My daughter and I stayed at Jungle's Edge from February 15 - 20, 2015. We found everything to be top notch. The owners were very welcoming, caring and generous. The staff was knowledgeable and happy to serve. The food was very fresh, wonderfully prepared, and fresh juice was abundant. We also enjoyed the other guests who were all very friendly, considerate, professional, and interesting. During our stay, we had two yoga lessons per day from Mark, who taught us not only the positions but how to live healthier and with a higher realm of understanding. The other activities we enjoyed were surfing lessons, water board paddling through mango groves, beautiful sunsets at the beach, swimming in the infinity pool, massages, facials, drinking coconut water straight out of coconuts, and shopping. The weather was superb and the fauna plentiful, diverse, and exotic. It was amazing to hear the sounds of the jungle every morning, particularly the howler monkeys! Bird watching was intense. Jungle's Edge is equipped to accommodate everyone from tent lodging to inclusive stays in a suite. I came back a much better person for this experience and am trying to hold on to this feeling for as long as I can.

Let me just say I knew nothing about Jungle's Edge Resort, because my girlfriend chose and booked the trip/retreat. I said to myself how bad could it be? Well let me begin by saying it was the best experience I have ever had! This experience definitely spoiled me from your conventional normal hotel experience. This was like paradise at your convenience and service of a 5-star hotel in a jungle. This was more like you gain a family experience. Dave and Edie make you feel so comfortable and so at home, besides the wealth of information they have and so eager to share was incredible. They are not intimidated by the barrage of questions I had. (I am a very inquisitive person) Dave has inspired us with what he has learned and shared with us.I learned many new things and shared a few things that were new to them. All of their staff did an amazing job, to make you forget youre in the Jungle, by there service. I really enjoyed the option you get a Jungle's Edge accommodations, you can choose up to 3 different room options: VIP Villa suite, a room, or a hut. You can also choose many different excursions. Nelson who by all means was the most accommodating hostess in making sure our every need was met and questions answered whatever time of day it was. We did the all-inclusive yoga and surf retreat, which was amazing. Marck the yoga instructor was a very thorough instructor, one who made sure you did it right without slacking, and also enriched us with life coaching with stories shared, I was very happy and inspired that we shared a lot of the same views and experiences. Herado the surfing instructor was also very thorough making sure you understood what he was he was teaching, regarding if it was your first lesson or just to having fun during your lessons. He made sure you were surfing correctly to avoid harm to yourself and others or improper technics.Their kitchen staff was remarkable, bringing their cooking heritage to make a very healthy enjoyable meal with love (even if you dont know their language), be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or even detox juicing. Juicing even craved my Italian foodie appetite before and after activities. I have never had such an exciting, restful, and healthy vacation. I am so glad that my girlfriend booked Jungle's Edge Resort because now that I experienced Jungles Edge, they have set the bar pretty damn high for hotel service accommodation. Im looking forward to experiencing it again and for a longer time without it costing a fortune. Dave and Edie keep up with the great work. Looking forward to returning again.

You can also choose many different excursions. We did the all-inclusive yoga and surf retreat, which was fantastic! Marck, our yoga instructor was awesome! He really knows his stuff! We also did the stand up paddle tour and got massages. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Although you are literally in the jungle, they still change your sheets daily and make cute sculptures out of your towels. Jungle's Edge gives you the flexibility to explore what you like in terms of food, juices, and excursions while living in the moment. They were very accommodating and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and came back home feeling refreshed! This has been the best vacation I ever had. I would definitely go back!

Nosara, Costa Rica is an ultra-hip surfing mecca drawing tourists from all over looking for a relaxed, fun, authentic vacation. Travelling in CR by myself, as a fitness professional, I was attracted to Jungles Edge huge, outdoor fitness pavilion which features everything from weight training, TRX, martial arts, barres, and a gorgeous, huge floor for all sorts of activities as opposed to a normal hotel or resort. This was more important to me than a luxury chaise lounge in the sun. While new to surfing and over 50, I was looking to really let my hair down and have a charming and adventurous experience with delicious, organic food in a relaxed environment. That's exactly what I got here. There are many levels of accommodation from very affordable tents to the gorgeous Villa, overlooking an infinity pool on a high cliff, I stayed in. The owner, Dave and his staff bend over backwards to make all of his guests comfortable and many of us became friendly and shared working out, paddle boarding, hiking, and dinner. The vibe is friendly, warm, and comfortable, kind of like adult camp. I would certainly return here for a family vacation with my sons who put working out at the top of their list!

