Location

Sardinia

Sardinia, as well as being a beautiful place, rich in natural, cultural, culinary traditions, and landscapes, has 1897 kilometers of coastline and is one of the windiest regions in Europe. Because of its location, in the center of the western Mediterranean, Sardinia island is constantly windy, especially by the Scirocco and Maestrale and rich in solitary beaches, away from the bustle of the crowds of swimmers.

It can be considered a paradise for kitesurfing. In Sardinia, you can find many places that have the ideal characteristics for kiteboarding and windsurfing. The south of Sardinia is probably one of the windiest coasts of the Mediterranean and, therefore, rich in many spots for kite surfing.

Punta Trettu

Punta Trettu is considered one of the best Sardinia kitesurfing spots, probably one of the best kite spots in Europe. Located in front of the small Sant’Antioco island and close to the kite spot of Porto Botte, Punta Trettu is a perfect spot for kitesurfing because of the shallow and flat water almost everywhere. Riders can stand up and walk for hundreds of meters, making it perfect for beginners, jumps, and freestyle.

The kite spot of Punta Trettu is considered a lagoon because almost completely surrounded by land. In truth, in Punta Trettu, the seawater is current and the flows are created a sea natural channel that runs along the island of Sant’Antioco, where the boats can navigate. The best winds for kitesurfing in Punta Trettu are the Mistral (blowing from North-West) and the Scirocco (blowing from South-East), even strong winds from the south work well. The winds from the west or southwest could be enough good if they are strong.

Things to do (optional)

Flat-water SUP lessons

Not quite ready for the waves? No worries. They offer flat-water SUP lessons for any skill level. The lesson includes proper ground school instruction and in-water paddle training. With the SUP lessons for beginners, you will learn how to do it right the first time and then continue to build your skills and confidence. The SUP lessons for advanced focus on specific skills and techniques to move to the next level.

Hydrofoil kiteboard lessons

The hydrofoil has become one of the most sophisticated forms of gliding through the water. The feeling of lifting onto a winged surface and riding in three dimensions unlocks new experiences and sensations that one is unable to achieve on traditional boards. Imagine the feeling of flying over the surface of the water with a direct connection to the conditions below. Experience a drastic reduction in drag and complete silence as your board lifts off the water.

The hydrofoil offers a new feeling to the sport of kitesurfing and opens the sport to a much larger range of conditions. If you can keep a kite in the air, you can go out and ride. The dramatic increase in efficiency from a traditional board to a hydrofoil allows you to explore new areas and sensations. The sport is surprisingly easy to master and allows new challenges for maneuvers and speed.

Race kiteboard lessons

If you would like to experience the speed and competition, get your race kiteboard lessons. Kitesurfing should replace windsurfing at the Olympic Games and the kite class that will replace windsurfing is formula kite that uses race kiteboard.
