoons just walked about 10 minutes up the beach for a sunset session. The beach is beautiful and waves are gorgeous and empty. It's a tiny village with not much around which makes for a really quiet and relaxing stay. Highly recommend taking a trip to do the volcano boarding if you are there few a days! We also had a fun night out in Leon. They've got everything you need for an epic surf trip. Definitely will be trying to go back."
"There's a laid back, unpretentious vibe to these guys. The waves happened to be pumping when we went, and the boats certainly helped in finding the best spots. The staff were very service oriented and made the guests wishes realities. The food was incredible. Better than some 4 star hotels. I would definitely go back. Thinking about making it an annual thing."
"As a former professional surfer it was great to get away from the Los Angeles scene and get down to Nicaragua and visit adventures surf tours resort LaBarra .greeted by super kind and awesome individuals who are also surf guides to go along trip, with very helpful and good English. The people that ran the camp we're also amazing people the cooks were outstanding and the food was fantastic, breakfast ,lunch and dinner every day with no complaints fresh juice, pool ,beer, music, anything that you could imagine on a surf trip you had at your fingertips. Our accommodations were very simple but very nice, the AC units blast out cold air which also helped for my girlfriend while how long on my surf trip. The view from the hotel was amazing accompanied with a beach walk down to the tide pools around the point of Miramar with a beer in hand and friendly people around the corner also. You can also go on a day trip to Leon and check out the old architecture or hitch a ride and go volcano boarding down a super steep volcano reaching speeds up to 60 miles an hour. great trip all around I would definitely go back and do it again"
"Stayed here with my wife in July. We ended up getting great surf right out front. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We got boat trips to the beach breaks when we wanted and road trips to the city. The food was really good here too. We had Lobster, fish, chicken, and others. I checked out some of the others camps while down there and this one looked the best. I also thought it had the best location because its right in the middle of all the walkable surf spots and has a view of the waves."
