KIMASurf's big plus is that surf guiding is inclusive and happens twice a day. Every day, up to 16 trips daily are organized for all surf levels to various breaks around Bali. In other words, you can take part in at least two guided sessions per day. Small groups are divided into different skill levels, taking current tide, as well as swell and wind conditions into account.
Kima's well-trained surf guides always surf with you in the water, giving you tips, and showing you tricks. They are familiar with the island and will tell you everything you need to know about the spot, pointing out any potential hazards.
The sessions are filmed and analyzed afterward three times a week. You can also join the theory lessons that are offered three times a week.
The guided surf tours are always adapted to the given conditions and depending on the swell, an odd, secret spot may come to light. Meanwhile, slightly more advanced beginners can surf a reef break at low swell and boast about conquering Uluwatu. With the guides' years of experience, you will always be at the right spot at the right time.
For your daily routine, select the surf sessions that suit you best from the digital surf planner at the surf resort in Seminyak the day before. If you have got a real itch for surfing and do not mind getting up for an early morning surf, you even get to enjoy more than two sessions a day. The surf guides will be pleased to help you to make your choices.
The concept of the Kima Bali surfaris encompasses daily exploration of adjacent and further afield surf spots. Kima's years of Bali experience lead you to the island's best surf, such as the riff in Bingin, 6 kilometers of sandy beach at Kuta Beach, or the shore break in Dreamland.
Depending on daily conditions, participants' wishes, and surf level, guests spread out across the island in small groups by car or boat. This allows you to take part in at least 14 surf sessions at different spots a week.
Don’t worry about bringing your own board, we have it covered. We provide shortboards (5'8'' - 7'0''), fun shapes and mini-malibus (7'0'' - 7'8'') as well as longboards (9'0'') available for every level and all conditions. Leashes and Lycra are included in the rental price. Any repairs or loss of equipment will need to be paid for.
Be on the safe side and insure your rental board. We will carry the costs for any repairs over a period of one to three weeks, whether it’s a tiny dent or a major break. Any damage will be repaired professionally. If the board or parts of it get lost - even if it is in the water - the costs have to be paid by the user.
For intermediate surfers, Bali has a whole series of soft reef breaks and semi-beach breaks in store. Many perfect waves nearby or famous spots a bit further away will push your skills and you may even become an advanced surfer by the end of your stay.
Of course, it is also the advanced surfers that really get their money's worth on Bali. The best waves all around Bali are on the schedule: the legendary airport breaks and the classic Bali waves, such as Dreamland and Balangan or world-famous spots like Padang-Padang, Keramas, or Uluwatu.
For absolute beginners / first-time surfers, joining the learn-to-surf course (additional 79 EUR for three two-hour practice on top of the package price) is mandatory to build basic skills. The learn to surf package is the ideal way to connect into the guided tours.
KIMASurf offers one yoga lesson per day from Monday to Saturday. In every lesson, there is a maximum of eight people. You may choose two have two guided surf sessions every day or one yoga lesson and one guided surf session daily, except on Sunday, which doesn't offer any yoga classes. Kindly take notice that private lessons are also available for an extra cost.
This surf camp takes place in Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia. With a total surface area of some 5,600 square meters, Bali is one of the smaller spice islands of Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago. Following a struggle for independence, the former Dutch colony has been part of the Republic of Indonesia since 1945.
A hero of the freedom army from those days, Ngurah Rai, is still greatly admired and the airport in Bali’s capital city Denpasar is named after him. Before Bali’s attraction for tourism was discovered, the population lived almost exclusively from fishing, cultivation of rice, coffee, tobacco, and spices. The fertility of the soil means that up to three harvests a year are possible.
Nowadays, Bali’s coastal regions are fairly touristy with a highly developed infrastructure, particularly in the south of the island. Cinemas, restaurants, internet cafés, shopping malls, and hospitals with Western standards have been established around the hotspots Kuta, Denpasar, and Nusa Dua. However, large stretches of the interior around the volcanoes and the north and east coast still boast an unspoiled nature. And here, traditional Balinese village life, Kampung, is still very much alive. The breathtaking scenery with its luxuriant, tropical vegetation and the famous rice terraces is the setting for ancient ceremonies and worship. The mystical atmosphere is still evident.
A few minutes walk from your room are some legendary beach breaks such as HalfWay, Padma, Gado-Gado, and KuDeTa. These breaks are perfect for beginners and are an ideal contrast to the daily surfaris with the camp cars to all Bali surf spots. Numerous shops, bars, and restaurants are within walking distance. You can reach the party and shopping hotspot, Kuta, after a five-minute taxi ride or a 15-minute walk along the beach.

The cost of living in Bali is pretty low. A healthy and filling meal will cost around 3 EUR. The obligatory evening beer on the beach is likely to be the most expensive thing on the healthy Indo food menu. Fruit salads, nasi, or mie goreng (fried rice or noodles) can be bought for under 2 EUR, even on the most remote beaches.
In Seminyak, there are plenty of good restaurants with high-quality food that cater to Western tastes. You will find all sorts of food including German, Persian, Italian, Japanese, Greek, or Brazilian, plus international fast food chains, of course.

KIMASurf offers a different island tour every day for those looking to explore inland Bali, providing you with one or more vehicles and a driver for a small fee. The itineraries include tours to the volcano lakes along rice terraces, stopping at old temple sites and waterfalls. Sometimes, several guests spontaneously decide to go on a trip together, sharing both fun and costs. These tours can only be booked on site.
Experienced shapers manufacture custom made surfboards exclusively for surf camp participants. Your board can be ordered according to individual wishes (size, weight, surf level, dimensions required) in various colors and designs. All boards come with an ESS board bag. There are special Kima discounts on fins, leashes, and foot pads. The prices start at 339 EUR per board.
Hindu Bali offers a great number of ancient temple sites, royal palaces, and rice terraces inland, but also shopping and dining options or trendy hotspots in the coastal cities. Sports enthusiasts can choose from a wide variety of activities such as diving, wakeboarding / kiteboarding, stand-up paddling, volcano trekking, rafting, mountain biking, or climbing giant trees.

Individually tailored to your preferences and level, you can set off alone or with your friends and hit all the surf spots Bali has to offer. The experienced guides will make sure that you are always surfing the best surf spots according to your surfing level, wind, and tides. They will be with you in the water to give you general tips and advise you on wave selection and maneuvering.

The special recipe is first the basics and then move on to learning by doing, one sure way of getting hooked on surfing. Explore Bali’s amazing landscape in a different way and discover places you normally would never go to. Tracks with different level of difficulty will lead you through small villages, dirt and jungle tracks, rice paddies, steep slopes, and through rivers. An experienced team of guides will accompany you and plenty of helpers of villages nearby will help you to pull yourself and your bike out of the mud if necessary.
The vehicle fleet consists of modified and well-maintained Kawasaki KLX 150cc dirt bikes and some off-road suitable Yamaha 125cc motor scooters with automatic transmission for the inexperienced rider. A complete set of protection gear such as boots, helmets, knee and elbow braces, as well as pants, gloves, and jerseys will be provided. The cost is 82 EUR per person.
If you are also interested in what is going on underneath your surfboard, you can check out Bali’s underwater world with a licensed dive masters. The coral reefs in the Blue Lagoon at Padang Bai are fascinating with their blaze of colors and diversity of species.
The wreck of USAT Liberty, a US marine freight ship sunk in 1942 by a Japanese submarine is living history. Manta Point, Shark Point, or the Mola Mola Bai are other countless diving spots off Bali. The cost is 95 EUR per day, inclusive of two dives.