I can't say enough good things about the people and the energy here. Jungle's Edge is a great place to spend time (fire pit, infinity pool, yoga studio, round bar.....) I stayed longer than I planned and will definitely be back. The yoga is incredible and there are plenty of rentable surf boards; though the place isn't on the beach it is protected and quiet. Great spot

My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the bungalows, we enjoyed our stay immensely. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. They offer many additional services, such as rides into town, ATV rentals, surfing rentals and lessons, yoga classes, etc.. The amenities are great, including an absolutely stunning pool. The food and drinks at the restaurant are delicious and made with the freshest ingredients (many of which are grown on the property!!!). This is a beautiful piece of paradise that is a great place to spend your day relaxing but also close enough to town if you'd rather do some exploring or visit the beach. We'll definitely be going back in the future!

I traveled to Nosara with a friend and we stayed in two of the bedrooms in the main house, sharing the bathroom between those rooms and the communal kitchen downstairs. We didn't know much about Costa Rica before showing up and were so happy to find that Jungle's Edge and Nosara were just what we hoped for! The lodgings were comfortable and beautiful, the staff all friendly and eager to be helpful, the availability of classes (we did yoga daily) and adventures (we went paddle boarding on a river nearby) were great--we merely expressed an interest and it would materialize the next day. We discovered a fresh fish stand a block away that had amazing fish caught fresh daily--we feasted on fresh sea bass and tuna along with the papayas and other produce we got at an equally convenient grocery store. When we ate in the restaurant, we were impressed by how much care the cooks put into presenting dishes that were beautiful as well as tasty. The walk to town or to the beach is about 15-20 minutes so we never missed having a car. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and one I'd return again for sure!

Amazing staff, great food, fantastic accommodations, just a short drive from everything including the beach. Dave, one of the owners of the property is awesome, great information on the local area and is super helpful and friendly.

They have surf lessons, waterfall tours, snorkel tours, river tours, they also offer yoga and massage as well as rentals of bikes, SUP, surfboards and ATVs.

The property also has a club house at the top of the hill with a beautiful infinity pool, the largest pool in all of Nosara.

The food here is amazing. Breakfast they offer great juices and smoothies as well as burritos and bowls. I had the most delicious veggie bowl ever here, complete with an ever full glass of wine!!

We stayed in a small bungalow with our own bath with a huge hot water shower. We were very happy with the room, it was very clean and comfortable. So comfortable we slept 14 hours on our first night!

Would recommend this place highly to other travelers, great price and superb accommodations!

I just returned from a week's stay at Jungles Edge and I have to say it was one of the best surfing trips of my life. I specifically came for the High Performance Surf Camp, an all-inclusive package that includes lodging, meals, surf coaching/guidance, and video analysis/workshops. I have been surfing for 10+ years, but I really felt like I was in a rut and was not improving. I was really looking to get some expert coaching and guidance to help take my surfing to the next level. To be honest, I did not know what to expect, but when I got there, all of my expectations were exceeded. Let me begin by saying the property is excellent and unique. Dave, the owner, is a great guy who has created a really incredible space and culture at Jungles Edge. It is located in a beautiful jungle, not far from Playa Guiones. You can walk or bike easily to the beach, but I had a car which made things even easier for exploring the area. The grounds exist harmoniously with their environment. They have organic gardens where they grow a lot of the food that they serve in their restaurant. The food is top notch. Everything from the juices, smoothies, and meals are delicious and healthy. They also have a really cool communal area for hanging out and cooking your own meals. I had a private AC room with a private bath with hot water, which was impeccably clean and comfortable, but, you can opt for less expensive options, if you want shared baths and a shared room or cabinas. The salt water infinity pool by the main house was also beautiful, set atop a hill for excellent views of the surrounding jungle. In addition, the staff is super friendly and willing to please. The last thing I would add is that they have lots of options in terms of accommodations and experiences. I chose to do the all-inclusive, but you could do just lodging or lodging and meals. You should look at their website to see all the other options. Like I said, this is an all-around great place to stay which I highly recommend. The only criticism I would give is that while the restaurant food was great, it was always a little different depending on who was working in the kitchen. I could order the same thing on the menu twice and it could be different depending on who made it. It was always good, but I have to admit I never knew exactly what I was going to get when I ordered it,lol.

