Live like a surfer at the authentic surf camp! Spend your holiday surfing, glamping 5 to 7 minutes walk from the beach, relax by the campfire at night, and meet like-minded people from around the world. All packages include glamping accommodation in spacious tipi tents, healthy breakfast and dinner, surf lessons, and transfer to the surfing spot. This is the perfect surfing and beach holiday for people that want to disconnect from day-to-day life and enjoy the outdoors and ocean.
In the community area, you’ll find an open and equipped kitchen with a shared fridge and several hobs. Visit the surf camp bar to grab a refreshing drink after a long, sunny day, enjoy the swimming pool or play a beach-volley game. At night, gather around the campfire with the other guests and the crew to share a moment of camp stories, music and laughter.
If you are tired of the beach, you can always jump into the campsite swimming pool and relax soaking up some sun. The campsite has different sports courts such as a football court, tennis and padel courts, a basketball and a volleyball court. They have balls and tennis rackets you can use freely at the camp. They also have a few skates, surf skates, and a limited amount of bikes you can use for free.
The campsite has shower blocks with continuous hot water, a mini-market, a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool, and sports courts.
You can choose between two different accommodation options: The shared tipi tents have four single beds while in the private tipi tents, you’ll find a double bed or two single beds.
Both tent options come with electricity, lights, and a set of dishes for every person. Bedding and linen are also provided. As this is a glamping experience, their mattresses are premium quality and comfortable ensuring a great night of sleep.
I surf Portugal has an accreditation from the Tourism of Portugal as a ´clean and safe establishment according to Health measures (you may corroborate this via the seal stamp photo featuring in the listing's images). For any questions about this, please feel free to send an inquiry.
There will be five days of surf lessons with the surf gear included (wetsuit and surfboards). The camp offers different activities from beach games to yoga and, of course, surfing.
They drive you to the best surfing spot for the surf lessons. You surf in a great surf spot perfect to learn or improve your surfing; it’s an open beach break north of Porto ideal for all levels.
Beginners will stay in the white water at the front and experienced surfers will be able to catch green waves at the back. They have a large selection of surfboards including hardtop longboards and shortboards.
Whether it is your first time or you have already surfed a few times before but can't catch a green wave yet, this is for you! You will learn or have a refresh of the basics of surfing. They will teach you and guide you towards riding your first waves by yourself in a safe environment and aim to ride your first green waves by the end of the week.
This is the basic package included when you book a shared or private tipi.
You'll get plenty of time to enjoy the beach during your holidays with them. Once back from the surf lessons, you can spend the afternoon at the local beach which is about 7 minutes walk from the camp. They have beach volleyball nets, and balls you can use freely, as well as beach tennis sets. You'll never get tired of the beautiful sunset over the ocean!
When the sun goes down, join them around the crackling campfire for a few drinks and some good vibes. You'll get to know the crew and the other international guests. Throughout the week, they have a few activities including a pub quiz, movie night, cocktail night, and a guitar jam session.
If you feel like partying a little longer, nothing beats a bonfire on the beach with some music and a few drinks! For those wanting more action, you can easily hit the dance floors of Porto's vibrant bars and clubs.
They take pictures throughout the week and capture different moments of your surfing progress. They then show the pictures at the end of the week and let you have them for free! Now, when you catch a wave remember to look at the camera and smile.
Jorge has an international experience having lived in the UK, France, and Australia. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a different way to see things. He caught the surf "bug" while living in Australia although he has always been interested in surf and water sports. Jorge is a qualified surf instructor, certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation.
The surf camp is based in the north of Portugal, on a little beach village called Lavra in the municipality of Matosinhos just north of Porto. The surf camp is nestled among lush tall trees, offering a tranquil haven of shade for relaxation.
The camp is inside the camping park of Orbitur Angeiras, a campsite certified and recognized by the quality of its services and its facilities. It is located about 7 minutes walk from the local beach and 15 minutes drive from the surfing spot.

The surf camp package includes a breakfast buffet with a diverse selection to satisfy every palate. On five evenings per week, the chef will cook international dishes accompanied by fresh salad and dessert (drinks are not included). I Surf Portugal caters to vegetarian and vegan diets, too.
Two days a week (Monday and Wednesday), you’ll have the opportunity to taste one of the many local restaurants and the city of Porto to dive into Portuguese culture. Being in a charming fishing village, many restaurants offer an array of fresh fish and seafood they highly recommend.
If you prefer to prepare your own meal, you have the option to use the fully equipped kitchen. Once onsite, you can also decide to sign up for their optional lunch package for an extra 7 EUR.
Let them know if you have special diet requirements or food intolerance when you book, so they can make sure that they can cater to your needs.
On-spot activities include surf lessons for beginners and experienced surfers in separate groups, which will be taught in English. There is also yoga, and different free get-togethers like the weekly BBQ, movie night, trivia night, cocktail night, volleyball games, and lots more. Be surprised by what the week brings!
Wednesday is your free day, there are no lessons nor activities. It's your chance to visit Porto and discover the amazing UNESCO world heritage city that won best European destinations a few times already.
Immerse yourself in the Portuguese culture, wander in the small streets of the historic center of Porto, try a "pastel de nata" (Portuguese custard tart) and some Port wine. Next to the camping, there is a bus that takes you directly to Porto.

If you arrive by car, enter the following address into your navigation system: Camping Orbitur Angeiras, Rua de Angeiras - Lavra, 4455-039 Matosinhos. You will receive an information after booking with all the info on how to get to the surf camp.
You can park your car on the external car park of the campsite or inside the campsite, both come with additional costs payable upon arrival directly to the camping park.
Please book your flight to arrive at Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO). A taxi from Porto Airport is the easiest and quickest. There are always many taxis at the airport. You can get a taxi from there directly without booking. If you prefer booking one in advance, you can always use the Uber app. The price of a taxi is between 10 EUR and 15 EUR.
Although it is not far at all, it is quite complicated and long to get to the surf camp by public transport as you have to get to Porto center by metro from the airport and then take a bus (which has many stops before reaching the final destination).
From the airport, take the metro (purple line) to "Sete Bicas". From there, take the bus line 104 to Orbitur Angeiras.
