Hola, hola! Greetings from Iguana Surf Tamarindo, Costa Rica! They would like to invite you to live one of the greatest experiences of your life in their little paradise! They have over 30 years of standing up on the board and sharing the art of surfing with people from all over the world! Even though Surfing is their passion, another thing they are passionate about is sharing the treasures that this small country has to offer and they love to show the campers the culture, traditions, natural riches, and the Pura Vida lifestyle of the people and country! The private Costa Rica surf camp accommodations host four private ocean view suites that feature a downstairs sitting area with a full luxurious bathroom and an upstairs loft with option of two individual beds or one king. Two of these rooms offer a futon for a possible third friend to join! These suites are perfect for a couple, or two or three friends traveling together!

Traveling solo? No Worries! The Iguana Surf’s deluxe dorm that features two full bathrooms downstairs and an upstairs loft with eight beds–bunk bed style, each with their own private locker.

Program

During this camp, you will enjoy surf, nature, good vibes, amazing sunsets, delicious food, party, and much more... All this along with the coolest crew in Tamarindo!

The package includes four surf lessons in total and one surf trip along with a photo package and a video analysis session.

Private groups

Please take note this program will be private, meaning small groups that book this program will not be combined with strangers. The lodging and activities will be private for the group only.

Surf lessons

Each surf lesson is 120 minutes long and will be customized by your professional, bi-lingual, ISA certified surf instructor to your skills and fitness level. Your first lesson will start with a short introduction on the beach, covering the basics of surfing, safety tips and some exercises to practice getting up on the board. When your instructor feels you are ready for the real thing you will head out into the surf and practice what you have just learned. Your instructor will be with you in the water the entire time, offering direct feedback and instruction to help you form a solid foundation for the week of surfing ahead.

Be able to learn faster and understand easier with our video analysis breakdown to help you improve to the next level.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Warm welcome to Pura Vida land
  • Day 2: The day stars with a surf lesson and learning everything from scratch!
  • Day 3. Surf and explore this little Paradise
  • Day 4: You will continue improving your surf skills and exploring our jungle beach and mystic town
  • Day 5: It is the day to shine in the water, surf and photo shoot!
  • Day 6: Surf trip where the team will take you surfing a paradise beach that you'll never forget!
  • Day 7: Last day in Paradise were you will finish this adventure with the last surf lesson of this journey and a warm departure from all the Iguana family!

Included excursions

One surf trip to a nearby break (Playa Avellanas / Playa Grande) is included.

Location

Iguana Surf Hotel is located in the heart of Tamarindo, so you can go walking to any place in town. The hotel has a perfect location because it is in front of the beach and a little away from the night clubs so you will not be affected by the noise and they are also in front of one of the best spots to surf "Pico" so it will be incredible to wake up, go down the stairs where your instructor will be waiting for you, and just a few steps and you will be in one of the best spots in Costa Rica.