Now, let me talk about the surf coaching, which is the real reason I came. Dave hooked me up with Chris, their lead instructor. (I saw a previous review that said something negative about Chris. I can’t verify what that person experienced, but I have nothing but positive things to say about Chris.) Surfing with him was such a great experience, because he not only friggin' shreds, he knows how to impart that knowledge. He was able to assess my ability on the first day we met, then we worked on certain skills which we both agreed that I needed to work on. Every day he pushed me physically and mentally in the water. And after, we reviewed video that was shot by either Daniel or Helen from the shore. This video analysis was so valuable that in some ways that alone is where I got the most value, watching myself and seeing what I was doing wrong and right. In all my years of surfing, I had never even seen myself, so this feature of their program really helped me tremendously. We also reviewed wave chasing, wave reading, and wave positioning both theoretically out of the water on paper and in the water as we were surfing. Furthermore, we traveled to different breaks depending on the conditions and tides. This was all complemented by Dave's knowledge, who himself is an excellent surfer. The pool is another tool where you can practice things like duck diving, paddling, and other things. In many ways, I re-learned a lot of what I thought I knew about surfing and left with the feeling that everything that I had been doing wrong before was now corrected. I had so much knowledge to take back with me to my home break in California.

I could write a lot more, but I think you get the gist of it. This is a great place to stay with amazing people(both staff and other guests). They also offer things like MMA training, TRX, and yoga, but I could not take advantage of it all because I was so tired from the surfing. It was actually fascinating to think that they had all this offer, but all I was really interested in was the surfing. The other stuff is a great bonus if you have the energy for it.

I recently spent one week at Jungle's Edge in Nosara to participate in a Fitness Retreat. What a beautiful and sense altering week it was!!! I stayed in one of the Villa rooms, which was clean, comfortable, and affordable when considering the amazing views, shared Villa kitchen, Infinity pool, proximity to Playa Guiones, and warm hospitality of our hosts Dave and Edie. Being an avid traveler, I was very impressed that Jungle's Edge created the type of experience and environment that can be afforded to people of all backgrounds and ages. On this trip, I met travelers who had come to Nosara to surf, do yoga, photography, or just explore Costa Rica. We all communed in a friendly, beautiful, natural, and health-focused environment. Our retreat included 3 daily meals w/ fresh made juices which were all prepared with local ingredients. The kitchen staff led by Bismarck were amazing and really went out of their way to take care of our group. I returned to New York City after this retreat at Jungle's Edge feeling inspired to continue the Yoga practice I had begun there, as well as the healthy and natural meal preparation we had experienced while staying at Jungle's Edge. Next time I will return with my husband and daughter so they too can take surf lessons with Chris, and have the Jungle's Edge experience of "Pura Vida", natural pure living.

We stayed here last minute after some other accommodations fell through. We were blown away by how great the place was. We stayed in a unique tent with a mini fridge and a fan. The place is set in the middle of an organic farm with all sorts of wildlife to view. The main bar/restaurant/awesome chill place was a great environment to socialize and meet people. We loved how everything was open air. The staff, especially Edie, was so helpful and very friendly. The pool had a great view and was very clean. There is a yoga area which was well set up. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.

