Location

Sardinia, as well as being a beautiful place, rich in natural, cultural, culinary traditions and landscapes, has 1897 km of coastline and is one of the windiest regions in Europe. Because of its location, in the center of the western Mediterranean, Sardinia island is constantly windy, especially by the Scirocco and Maestrale and rich in solitary beaches, away from the bustle of the crowds of swimmers: it can be considered a paradise for kitesurfing.

In Sardinia, you can find many places that have the ideal characteristics for kiteboarding and windsurfing.

The south of Sardinia is probably one of the windiest coast of the Mediterranean and therefore rich in many spots for kite surfing: Poetto of Cagliari, Capoterra (Petrol beach), Quartu Sant’Elena, Chia, Villasimius, Santa Margherita, Funtanamare, Porto Botte, Punta Trettu.

The main beach of Cagliari, Poetto, is perhaps the one that is best known to tourists. It is between the Sella del Diavolo (Devil’s saddle) and Quartu Sant’Elena and, besides being famous for its nightlife, it is also a great place for kitesurfing: there is so much space, since it is long of approximately 10 km, where Mistral, Scirocco and Levante blow almost every day. The beach is sandy and is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. Poetto beach has been also the spot where there have been held several kite world championships.

La Maddalena Spiaggia better known as Petrol beach in Capoterra, fought in the summer months by Scirocco, Ostro and thermic wind. On the hot days of summer it is an ideal spot for kite surfing, even for beginners.

Another beach for kitesurfing, always in the south-west of Sardinia, is certainly the beach of Chia: white beach and crystal clear waters exposed to the Mistral and the south winds.

Also the bay of Porto Botte is another ideal place for kitesurfing, suitable both for beginners and experts. It is a long bay about 2 km where there are 3 sensational kite spots: Il Fortino, Porto Botte, Ia Solinas.

Hydrofoil kiteboard lessons

The hydrofoil has become one of the most sophisticated forms of gliding through the water. The feeling of lifting onto a winged surface and riding in three dimensions unlocks new experiences and sensations that one is unable to achieve on traditional boards. Imagine the feeling of flying over the surface of the water with a direct connection to the conditions below. Experience a drastic reduction in drag and complete silence as your board lifts off the water.

The hydrofoil offers a new feeling to the sport of kitesurfing and opens the sport to a much larger range of conditions. If you can keep a kite in the air, you can go out and ride. The dramatic increase in efficiency from a traditional board to a hydrofoil allows you to explore new areas and sensations. The sport is surprisingly easy to master and allows new challenges for maneuvers and speed.
