Maldives is known for its warm and clear water surf perfection. If you are the type of person that grew up looking at surf magazines with double page photo spreads of perfect point breaks wrapping around empty tropical islands, then start packing your board bags - Maldives is beckoning. The North Male Atoll contains the most popular surf breaks of the Maldives. It probably also offers the most consistent spots especially during the period from early April to late October. The breaks of North Male Atoll are perfectly shaped and offer highest wave quality, pick up a lot of swell and have proven to be quite consistent.
All rooms are with air-conditioning and en suite bathroom with hot and cold water.
Every day, there are 2 surf trips by Dhoni boat to the surrounding breaks (Jails, Honkeys, Sultans) and depending on conditions, to the north (Cokes, Chickens). All trips will be organized by surf guide and Dhoni crew according to the group and guest prefences as well as weather, swell and tides. Just Surf Villa Maldives will do their best to coordinate all surfers with those conditions to get a maximum of quality surf time during your stay.
Soft, tropical J-Bay is how Jails is sometimes described, breaking off the local island Himmafushi. When its on, its a long perfect, multiple section right that has to be surfed to be believed! Even when its not lining up perfectly, its still a real good wave with barrel sections and super nice long and speedy walls for big carves.
Its one of the best lefts in the Maldives, breaks off the same island as Sultans; however, its very fickle needing light winds and no current to produce a long wrapping left that actually increases in size as you go down the line. A must surf wave.
A fun right hander that has many different sections, Sultans is one on the most consistent waves in North Male Atoll. At 2 - 4 feet, Sultans is very mellow and a great introduction to surfing over reef with long playful walls and also some barrel sections. As it gets bigger, the inside section can produce some big heavy barrels.
Breaks off the local island Thulusdhoo. In a good solid S-S/SW groundswell, Cokes can have some of the biggest barrels in the Maldives. A shallow, powerful right, that gets progressively shallower on the inside. It is for experienced surfers only.
A long and perfect left. When its 2 - 4 feet, its a nice and multiple sections wall, which seems to go on and on. When its big, the inside section is a heavy barrel.

Just Surf Villa Maldives has its own kitchen and provides breakfast, lunch and dinner at the villa and sometimes at the lodge. Just Surf Villa Maldives catches fish on the boat trips and their chef offers variations of Asian and European cuisine.
Arrival at Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (MLE): If you like to get picked up from Just Surf Villa Maldives directly at the airport, let them know your flight details. Costs are 120 USD each trip. Depending on your preference, transfer time is about 1 hour by Dhoni, 20 minutes by speed boat, or about 50 minutes by local ferry leaving Male city daily (except for Fridays) at 15:00. Yet, Just Surf Villa Maldives recommends the Dhoni transfers to get into the Maldivian way of life. Even more experiencing the Maldivian way of life is taking the local ferry from Male. You would need to get from the airport to the city of Male and find your way to either Jetty number 1 or Vilingili ferry terminal. There are 2 ferries going to Himmafushi every day at 15:00 (except for Fridays), the province ferry from Vilingili which also proceeds further north to other local islands, or Just Surf Villa Maldives recommendation - the Himmafushi ferry from Jetty number 1 (Presidential Jetty). Both cost 25 MVR (about 2 USD) per person.