Ledie and Dave (and their son) were the best hosts and made us feel so welcome. Their property in its entirety is so beautiful and it's obvious they put a lot of work and love into it! They have a kitchen on site where Alberto their chef cooks up some mean dishes and his son mixes some awesome drinks! Everything has so much flavor, let Edie tell you what's best, it worked for us! Alberto even customized his dish for my vegan taste buds, So yummy! We stayed in tent number 4. It actually cools down enough at night to get a good sleep and the wildlife didn't wake us up as early as in other places during our stay! The fan in the tent helps, and the mini fridge was a super bonus! We didn't get to see monkeys but we could hear them in the mornings, howling! The pool is so beautiful and refreshing, definitely take some time to jump in! We had a car which is handy, to get down to the beach. It would be a good walk by foot but if anyone on site is going you could always hop in! The town shuts down rather early at night but there is always a chill atmosphere at jungles edge to just hang in the swing chairs and enjoy some drinks! They also offer yoga and surf lessons!! Hope we can go back sometime soon!

I stayed at Jungle's Edge as part of my yoga training at Nosara Institute and felt immediately comfortable and welcome by the attentive and friendly owners. My room was very basic but was quiet and air conditioned, so it met my needs perfectly. One feature of this property that stood out for me was the amazing pool in a jungle canopy: a beautiful, peaceful spot to relax and reflect.

Our first intention was to do camping in Playa Guiones but what we found in Jungles Edge was a very nice tent well equipped and a peaceful environment. Definitely a save place with a nice pool on top of the hill where you can catch early in the morning a great sunrise.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Jungle's Edge. Our room was terrific. We were right outside the pool with an incredible view of the green mountains. You can hear the surf going off at nearby Playa Guiones. There are so many animals to see on the property including howler monkeys and many bird species. In addition to all that, the staff was fantastic. Dave, the owner, gave us lots of information about the jungle, the beaches, surfing, and healthy living in general. He was very accommodating and have us the best room for our needs. He is very knowledgeable on nutrition and grows lots of the fruits and vegetables used in the restaurant and juice bar right on the property. Giancarlo and Alberto made us basically anything we wanted. It was all super fresh and presented so well. They did a really great job. The food was so good.I was able to rent a surfboard right there as well. There are many great boards to choose from. The vibe here is great. There were lots of cool and friendly people from all over the world. We had a great time and were welcomed very warmly. We hope to return as soon as we can!

This is my second visit to Jungles Edge and I love this place. Jungles Edge is at the edge of the jungle and within walking distance to the beach. Dave and his staff are very accommodating to specific needs. Exceptional service. Exceptional organic fruits, vegetables, juices and smoothies. My breakfast was served in the shape of a palm tree. Top notch chefs with an amazing menu. Jungles Edge has affordable packages to fit every budget. Mixed fitness classes: yoga, TRX, kick boxing and jiu jitsu. Surf, train, relax, eat great, everything a vacation should be! My second journey here and I came alone and safety has never been an issue. I recommend Jungles Edge to any and everyone. My visits have been life changing!

Sleeping in the jungle with the luxury of a pool and great amenities made for a truly wonderful experience. It is located reasonably close to the beach and right next door to the Nosara Yoga institute (which was also great). First of all, let me explain I am a single woman traveling alone. I was meeting a friend, however, in the interim I decided to stay here in a Jungle Hut for those nights. My experience starts from while I was still in Florida. I got a voicemail from Edie who wanted to make sure I knew how to get to the hotel and if I had any questions. I decided to email Edie back because I was running around. She got back to me within 15 minutes and answered all of my questions in detail, thank you Edie.I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and was greeted by Dave, who was very welcoming and laid back, which immediately took the edge off of my 12 hours of traveling. Dave introduced me to the staff as well as other people staying at the Jungles Edge. I really appreciated that, since I was alone. The next day Dave "checked in" with me to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. At night, I was supposed to meet my friend at Il Basilico, however, i did not hear from her. Dave took it upon himself to drive me to the restaurant to check to see if my friend was there.Great hospitality and genuine care for the people staying there. Super laid back and friendly. I would definitely visit again!

