The camp will take place in Tarifa, Andalusia, Spain. High Flyers Tarifa is at the southernmost tip of Spain and only 14 kilometers from Morocco. It is this proximity between the two continents that gives Tarifa its legendary number of windy days per year, due to the wind being squeezed between the two land masses through the straits of Gibraltar. Also being the very south of Spain, it is much warmer than the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Northern Europe.
So, come and visit High Flyers Tarifa and come be part of Europe´s legendary kitesurfing destination. Come to soak up the sun and experience the magical town of Tarifa. Tarifa is a small, laid-back town that attracts people from all parts of the globe. But despite this, it is still a traditional Andalusian town. Many come for Europe’s best kite and windsurfing conditions, and others simply to relax in some of the bars, cafes, and chill lounges.
In the summer months, the narrow streets really come alive both day and night, offering a wealth of culinary and cocktail delights, good live music, and an unbeatable party atmosphere. Throughout the year, this small town has a great community spirit, and you will instantly feel welcomed amongst friends.
Beaches in Tarifa
Right in the town and stretching for 10 kilometers west is the beautiful wide, open Los Lances beach. This is a perfect spot in Poniente winds. There are lots of space to learn and practice on the beach and in the water. If the wind is blowing Levante, you have many possibilities depending on the strength of the wind, including Valdevaqueros, Getares, and Palmones, all a short drive away.
There are other beaches further afield that can give you the chance to kite on days when the wind is too strong here in Tarifa. And because High Flyers Tarifa keeps the group small, they have the option to drive further distances and the flexibility to move if the wind is better somewhere else.
