Experience life in a tropical paradise where you can relax and forget about the busy life in the city. Live at the rhythm of the sun and enjoy the scenery and amazing sunsets. You will surely get the best time ever while improving your surfing and yoga skills. Just a few steps away from the beach, this is a relaxing retreat that will help you reconnect with yourself and the ocean.
There are several accommodation options in this retreat. Nestled in the heart of Lembongan Island, Isla Indah Retreat is ideally located just within a short walking distance from the beach and many activity centers. The garden bungalows offer all the comforts of western-standard rooms, a king-size bed, air conditioning, hot water, and Wi-Fi. The healthy food at Pisang-Pisang especially caters to surfers, free-divers, and yogis.
Risna Homestay is a friendly guest house located close to the main street of Jungutbatu and is next door to the main retreat, Isla Indah. They provide clean rooms with a double bed, a fan, and cold water. It also has a short walking distance to the nearest beach.
This retreat welcomes everyone from all levels of experience. Whatever your experience in surfing and yoga is, Isla Indah Retreat and Monkey Surfing knows that you have come to try your best and learn. They will make sure that you will have the greatest time during your stay.
Immerse yourself in the surfing culture and meet people who travel the world to surf and share their experiences. The instructors are International Surfing Association certified and the classes follow the association's standards. The groups are small, a maximum of 3 students for 1 instructor, to ensure that you will get the best learning conditions and for everyone's safety. There is also a 3-day evolution program for beginners and intermediates.
Yoga classes are taught in a fun and supportive environment, where laughter and smiles are welcome every single day and where you share each other's journey. The teachers will modify each class to suit the audience, making the classes both beginner-friendly and challenging enough for the more experienced yogi. All the yoga equipment, including mats, blocks, bolsters, straps, and water, is available throughout classes.
Explore the underwater wonders of the island. The boat captain will take you for a 3 and a half hour trip around Nusa Lembongan, Ceningan, and Penida. If the conditions allow it, you will do a first stop to Manta bay to encounter the majestic manta rays. The second stop will be Crystal bay for its amazing clear water and beach, then a mangrove for the widest biodiversity of life, corals and fish of all kind, and colors you cannot even imagine.
Isla Indah Retreat and Monkey Surfing has teamed up with Captain Diasa to offer you the best snorkeling trip in Lembongan possible. This organized half-day takes you to 3 popular destinations; Nusa Penida’s Manta Bay (if the condition permits), Crystal Bay and Nusa Lembongan’s Mangrove Point.
This trip really has it all -- Not only is Captain Diasa very skilled but he also cares about the environment of his homeland. He will give you a briefing on how to interact with the life below and is also focused on maintaining an excellent safety on the boat.
This trip has a maximum capacity of 16 snorkelers per trip to ensure the comfort of the guests (regular boats have 20-25 people max. on the boat).
Planet grew up on the paradise island of Lembongan. When he was a kid, he always jumped on his dad’s boat to go fishing or surfing. He is an accomplished surfer and famous for his laid-back barrels. Planet has been surfing for the last 20 years, with four years spent in ISC circuit. The most versatile surfer, he can barrel on any kind of board.
Indra’s approach is simple; that to reach depth, one does not have to travel far. You already have all the solutions and improvements you seek, but you overlook them because you make yourself believe that they are beyond your reach. In his classes, you gain more by doing less.
Darma lives and grew up in Nusa Lembongan and that made him close and aware of the nature and its conditions especially the sea. He participated in surfing competitions a lot and also attended several lifeguard trainings since he was a teenager. Barreling is his favorite thing in surfing and his outgoing personality helps the students to get relaxed especially when they are beginners.
Nadine has been a yoga instructor since 2020. She studied yoga in Germany while she was on her own healing journey. In 2021, Nadine went to Bali to free herself from old conditions. She could heal herself from a lot mental, emotional and physical issues. That's how she collected her skills for her Yoga classes and workshops. Nadine works with Himalayan Kriya Yoga, Breathwork and Quantumscience.
Kadir was born and raised in Lembongan and the Balinese hospitality can be shown by his cheerful smile that always warms the guests up, especially the beginners who are nervous to do their first lesson. He's here to make sure that the students learn in a fun way!
Everybody loves Dewi and her patience in teaching yoga to the students meticulously! Born and raised in Ubud, Dewi is familiar with the yoga world and has been teaching for so many years, mastering a lot of yoga types, while still learning more as she feels it isn't enough. She gives a touch of Balinese culture in her classes and is open to share more of it to her students.
Nusa Lembongan is a sleeping beauty, still uncrowded and peaceful. It is known for surfing, diving, and the love for underwater life. Many things are to discover off the beaten path, like seaweed farming, Hindu ceremonies, and amazing landscapes.
Please keep in mind that Nusa Lembongan is a small island and you may experience power outages any time of the day (usually 2 or 3 hours maximum). The water pressure can be low and internet is a bit slow but that gives you a great excuse to turn your phone off and go outside to have a look at the stars.

Ngurah Rai International Airport
32 km
Transfer included
If you would like to be picked up at the Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS Airport), Isla Indah Retreat suggests that you arrive before 1 p.m. (international flight) or 2 p.m. (domestic flight) to join the free shuttle that will be waiting for you at the airport at around 2:30–3:00 p.m.
If you arrive the latest at 2 p.m. (international flight) or 3 p.m. (domestic flight), you can still be picked up by the boat company with a private pickup car (will be waiting for you until 4:00 p.m.) that is subject to an extra charge of 200,000 IDR.
If you arrive after these hours, it would be better if you stay in mainland Bali for one night and they will pick you up from your hotel at around 11 a.m. on the next day, as the latest boat leaving from Sanur to Nusa Lembongan departs at 5 p.m. every day.
Isla Indah Retreat and Monkey Surfing have partnered with a boat company and they will pick you up from your accommodation in mainland Bali (the pickup time depends on how far it is from the harbor, normally at around 11 a.m.) to the harbor in Sanur to catch the 1:30 p.m. boat, ideally. If you cannot be picked up for this departure time, they will get you to the harbor to catch the 5 p.m. boat.
The pickup to main places like Sanur, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, Central Ubud, and the popular Canggu is included in the price; however, the pickup to further places / places with heavy traffic like some other parts of Ubud and Canggu, Bingin / Pecatu, Tabanan, Amed, Karangasem, Padang Bai, etc. will be subject to an extra charge, depending on how far it is.
If you're coming from Nusa Penida, Gili Islands, Lombok, or any other places besides mainland Bali, the Isla Indah Retreat team cannot arrange your boat trip either because there is no fixed schedule for the boats (Nusa Penida - Nusa Lembongan) or because the boat ticket from Gili / Lombok to Nusa Lembongan is too expensive. However, they can pick you up from the harbor of the boat that you will be on to the retreat.