I stayed with Edie and Dave back last year for a yoga retreat and loved it so much that I went back again 4 months later. They are the kindest couple and are surrounded by the nicest staff in the most incredible location. Both times I stayed in the tents and barely bothered eating anywhere else as the food is that delicious!Jungle's Edge has such a family feel to the place, and it really was an amazing place to spend a holiday. I had my yoga classes with Marck and he was just incredible and invoked a passion for yoga that I haven't managed to get rid of! I would go back in a heartbeat! You guys are amazing, thanks so much!

My boyfriend and I had an awesome time at Jungle's Edge! We will definetely be returning :) We rented a luxury tent for 2 nights, it was amazing! Each tent has a high queen size air mattress, clean linens, and fully bug proof, screened in porch area with chairs and a mini-fridge, also a fan to keep cool. It does get very hot during the day, however we were always down at the beach. Fortunately we had a rental car, or else it is a 20 min walk. Important - bring a flash light of some sort, the places closes down after sunset, and its pitch dark - but i liked it! Edie and David were so friendly and chill! Jungle Nelson was also very welcoming. The showers were very clean & had plenty of hot water - I was very impressed. Also there is a dog on the property who was so sweet, and made me feel safe as we slept in a tent at night. There are many howler monkeys in the area as well, we got up close with them at the top of the hill it was amazing, and we could hear them a few times throughout the night, sounded like they were right outside our tent! which was cool! Also they have the best deepest salt water pool I've ever seen. Definetely recommend staying there, especially if you like to camp!

This remote area is great for finding peace in the jungle. The huge studio is gorgeous and many classes such a yoga, TRX and martial arts are offered. Immediately upon arrival the Jungle's Edge owners David and Edie and crew members were welcoming and accommodating. Enjoy fresh smoothies and juices along withe organic clean food served at the onsite restaurant / kitchen. Take trips to see the sunset, enjoy surf lessons with Jungle Frank or just hang out by the pool and your time will be well spent. Loved my stay here!

I had such an amazing, beautiful time in Nosara at Jungle's Edge! The place is flooded with peace and tranquility, had everything I needed, beautiful open spaces and lots of different activities to get involved in. Loved every minute of my 8-day yoga retreat here. Extended my stay twice to end up staying twice as long as I had originally planned because every day I spent there I loved it more and more! Fast reliable Wi-Fi, clean and comfortable areas, hot water, delicious food and juices. I literally left Nosara a much healthier person! Would 100% recommend Jungle's Edge and Nosara for your Costa Rica visit and will probably return to here myself! Thank you so much Edie and Dave!

It is a really great spot. Really nice setup! From tents to the rooms all top notch. I was even surprised by the quality of surfboards for rent. It is probably one of the closer spots to the beach than most other places to stay in the area. I even got dinner there one night and licked the plate. Place is a step above than most Ive stayed in Costa Rica. I stayed in the small room with ac and private little courtyard out the back. Rooms were quiet, cool and dark. If in the area stay a night and see for yourself.

Jungle's Edge is the coolest place to stay. It's a glam ground deluxe as you can choose a ready to inhabit tent complete with linens, fan, electricity, Wi-Fi and mini-frig or an air conditioned cabin. The shower/rest rooms are impeccably clean and super roomy. The open air common kitchen and beautiful bar area is just fantastic. Jungle's Edge staffs are always working quietly on the grounds and will be more than happy to assist you with anything you may need, lovely people who really must enjoy working there. If you are there I think you are part of the family. A visit from the howler monkeys in the evening is always a treat, don't worry they never come down from the trees.

The Yoga Shala is set in the treetops with a view of the ocean below. Sydney Holly was the teacher leading the retreat that week and her classes are always amazing however it was extra special when a group of monkeys set up camp in the trees next to us. It was a once in a lifetime.I loved being able to surf every day! I went from a beginner lesson at the start of the week to making it past the impact zone into the "real" lineup all thanks to the amazing surf coach Jessie! The surf crew Jessie, Laura & Maria were very accommodating and patient, and they were the icing on the cake.
