In addition to extra measures taken for the new hygiene and cleanliness standards, the limited group requirement remains in place for many countries to prevent and control COVID-19 spread. Therefore, Ikarus Kiteboarding would like to specify that groups are only intended as private groups (meaning that only members of the same group can book on the same dates):
- 2 people (partners or friends)
- Maximum group of up to 6 people that will be split in 2 or 3 small groups
The first part of this program will take you through the steps of equipment set up, flying techniques, and safety. Furthermore, you will be piloting an inflatable kite, learn to water-relaunch, learn body dragging on the water, and learn a self-rescue technique. No experience is needed for this activity, you just have to be able to swim.
The certification standards have been designed to validate your levels from your first body drag to your first jump. These standards will also allow the instructors to know exactly what you have learned and from what point to take up your training and allow kiteboarding centers to know exactly what kind of equipment you are capable of renting.
Disclaimer
This disclaimer is considering a no wind day and most customers arrive in the evening and leave in the morning-midday. In case you have two no-wind days, you could still make the 9 hours considering doing 2 hours of theories, safety and water training with no wind like self rescue techniques, etc. and you can do the 7-hour in two days.
But in case there is no wind at all, customers can do some wakeboarding with the wave runner or wake foiling. In case there's a little wind but not enough for kiting, they can teach wing SUP, but probably the value of the package will not be used in full and in case the climate is very bad with strong rains. This is very unlucky (and unlikely) if in all 5 days you have only bad weather in this season, but 2-3 days of bad weather is still very possible.
