Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura is a Canary Island famous for its 150 kilometers of sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and natural landscapes. Fuerteventura is considered to be one of the best surf places in the world because of its perfect weather conditions brought by the Atlantic Ocean and long sandy beaches.
Surfers from all over the world visit the island to ride waves, and it is also a perfect place for those eager to learn surfing. The northern part of Fuerteventura is one of the most beautiful and suitable areas for surfing. In the north, you can find surf spots for all levels of surfers, from constant beginner-friendly waves to challenging point-break waves with tubes for advanced surfers.
Corralejo
Corralejo is a town and resort located on the northeast tip of Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands, facing the small island of Lobos. At approximately two miles, it is the largest holiday resort in Fuerteventura. Corralejo remains a traditional fishing village, but there are also many new buildings and hotels behind and beside it. Corralejo has managed to retain its original charm and atmosphere, and there are still white sandy beaches in the town center, where you can 'drop down' and soak up the Canarian sunshine.
Corralejo is surrounded by the most impressive and beautiful beaches in Europe. There are two small sandy beaches in the town and they are usually very crowded. The most impressive beaches are situated just south of Corralejo in the Parque Natural de Corralejo. The name of the beach is Grandes Playas.
It is a long sandy beach with Turkish clean water and big sand dunes. Its a lonely beach, but walking along it, you can find some naturists walking, but don’t be embarrassed as its usual in Fuerteventura. Corralejo Beach, Grandes Playas, has the prestigious Blue Flag Award. This is awarded to meet certain standards and is based on 27 criteria like water quality, environmental management, and safety.
Nightlife in Corralejo is laid back compared to the other main Canary Islands, but for sure is the best in all of Fuerteventura. In Corralejo, a party scene takes place in and around the main street. You can visit some live music bars, like Rock Island, Corner Rock, or a surf bar, Tequila Beach.
The young wild surfer crowd usually does the tour of the surf bars starting in Buena Onda surf bar, then going to Banana bar or Tequila beach bar (live music from 22:00 to 24:00), and finishing the night in Waikiki discotheque. The party is pretty much the same every evening!
