Buddhas Surf Resort

Offers you a genuine Philippines surfing experience. Set in the heart of Siargao Island Surf community, the resort is ideal for tourists and surfers alike. And because they are located between the famous Cloud 9 surf break and the town of General Luna, youll have easy access to everything that you desire in Siargao. Surf spots are easily accessible in the area. The world-famous Cloud 9 is a short 5-minute motorbike ride from the resort.


The most popular option for beginners. You will learn all the basics of safety, kite set up, kite flying, body drag in all directions and start the most exciting part. Getting on the board and ride!

By the end of this course you should be able to do short rides to one or both sides. You will then become an independent kiter and be able to learn on your own or take an advanced course for a fast learning curve.

Stephan Hertig
Kitesurfing veteran Stephan is working for the KTA (Kiteboard tour Asia) as a Competition Manager. He has been teaching kitesurfing and managing kite schools all around the globe since 2003. Originally from Switzerland, always loved to travel. After primary and high school he started an apprenticeship as an electro mechanical engineer, which he graduated 4 years later. Freestyle his passion for the last 12 years, the last year he started to change over to more surf and surf freestyle, it's a new challenge and so much fun.
Kathrin Borgwardt
Four times Asian Kite Race Champion and Freestyle Champion Kathrin Borgwardt is a long time veteran Kite boarder. She has over 12 years of teaching experience under her belt with a kite school in Germany and a resort in the Philippines she has all the knowledge you need to successfully run a kite school and teach from 0 to hero in no time. She is also organizing kids training for the young guns. Since 2003 she has been living in Boracay and shes happy to travel because of the kiting and experience different cultures. Kitesurfing is not only a sport but a lifestyle and every day a new challenge


This kite camping will take place in between the Pesangan Surf Camp and the cemetery. The only spot where teaching in low tide is possible.

Breakfast includes one order per person from the breakfast menu, drinks not included. Located in resort they have a restaurant and bar. In the restaurant they serve a delicious range of food and drinks, and also have a popular Thai themed menu. On request they can also cook traditional Filipino feast, perfect for a birthday or farewell party. They can make a fish banquet, including fresh Mahi Mahi and Tuna with salads and much more. Also some guests request a traditional pig roast to enjoy with the locals and surf instructors they have met during their stay.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Take an international flight to Manila or Cebu. There are plenty of flights now direct from Singapore, Japan, and Hong Kong to Cebu, so you don't have to go through Manila.

Then change over to a flight to Cebu and onward to Siargao. No direct flights yet from Manila to Siargao. There are connecting flights from Manila via Cebu. All surfers and kite surfers coming to Siargao can take the plane.

There are more flights direct to Surigao

From Manila, Air Philippines fly daily to Surigao city. Flights depart at 8:45am from Manila and returning 10:45am from Surigao city. Its highly recommended to have transfer arrange from the airport to Surigao pier in order to catch the ferry to Dapa on Siargao Island. If you get tired of the crowded beaches, buzz and party in Boracay, then we got the best escape for you with direct flights to Cebu via Caticlan or Kalibo.

Daily flights from Kalibo and Caticlan to Cebu, then off to Siargao

For the ones with more luggage there is one more option, called Butuan (Bancasi Airport). This Airport is a 2 hours-drive from Surigao and it has direct flights to Manila and usually very cheap flights.

Arrival by ferry

Get to Cebu or Surigao by plane. If you take from Surigao option, you need to get a boat from Surigao city to Siargao island.

There is also the overnight boat option from Cebu to Surigao city with Cokaliong shipping lines. The ferry departs at 18:00 daily except Sundays.

Once you land in Dapa, the main port of Siargao, the trip to kite surf-Siarago can be made by Public Jeepney, motorbike, tricycle or private van
