You can choose from two accommodation styles. If you are traveling alone or with a group, Kite Progress Tarifa has their amazing kite hostel, with several bedrooms, or the "Strawberry Home", a one-bedroom apartment with a capacity of six people, is equipped with a pool and a private terrace with a barbecue.

Program

You can choose to learn privately for fast improvement, with another person to share and be motivated by each other with less intensity, or in a group with your friends or family to spend an exciting time together learning, more slowly how to kitesurf. In this introductory course, you will receive enough information to decide if it will be a new hobby to have fun and travel the world.

Through a pragmatic, 'tried and tested' approach to instructing, our certified IKO kiteboarding instructors will help you learn proper kiteboarding practices and techniques, outlining what should and should not be done, every step of the way. They will give you useful tips on understanding the wind and choosing the right kiteboarding equipment, as well as a complete list of kiteboarding terminology, learn about safety systems in and out of the sea, practice all the techniques to learn to ride kitesurfing safely and autonomously on as soon as possible everywhere.

Kite Progress Tarifa is a kite school with experience providing kitesurfing lessons and renting kitesurf equipment. The team is very familiar with Tarifa; its beaches and wind come as their second nature. Constantly capitalizing on this knowledge to ensure your lessons are the best they could possibly be, they are always evaluating the equipment in order to provide the best conditions to teach kitesurfing safely, easily, and quickly. This kitesurfing course is suitable for beginners, as well as for those who want to improve their skills and their knowledge in this area. Some of the things you will learn as a beginner include

What to expect

You will learn the best of all disciplines: freeride, freestyle, new school, wave riding, and racing. Through a pragmatic, 'tried and tested' approach to instructing, the IKO and Fav certified instructors tailor each lesson based on the level and individual needs of the pupils. The certified IKO kiteboarding instructors will help you learn proper kiteboarding practices and techniques, outlining what should and should not be done, every step of the way. They will give you useful tips on understanding the wind and choosing the right kiteboarding equipment, as well as a complete list of kiteboarding terminology.

Note

In the event that the 12-hour group kitesurfs is not held due to a lack of participants or wind conditions, the customer is given the opportunity to choose the most suitable option of 4 hours of private kitesurf lessons or almost 7 hours of semi-private sessions. In case kitesurfing isn't feasible due to the weather conditions, customers have the option to opt for wing foil or surf sessions instead.

The Kite lessons will be instructed by multiple instructors who are experts in kite surfing (IKO certified). The lessons will be held by these instructors based on their availability. These instructors will provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.

Location

The camp will take place in Tarifa, Andalusia, Spain. Kite Progress Tarifa is teaching kitesurfing on the beach of Los Lances or Valdevaqueros Beach, right at the beginning of the kitesurfing zone.

Playa de Los Lances (Los Lances Beach) is a long and white sandy beach with an average width of 120 meters, and Valdevaqueros too but with a beautiful sand Dune view.

Both beaches are situated at the north of Tarifa, until Torre de la Peña. It is a very popular kitesurfing spot with many services.

Tarifa is known for its nightlife, culinary scene, cobblestone streets and endless beach.

Distances:

  • Entrance of Old Town and the Island of Las Palomas - 5 minutes walk
  • Tangiers on the Moroccan coast - 35 minutes

Things to do (optional)

From the simple pleasures of walking along the immense beaches, riding on horseback to the dunes, or mountain bike rides in the park, to climbing the Rocky Mountains. Tarifa is also famous for water sports, including kitesurfing, windsurfing, kite foiling, wing foiling, surfing, and paddle surfing. If you love sports and nature, then Tarifa is the place to be. There are also yoga classes offered for kite surfers.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Gibraltar International Airport (North Front Airport) (GIB), Málaga Airport (AGP), Seville Airport (SVQ), or Jerez Airport (La Parra Airport) (XRY) depending on where you are coming. Transfers from and to the airport are by taxi or Bla Bla car, or you can rent a car agency.

Arrival by bus

From Málaga Airport (AGP), Seville Airport (SVQ), or Jerez Airport (La Parra Airport) (XRY), you first have to take a bus to the centers of these cities, and from there, take a second bus to Tarifa. If arriving at Gibraltar International Airport (North Front Airport) (GIB), you first have to cross the border to Spain. From La Linea de Concepción, which is a town right across the border in Spain, take the bus to Tarifa. The bus station is about 10 minutes’ walk away from the crossing point.

Course information

For a more personalized lesson, private package (6 hours) is the faster learning. In a semi-private package (9 hours), medium faster, 3 sharing hours with 1 kite per 2 person, per windy day, Group lesson is the slowest way to learn, in 3 or 4 sharing hours 1 kite per 4 person, medium time of personal practice 1 hour and learn 3 hours listening and watching the rest of the group.

 

Weather information

If there is no wind or not enough, you can substitute your kitesurfing sessions with surfing or wing foiling if there are the properly conditions. In case of no wind or waves during all your journey,you will receive a voucher good to consume within the current year

 
Change Lessons methods

If during your holiday, your individual booking for a semi-private course for 2 people or a group course for 4 people will not be possible due to a lack of other guests, or who cannot due to a different language or level, or who do not want to share the course, you will be able to use the value of the lessons booked and to be paid at check in in private lesson mode.
You will thus receive the best quality of personalized teaching at the same cost and you will live the experience and lifestyle of kitesurfing in Tarifa in the same way, sharing the environment and the school days with all the other people.
